you were around 15 when you stole the fruit right under blackbeards nose and you'd been running a long time before luffy and his crew found you.
blackbeard as you'd like to taunt the man, was alow. powerful enough to crush your skull but just never fast enough to catch you.
you'd eaten the fruit before he'd even had a chance to take it, and used your newfound power to run as far away as possible from him, which led you to know.
you and blackbeard in another predictable showdown, fighting over what was rightfully yours.
"i'm going to kill you on the ground you stand." his missing tooth made it hard not to laugh.
"for your sake, i hope you do." blackbeard lunged at you, but you were ready with and attack that sent him flying backwards into a building. without a navigator to help traverse the sea it was hard to properly figure out what islands you were on.
"what's happening?" sanji screamed over the chaos, they'd been hoping landing on and insland called safe keepings would provide a little less action and allow them to restock on a few things but they 'd guessed wrong apparently.
luffy was already running, half eaten bone in his hand, "black beard." he said, which got the attention of whole crew within seconds.
they ran out to find you pretty much beating blackbeards ass, and a devil fruit power they'd only heard of.
"she has the dark-dark fruit!" chopper exclaimed, causing blackbeard and his oncoming crew to see the people they were going up against.
you're eyes popped out as you looked at the people beginning to surround you, "you guys are the strawhats right?"
luffy grinned still scarfing down as much meat as possible, his words a bit muffled, "yeah, and ee, hate blabed too!"
"don't talk with food in your mouth!" nami scolded, smacking the mans head with her staff.
"wow you guys are...sorry about him. he's kind of a crazy stalker obsessed with me.." you giggled, eyes watching out for wherever the man in question would pop out.
"for translation blackbeards on our hitlist as well, you seemed to be faring well without us though." it was zoro speaking now, and you'd felt him sizing you up before you saw it.
"yeah, that's what these are for." holding up the muscles you'd attained.
sanji unexpectedly burst into a nosebleed and blackbeard, taking it as a chance to attack with full force.
unluckily for the both of you, the navy was here, and franky their ship's mechanic made it known that anyone who didnt board now would be obliterated in the coupe de' burst, including you.
it was an adrenaline rush flying away from all the chaos and landing safely but now you werr left vulnerable to a bunch of pirates you'd only just met.
"sorry about your party...i'll find a way to leave soon so don't worry!" you laughed nervously.
"you have the dark-dark fruit right?" it was robin speaking, a tall tan lady with shiny black hair.
"yeah, blackbeards been so shitty about me "stealing it" he's been chasing me since i was 15 dude." you rolled your eyes just thinking about it.
"then, it'd be quite dangerous for a beautiful young lady like you to be all alone, considering black beard is hunting you, you must have a pretty berri on your head." sanji swooned.
"i mean yeah..i guess 600,000,000 is alot for a bounty..." you mumbled absentmindedly.
"600,000,000!?" the crew exclaimed, that was more than aces when he was alive.
you flinched slightly, "haha yeah...and it only keeps increasing.."
"i guess that settles it then, you have to stay with us until you can manage your own ship." luffy was crisscrossed and already chewing on another piece of meat.
the crew seemed to be in unison you saw wasn't just because he was their captain.
if only they knew just how long you'd stay.
blackbeard was on their tail again, rushing towards the sunny with rapt enthusiasm.
it wasn't long before he was taken care of however, luffy seemed especially mad today. "you can try as many times you want but you can't have her. she's ours now."
this made you pause, "luffy what do you mean?"
but luffy was already laughing, that cheeky look on his face.
"it means your part of the crew now." zoro said briefly slugging an arm over your shoulder before sanji put a stop to it.
"what so you mean.."
"welcome to the crew [Name]."
you couldn't be any better.
