Brotzeit Celebrates Oktoberfest 2025 at The Podium Hall
It's that time of the year once again! Brotzeit Philippines is bringing Bavaria to Manila with an authentic Oktoberfest celebration filled with beer, bites, and beats. For the first time, Brotzeit Oktoberfest 2025 is coming to The Podium Hall on September 20, 2025 and it’s set to be their biggest celebration yet.
Expect a night full of authentic Bavarian vibes, mouthwatering German cuisine, flowing premium beer, live performances by Anton Showband, exciting games, prizes, and more hosted by DJ Tony Toni. The Hungry Kat was invited to Brotzeit's new Podium branch (Read: Brotzeit Philippines Reopens in Ortigas at The Podium Mall) for a sneak preview of the beers, food, and festivities that will be available at Brotzeit not just on September 20 but all throughout the festive season until November.
Starting September 7 to November 10, 2025, all Brotzeit branches including those at The Podium Mall, Shangri-La at the Fort BGC, and Alabang West Parade will be transformed with festive Oktoberfest decor, lively weekend games, Bavarian specialties, and seasonal Oktoberfest beers.
Brotzeit was conceived in Singapore in 2006 and now operates across the Asia Pacific region. It aims to introduce authentic Bavarian cuisine accompanied by world famous quality German beer in a chic and contemporary setting, so Oktoberfest is always one of its biggest events of the year. Now on their 12th year in the Philippines, there’s no better place to enjoy this annual German tradition than at the country’s most popular German bier bar and restaurant.
Oktoberfest is an annual festival held in Munich, Bavaria in Germany from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. Thankfully, you don’t have to travel to Germany because Brotzeit is bringing the party right here in Manila on September 20 at 6:00pm. The heart of every Oktoberfest is the music so the Anton Showband will be back to bring the energy to a whole new level. Party all night with games and prizes plus enjoy all these with unlimited Bavarian feast and free-flowing German beers.
Brozeit will be offering exclusive Oktberfest beers for this year’s celebrations. The Weihenstephaner Festbier (P480 - 0.5L) is a full rich bodied seasonal lager specially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer represents the Bavarian way of celebrating with its deep gold color, great mouthfeel, and lots of flavor. There's also the Pauline Oktoberfest Bier (P480 - 0.5L) which has the perfect balance of a light taste of hops and a strong note of malt.
Brotzeit is very proud of its German beers and these are taken very seriously from sourcing, using proper glassware, and even pouring techniques. All beers at Brotzeit are brewed according to the Germany purity law, so you are assured of an authentic German experience.
I really like the beer cocktails that Brotzeit offers. This time I tried the Apple Bier (P380 - 0.5L) which is lager mixed with apple juice. Brotzeit offers so many different beers and flavors and you are sure to find your own favorite.
Brotzeit Philiipines also offers signature cocktails like the Black Forest (P550) which comes with Espolon tequila, red wine, citrus, and chocolate syrup. It's a really unique cocktail that feels like eating a Black Forest cake but in liquid form.
To celebrate the Oktoberfest season, Brotzeit Philippines is launching its special Oktoberfest Menu from September 7 to November 10, 2025 featuring all Bavarian favorites. Indulge in crispy pork belly, savory sausages, warm pretzels, and tender steak, all part of their Oktoberfest menu crafted for the season.
I love eating their Brezn or Bavarian Pretzel, but Brotzeit takes it even further this Oktoberfest with the Überbackene "Flammkuchen" Brezen (P180). This is a unique caramelized onion and cheese gratinated pretzel with bacon and caraway seeds. I have never had pretzels this good so I hope they keep this on the regular menu.
The Regensburger Bierwurst (P480) comes with smoked pork and beef sausages served with bacon sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Brotzeit always makes the best German sausages and these are as good as they come.
Here's something new at Brotzeit, the Weisen Hendl (P520) which are marinated golden fried chicken leg quarters with potato cucumber salad and cranberry sauce. The fried chicken is so crunchy and it's difficult to eat just one piece.
The Knusprige Schweinbauch (P950) is one dish that I'm sure everyone will love. These are crispy roasted pork belly served with napkin dumplings and mustard gravy.
