Part 1 of Magna Ax AniTomo Takeover!
I had the incredible honor of being part of the inaugural anime convention at the Brooklyn Public Library, AniTomo Con! This unique event was curated by the brilliant minds of BIPOC teenagers from various neighborhoods across Brooklyn. Led by the amazing Eileen Level, CEO of Palefo Cinema, these passionate young teens came together to brainstorm and create their ideal anime convention.
The result was nothing short of amazing – a day filled with love and appreciation for anime and manga. I had the opportunity to contribute as a Vending Artist, Panelist Speaker, and Workshop Artist, immersing myself in a marathon of creativity and shared passion.
AniTomo Con truly brought the Brooklyn community together, celebrating the diversity and talent of BIPOC creators. It was a memorable experience that showcased the power of young voices and the joy of coming together over shared interests. I'm grateful to have been a part of such an inspiring and inclusive event.
