very messy vamplock - heeeey why not
My current musical taste has changed slightly since I started working. I generally prefer listening to music that is very subdued with a groove to it. I guess moody would be the right word because I dislike outright sad music, or outright happy music, or outright angry music, or, well, anything outright I suppose. I mostly don't like music that wears its heart on its sleeve. That said, my current tastes have sort of changed.
That music is plenty well and good when you're listening to it at home. At home I'm preoccupied and I can use the music to enhance my brooding, as I am now. Also my keyboard is made of Gothic stone and I am pining for Maria, the only woman who's ever understood my struggles asthe ultimate life form. That music is not, however good when I've got to use it to distract and entertain me. In that sense it's got to be a bit more fun. It's at this point where I turn to my old friend, britpop. Britpop and sonic music are my secondary go to's when I feel like being a social, well adapted, generally likeable person. Can't have that though. Otherwise I wouldn't be the coolest.
When I run low on briptop, I tend to turn to the Beatles as a sort of "last holdout" for music that I can easily listen to and not think about. This track is a direct result of me listening to Lovely Rita on repeat, a song that I've always liked more than I should. I tried to write a song in that very beatles-ie style, but kind of messed up with the chord progression. I didn't really get what I was going for at all, but it still works well enough. Instead, I think it's a bit better suited for a tv show ending. This is my official reason for gimping the length to 1:48. The real reason is that I passed out soonafter writing. I'm a tired dude.