If you want a bit of everything in one plate, order the Metzger Pfanne (P780) which comes with luscious pork belly, smoked pork and beef sausages, bacon sauerkraut, napkin dumplings and onion sauce.
Brotzeit also features steak this Oktoberfest. The Zwiebelrostbraten (P1650) is a Black Angus beef striploin steak cooked with red wine onion sauce, fried onions, roast potatoes, and bacon beans.
The main attraction at the Oktoberfest Menu is this Bavarian feast. The Oktoberfest 2025 Weisen Platte (P3850) brings together the finest flavors of the season, crafted for sharing and celebrating in style.
This gigantic Bavarian platter comes with a fork-tender Signature Pork Knuckle that is always the highlight of our Oktoberfest feast. This an all-time Brotzeit favorite and is the quintessential German dish. The pork knuckle is cooked until the meat is tender then oven roasted for the perfect crackling skin. The meat is actually infused with beer to give it that special taste.
The set also comes with crispy roasted pork belly, golden fried chicken leg quarter, regensburger bierwurst, Thüringer sausage, potato cucumber salad, and bacon sauerkraut for a complete package.
Aside from the main Oktoberfest party at the The Podium Hall, there will also be Signature Branch Parties on September 26 (BGC), September 27 (Alabang), and September 28 (The Podium). We would like to thank Brotzeit Philippines for inviting us to a preview of their Oktoberfest celebrations. Prost!

Level 6 The Podium Mall, 12 ADB Ave, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong
Podium Social Officially Opens at Level 6 of The Podium
The newest hangout spot in Ortigas is now officially open as Podium Social welcomes guests at Level 6 of the Podium Mall. We had a brief preview of Podium Social last month when Brotzeit Ortigas held its grand opening here, but now everyone can enjoy all the chic and cozy dining destinations that you can find on this "hidden" level at the Podium.
Podium mall goers sometimes skip visiting Level 6 at the topmost floor, but now there are five good reasons to explore this new area as Podium Social brings together some of the most exciting restaurants all in one fantastic venue. Celebrities, VIPs, and media guests were invited last June 26, 2025 to the Grand Launch of the Podium Social where everyone got to hop over, explore, and taste the featured specialties of each establishment in a gigantic food crawl.
Guests were given a map and a wristband which gave us access to all five restaurants at Podium Social. Each one offered a sample of their menu and beverages, so it was really a festive evening going around from one place to the next.
Along the way, cocktails and refreshments were also spread out along the floor. We started with some glasses of Chandon Garden Spritz then some Hennessy cocktails.
We were welcomed by Malvin Ang, owner of Brotzeit Philippines which we were happy to support once again with their newest branch opening here at Podium Social.
Brotzeit occupies the biggest area among the restaurants at Podium Social, and it is really well deserved as they continue to be the most popular German restaurant and beer garden in the country today.
I really love this new spacious branch which really feels more like a German beer hall that just a restaurant. The place gives a lot of good vibes and energy for the guests who want to relax and enjoy drinking and eating with their friends.
Brotzeit was conceived in Singapore in 2006 and now operates across the Asia Pacific region. It aims to introduce authentic Bavarian cuisine accompanied by world famous quality German beer in a chic and contemporary setting.
One great feature of Brotzeit Ortigas is their al fresco dining area which offers a great view of the Ortigas skyline.
For tonight's launch, Brotzeit gave guests a taste of German cuisine with their Assorted Sausage Bites, Pretzels, Brotzeit Brot, Kasespatzle or Cheese Spatzle Bites, and my favorite that night, the Smoked Salmon and Black Forest Rosti. These were served together with glasses of their Premium German beers.
After indulging in German delicacies, we hopped over next door to H Proper Coffee Roasters to try some of their offerings.
H Proper Coffee Roasters is a third-wave specialty café & roastery which started in Cagayan de Oro City and has now opened several branches in Metro Manila.
We tried a few of their samplers including the H Proper Bistro Sliders, Dragon Fruit and Malasugue Ceviche Bites, Sweet Potato Fries, and Croquets Fundidas. They also served some of their featured beverages like the Cold White Brew, Cold Black Brew, and Passionfruit Nitro Iced Tea.
