Da Dirty 30: 1986-2016.

30 years have passed, and i’m still trying to find the perfect beat and jam the top jams and get inspired in just the right ways to get me thru the day. here are my favorite songs now released in every year since i was born. one to grow on.

(i soon realized it was very hard, so i doubled up and separated out hip hop to prevent having to gut too many faves.)

casualties: too many to count, but disgusted that his name is alive, gbv, stone breath, krs, lisa germano, pixies, beat happening, albini, flips, modest mouse, all didn’t make it. so many kool keith solos left out. worst of all, danielson and atdi were top 3 in 3 different years and never got a win.  

*(if it’s not rap, that’s ok, but it fit better on this mix than thee other. it’s the best song of the year and the best song ever made.)

**(i had to pass over 21 better coup songs from the first 3 albums cos, you know, there were better rap songs those years)

***(nothing from this year needs to be mentioned, but i’ll fill this spot with o’death’s “lean to” to get the shambling noise folk punk increased)

**** can I just pick another rap song from ‘13? So many good ones that year and nothing I loved in ‘14…yeah? no one cares that “get through the day” came out the year before then. it’s the best song somedays for doing just that.
