Generally, how lenient are Brown's RAs/security officers/etc about drinking, drugs, partying, etc?

Residential counselors at Brown are basically your best friends. It obviously depends on the person, but they typically are very approachable and understanding. In fact, they make it a point to stress that they’re counselors, not advisors. As my first year RC put it “We’re not here to get you in trouble. We want you to have fun.”

As far as “security officers,” there are two kinds of cops that you’ll come in contact with. The Brown police, or BroPo, are (as that name suggests) bros. Mainly, their job is to make sure everyone is safe. Nothing is over capacity, no one is being set on fire, etc. The Providence police, on the other hand, are pros. When they come around, the party is over. Usually, you don’t have to deal with them, though.