Another restaurant which recently opened at Podium Social is Osteria Antica from the Wildflower Group.
Osteria Antica brings an authentic taste of Italy to the heart of Ortigas CBD. It offers beautifully designed interiors featuring distinct sections for formal dining, casual meals, and a welcoming bar, all complemented by stunning city views.
Savor handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and fine Italian wines in an inviting space designed for every occasion. They offered their Sausage and Margherita Pizza plus a sample of their Agnolotti Pasta for guests that evening.
One of the most exciting new restaurants to open in Makati is Restaurant Aurora owned by Divina Law founder and managing partner Atty. Nilo Divina. They then opened their second concept Bistro Aurora here at Podium Social.
Bistro Aurora features Asian comfort food with a twist. One will find a more relaxed ambiance that is warm, bright and inviting. The signature dishes of Aurora, together with new and exciting flavors made exclusive for Bistro Aurora is what makes this new home special, prepared with the same care, attention and love that have earned Aurora its title of Tatler Dining’s Best New Restaurant for 2024 and its place on the prestigious Tatler’s Dining 20 list.
We grabbed some chairs by the counter and proceeded to sample some of the flavors that made Restaurant Aurora so popular.
We had the Salmon Avocado Toast Bites, Tamarind Glazed Pork Skewers, Seafood Nori Roll, and Chicken Poppers with Sambal Cream Sauce. They also served a few of their specialty drinks and mocktails like the Strawberry Fizz, Oolong High, and Kaya Toast.
Soon to open in August is Lazy Suzy which gave a small preview of their bar chows and drinks. They served Saamjang Tuna tartare, Sichuan Sesame Soba, and Molo Crisp with shiitake mushrooms. They also offered their Golden Gai cocktail with gin, yuzu, and ginger beer.
Podium Social is definitely the newest and most exciting dining destination in Metro Manila. All five restaurants offer unique and distinct cuisines and menus that can satisfy its discerning clientele every day of the week. So make sure to visit Level 6 at the Podium and discover your newest hangout spot.
Brotzeit Philippines Celebrates Oktoberfest 2024 With Three Party Days
Oktoberfest 2024 is right around the corner so Brotzeit Philippines is getting ready to celebrate this annual German beer event once again. They just launched their special Oktoberfest Menu and have announced their Signature Party Days where guests can experience German music and entertainment combined with authentic food and drinks.
The Hungry Kat was invited last week at Brotzeit's Bonifacio Global City branch to sample their Oktoberfest Menu which is available from September 1 up to November 10, 2024. It had been a while since my last visit but I always make sure to join their Oktoberfest parties. Brotzeit proudly celebrates Oktoberfest 2024 at its two branches in Alabang West Parade and at Shangri-La at the Fort this September to November.
Now on their 11th year in the Philippines, there’s no better place to enjoy this annual German tradition than at the country’s most popular German bier bar and restaurant.
Oktoberfest is an annual festival held in Munich, Bavaria in Germany from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. This year, it will be held from September 21 to October 6, 2024, but you don’t have to travel to Germany because Brotzeit is bringing the party right here in Manila.
Brotzeit is very proud of its German beers and these are taken very seriously from sourcing, using proper glassware, and even pouring techniques. All beers at Brotzeit are brewed according to the Germany purity law, so you are assured of an authentic German experience.
Brozeit will be offering an exclusive Oktberfest beer for this year's celebrations. The Weihenstephaner Festbier (P480 - 0.5L) is a full rich bodied seasonal lager specially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer represents the Bavarian way of celebrating with its deep gold color, great mouthfeel, and lots of flavor. What I really enjoyed was the Bayrischer Longdrink (P380 - 0.5L) which is one of their Bier Cocktails. This half liter mug comes with lager mixed with calamansi and vodka.
Another cocktail beer that we enjoyed was the Mango Bier (P380 - 0.5L) which has wheat beer mixed with mango juice. Brotzeit offers so many different beers and you are sure to find your own favorite.
I also love their Hot Chocolate so I order this every time I visit. This hot cocoa drink comes topped with cinnamon cream.
