At the distinctive sound of the gate, her attention is torn away from her book - it falls to the floor, abandoned, as she runs into him at near full speed, launching her body at his. She doesn't seem to care if she knocks him over as she loops her arms around his shoulders, burying her face into his thick white hair as she gasps - elated, clearly, at his return. "Brooklyn! Oh... I missed you -- !"

If was nice to find himself, once more, in familiar company. Natalie was on him before the gargoyle could realize where he’d ended up, though the flash that he caught of her face and the delight in her voice were enough to let Brooklyn know that he was safe.
And, more importantly, so was she.
A surprised yelp would soon be followed by laughter as Brooklyn caught the girl, barely managing to keep the two of them from toppling over. Silently does he find himself thankful for the fact that he’s always had a good sense of balance, with his tail playing no small part in keeping Nat from knocking the red gargoyle flat on his back.
He doesn’t bother to scold her though - Brooklyn never does, given that he’d just as happy to see her.
“You too - I didn’t think I’d get to see you again this soon!” There was a pause, followed by another chuckle as he gave the redheaded girl an affectionate squeeze.
“Well, soon for me. I’m guessing that it’s been a lot longer for you.”
