This is peak MAGA horror.

The library didn’t even *have* the books they protested about.

But you showed up with guns and terrified a nice librarian lady enough to quit her job.

I get flashbacks to when the GOP loved Laura Bush because “But she is a sweet, shy pretty librarian, who wants to teach kids to read. No one can possibly dislike her.” Even most Democrats were generally fine with her.

Modern day GOP: “She’s a massive threat.”

In today’s library propaganda, I got to stop by the Brooklyn Central Library and see The Book of Hov exhibit.

If you’re in New York and a fan of Jay-Z, I’d definitely say it’s worth stopping by to see.

I just found out that Spotify now offers paid audiobooks. The thing is, if you have Spotify premium, you still have to pay for each audiobook you want to listen to. Which makes sense in the context of audiobooks as a whole but not on a platform I’m already paying.

So, anyway. Friendly reminder that you can access audiobooks for free on the Libby app. All you need is a library card.

And if you’re a minor, you can get a Brooklyn Library card even if you don’t live in NY. And their access to books is RIDICULOUSLY big! It’s a dream!

Brooklyn Library Offers Access to Banned eBooks to Teens Across the U.S.

The UnBanned Books initiative will give anyone in the U.S. between 13-21 a free eCard, giving them access to frequently challenged ebooks.