Now let’s try some of the special Oktoberfest dishes. Brotzeit has created a new Oktoberfest Menu that perfectly represents the season and goes very well with the featured beers for this celebration.
The Anchovy Fladen (P490) is a flatbread topped with cheese, anchovies, artichokes, capers, and sweet red onions. This is a good starter that can be shared by the entire table.
Brotzeit Philippines Executive Chef Ivan Maminta then shows us some of the other items on the Oktoberfest Menu.
The Weisswurst (P390) is a traditional Bavarian Pork and veal sausage served with pretzel. The sausage is quite flavorful and you can choose to remove the casing or not. You can also get the Pretzel (P300) as an additional order by themselves.
If you really want to celebrate Oktoberfest, go and order the Oktoberfest 2024 Platter (P4600). This huge meaty platter will surely be the highlight of your Oktoberfest celebrations with its combination of Oktoberfest specials and Brotzeit favorites.
First up, this full platter comes with a Regensberger, a Nurnberger, and a Thuringer Sausage with Sauerkraut and potato salad. These three sausages will definitely satisfy your cravings with its different textures and flavors.
Then there's the Grilled Pork Chop and Roast Beef to satisfy the big meatlovers. These big and juicy slices should go well with some pretzels.
The main highlight of the Oktoberfest Platter is the Signature Pork Knuckle. This an all-time Brotzeit favorite and is the quintessential German dish. The pork knuckle is cooked until the meat is tender then oven roasted for the perfect crackling skin. The meat is actually infused with beer to give it that special taste.
The pork knuckle is so tender that you don't even need a knife to break it open. The Oktoberfest 2024 Platter is definitely packed with all the meat you can handle.
Our Oktoberfest gathering even had some very special guests. My husband Dexter was so surprised to see Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski join us at our table. He is in town for the much awaited SuperManila 2024 Comic Convention happening on the weekend.
Who would have thought that Dexter would be having beer with one of the comic book industry's top executives? He actually has tickets to SuperManila already so this was a very happy surprise.
Brotzeit’s Oktoberfest 2024 celebrations culminate with their Signature Party Days on September 27 to 29, 2024. This huge 3-day Oktoberfest party will be similar to how they do it in Germany. Special guests will be the AnTon Showband which is a popular German group that performs traditional German folk tunes to modern hits. They will be playing at Shangri-La at the Fort on September 27 and 29 then at Brotzeit Alabang West Parade on September 28. You can book your tables early and join this unforgettable musical journey at (https://brotzeit.ph/reservation). We would like to thank Brotzeit owner Malvin Ang for hosting our advance Oktoberfest party. Prost!

Brotzeit Philippines Celebrates Oktoberfest 2023 With Signature Party Days
It's that time of the year again when the beers start flowing and the parties go on and on. Oktoberfest 2023 is right around the corner so Brotzeit Philippines is giving us a head start with its Oktoberfest Menu which is available starting September 1 up to October 29, 2023! They will also be having their Signature Party Days from September 22 to 24 where guests can experience German music and entertainment combined with authentic German food and drinks.
Brotzeit proudly celebrates Oktoberfest 2023 at its two branches in Alabang West Parade and at Shangri-La at the Fort this September and October. Oktoberfest is an annual festival held in Munich, Bavaria in Germany from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. This year, it will be held from September 16 to October 3, 2023, but you don't have to travel to Germany because Brotzeit is bringing the party right here in Manila.
My friends and I got a sneak preview of what to expect at Brotzeit for Oktoberfest 2023. Now on their 10th year in the Philippines, there’s no better place to enjoy this annual German tradition than at the country’s most popular German bier bar and restaurant.
Brotzeit is very proud of its German beers and these are taken very seriously from sourcing, using proper glassware, and even pouring techniques. All beers at Brotzeit are brewed according to the Germany purity law, so you are assured of an authentic German experience.
We tried some of the exclusive Oktoberfest beers that can only be found at Brotzeit in the Philippines. Schneider's Bayrisch Hell is a traditional beer that is similar to its homeland, pure and full of character. On the other hand, the Schneider Weisse Tap 7 Original is a stronger beer that has a deep amber color. These beers can be ordered in 300ml (P300), 500ml (P440), or 1 Liter (P850) glasses.
They also offer the Schneider Weisse Love Beer (P380) which has a lovely golden color and comes with aromas of citrus, stone fruit, and elderflower with flavors similar to Sauvignon Blanc. The beer has a refreshing tang that finishes with an earthy noble-hop bitterness.
If you want to make the entire table happy, go for the Three-Liter Barrel (P2550) which can provide enough beers to last the entire evening.
Another option is the Weihenstephaner Festbier, a full rich-bodied hoppy seasonal lager especially brewed for the Festbier season. I think The Pickiest Eater in the World had a bit too much beer during our party.
Now let’s try some of the special Oktoberfest dishes. Brotzeit has created a new Oktoberfest Menu that perfectly represents the season and goes very well with the featured beers for this celebration. The Bratwurst Semmel Klassik (P450) is a Hungarian cheese sausage served with sauerkraut and sweet mustard on a brioche baguette.
There's also the Bratwurst Semmel (P480) which is served with a mushroom sauce, gherkins and spring onions also on a brioche baguette. Both sausages come with a side of potato wedges which are also so good to nibble on.
You can never go wrong with the Meterwurst (P1100). This sizzling meter-long grilled sausage spiral is best for bigger groups who just can't get enough of Brotzeit's sausages. It is also served with potato wedges and sauerkraut.
For the meaty main courses, the Geräucherte BBQ Schweinerippcher (P1350) will surely give everyone enough energy to party. These juicy BBQ smoked pork ribs comes topped with coleslaw and is served with toasted garlic bread.
I love steaks so my favorite would definitely be the Rinder Auf Dem Oktoberfest (P1200). This is 250 grams of Australian rib eye with pommes, and pfeffer sauce. The beef is cooked medium just the way I like it. It also comes with potato fries and salad so that makes it doubly good.
If you really want to celebrate Oktoberfest, go and order the Oktoberfest Platter 2023 (P5200). This huge meaty platter will surely be the highlight of your Oktoberfest celebrations with is combination of Oktoberfest specials and Brotzeit favorites.
This full platter comes with a Meterwurst, Brotzeit's Signature Pork Knuckle, BBQ Pork Spareribs, Australian Rib Eye and your choice of sides.
You can order these separately from the Oktoberfest Menu but if you are with a big group, then the Oktoberfest Platter is the best way to go. I always love having Brotzeit's pork knuckles with its crispy skin and and very tender meat. Pair your order with any of Brotzeit's German beers for a perfect Oktoberfest combination.
For desserts, try the Kaiserschmarren (P250) which is an Emperor's Pancake served with cranberry jam and apple sauce. You can also get the Apfelstrudel (P190) which has sweet spiced apples inside a flaky crust and served with whipped cream.
I was happy to see my childhood friend Nikki Viola here at Brotzeit. Nikki now works for When in Manila as a correspondent so I get to see her more often now during media events.
Brotzeit's Oktoberfest 2023 celebrations culminate with their Signature Party Days on September 22 to 24, 2023. This huge 3-day Oktoberfest party will be similar to how they do it in Germany. Special guests will be the AnTon Showband which is a popular German group that performs traditional German folk tunes to modern hits. They will be playing at Brotzeit Alabang West Parade on September 22 and 24 then at Shangri-La at the Fort on September 23. You can book your tables early and join this unforgettable musical journey at (https://www.brotzeitdelivers.com/reservation).
We also got a sample of the activities you can find at Brotzeit in the next few weeks. An Oktoberfest party will not be complete without games and fun challenges, so Brotzeit will also be giving away great prizes for its guests during the Oktoberfest season.
Try your skills at the beer mug lifting challenge for the girls, or the beer barrel challenge for the guys. There will also be beer drinking contests where the fastest group can win great merchandise and prizes from Brotzeit. My husband was more than ready to drink his beers.
We would like to thank Malvin Ang and DK Herrera for hosting our Oktoberfest 2023 preview giving us another taste of this awesome German celebration. Head to Brotzeit now and experience this delightful Bavarian tradition yourselves. I love their giveaway shirts!

Brotzeit Philippines Celebrates Its Longest Oktoberfest in 2022
Everyday’s a Fest at Brotzeit this September and October as they proudly launch their Oktoberfest 2022 celebrations, now on their 9th year in the Philippines. There’s no better place to enjoy this annual German tradition than at the country’s most popular German bier bar and restaurant. You will find lots of other hotels and restaurants with their own Oktoberfest activities, but Brotzeit continues to be the my favorite place to feast and party with friends.
This year, Brotzeit Philippines celebrates its longest Oktoberfest ever from September 12 to October 29, 2022 with exciting games and amazing prizes daily. They have also launched a special menu for Oktoberfest 2022 with a rare, limited-time only beer from Germany that you won’t find anywhere else. So don’t wait until the party’s over because Oktoberfest starts now!
My friends and I met up for an Oktoberfest reunion last night at the Shangri-La Plaza branch of Brotzeit Philippines. This is first time that Brotzeit’s Oktoberfest celebrations look this festive again, especially since the activities in the past two years were limited due to the global pandemic.
For those who are still hesitant to dine indoors, Brotzeit’s branches in Ortigas and Bonifacio Global City both have spacious al fresco dining areas so that should not stop you from enjoying all the beers.
I finally got to be again with my soon-to-be flower girl, Chiara. She’s grown a lot during the pandemic but she’s still the sweet and playful girl that I missed playing with.
Since Chiara is half German, we got her starting early with the beers! Don't worry, she was only the server. Aside from Brotzeit’s extensive beer and beverage menu, they will be offering the Paulaner Oktoberfestbier which is a special beer brewed only for the Oktoberfest season. This is a 100% natural full-bodied Bavarian Marzen, with full rich malt flavors. Paulaner has been brewing this beer since 1818, representing centuries of brewing tradition in a stein. You can get a 0.5 Liter Mug or a 1 Liter Mug, but if you are really thirsty, go for the 3-Liter Table Barrel so everyone can enjoy endless pours of authentic German beer.
Brotzeit also has this special Schlenkerla Marzen or “Smoky Beer,” a one of a kind smoky and bittersweet beer that Brotzeit brought into the Philippines all the way from Bamberg, Germany. This is only available while supplies last.
Chiara and I also got our own hot chocolate beverages which I always like having here at Brotzeit.
Now let’s try some of the special Oktoberfest dishes! Brotzeit has created a new Oktoberfest Menu that perfectly represents the season and goes very well with the featured beers for this celebration. The Gratinierte Brezn (P120) is a gratinated pretzel topped with Emmental cheese and bacon bits.
The Bayricher Leberkäse (P420) is a Bavarian meatloaf served on a bed of creamy spinach and mashed potato then topped with fried egg. This looks like a great hangover or breakfast dish if you had too much to drink the night before.
Another Oktoberfest specialty is the Köstrizer Schwarzbier Suppe (P320) or Dark Beer Soup with cheese gratinated sourdough bread. I have never tried a beer soup before but this one was actually quite good.
Don’t forget about the sausages! The Nurnberger Stadtwurst (P900) comes with 450 grams of delicious German sausage served with sauerkraut, roast potato, and onion mustard.
On the other hand, the Oktoberfest Rösti (P350) has a crispy potato rösti topped with veal sausages, sauerkraut, bacon and a poached egg. This is another good hangover companion.
There’s also the Bayrischer Schweinskrustenbraten (P900) for the meatlovers with its gorgeous pork belly, sauerkraut, red cabbage, bread, and potato dumplings.
But the main highlight of Brotzeit’s Oktoberfest feast is the Oktoberfestplatte (P3500) which comes with almost all of those mentioned above and more. This huge Oktoberfest platter comes with Nurnberger Stadtwurst, Thuringer Sausages, Fried Chicken, and Meatloaf.
Right in the middle is the signature Brotzeit centerpiece that we always come back for whatever the occasion. The Crispy Oven Roasted Pork Knuckle is an all-time Brotzeit favorite and is the quintessential German dish. The pork knuckle is cooked until the meat is tender then oven roasted for the perfect crackling skin. The meat is actually infused with beer to give it that special taste.
The platter also comes with several sauces and side dishes including fries, potato salad, and crispy onions. This should be good enough for the entire table.
An Oktoberfest party will not be complete without games and fun challenges, so Brotzeit will also be giving away great prizes for its guests daily during the Oktoberfest season.
Try your skills at the beer mug lifting challenge, with the guys lifting these big heavy barrels instead. There’s also a beer drinking contest where the fastest group wins great merchandise and prizes from Brotzeit.
Brotzeit Philippines is opening their third branch soon at Alabang West Parade on October 8, 2022. That brings the Oktoberfest action much closer for those living in the south. If you prefer to celebrate at home with the family, Brotzeit is also available for deliveries every day from 11:00am to 11:30pm at www.brotzeitdelivers.com. So whatever the location and occasion, Brotzeit is always there to give us a memorable Oktoberfest party. Prost!!!

Brotzeit Philippines Launches Its 2022 Lenten Specials
Our favorite German restaurant, Brotzeit Philippines, has just launched its 2022 Lenten Specials which will be available for the whole months of March and April. These are the perfect options for diners who are strictly following their meatless diets during this special lenten season.
These meatless seafood specialties are now being offered at the two Brotzeit branches in Shangri-La Plaza and Bonifacio Global City. They have really gone their way to prepare these seasonal dishes under the Nordsee Wochen (Gone Fishing) menu, but don’t worry because the regular menu is still fully available for everyone.
With Metro Manila being downgraded to Alert Level 1, we can now enjoy dining out at our favorite restaurants again under the new normal. Gone are the plastic dividers that are usually an eyesore on each table, but Brotzeit continues to follow health and safety procedures, especially as all of their staff are fully vaccinated.
The last time I was here at Brotzeit was during last year’s Oktoberfest season where we dined outside at their al fresco area to be safe (Read: Safe and Fun Oktoberfest and Holidays at Brotzeit Philippines). This time, my friends and I were more comfortable staying inside with the A/C on.
Brotzeit continues to be the most popular German restaurant in the country today. It was conceived in Singapore in 2006 and offers authentic Bavarian cuisine accompanied by world famous quality German beer in a chic and contemporary setting.
Aside from their extensive beverage menu, Brotzeit is also offering a few Seasonal Beers like the Schofferhofer Grapefruit (P200). I was quite curious when I saw this orange-colored beer on the bar so I wanted to try it for myself.
Schofferhofer Grapefruit is the world’s first grapefruit wheat beer and it is now available in the Philippines. It contains 50% Wheat Beer and 50% Pure Grapefruit Juice with just a 2.5% ABV. It actually feels like drinking orange juice, but with a stronger taste. That means you can drink a lot more of these festive beers without getting too drunk. I don’t mind drinking it even in the middle of the afternoon.
We got to try all six of the featured dishes under the Nordsee Wochen menu. First up was the Raucherlachs Fladen (P310) which is a thin crust pizza topped with smoked salmon, capers, rocket salad, mustard seeds, and sour cream. Its crispy crust was very enticing, especially with the tasty salmon slices generously scattered on top of the pizza.
Next was the Geschmorte Muschelin (P560) or New Zealand Mussels in butter, white wine and a hint of chili served with toasted baguette slices. I really liked its creamy white sauce which I eventually scooped up with the garlic bread.
I love eating prawns so it was just natural for me to enjoy having the Mojito Garnelen (P680). These prawns are marinated in mojito, then grilled and served over fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. The combination of prawns and mojito plus the cheese was really outstanding.
We also had some pasta on the table. The Meeresfruchtesnudeln (P390) has fresh seafood tossed in a creamy and buttery Tagliatelle then served with garlic toast. They don’t scrimp on the seafood here because those salmon, shrimp, and mussels are really good.
One of the highlights of the set was the Pochierte Lachs (P420). This butter poached salmon sits on a bed of creamy risotto then topped with rocket salad. It’s a full meal by itself with the risotto and salmon creating a harmonious balance.
Last but not the least, the Steckerlfisch (P690) is a huge roasted mackerel served with crisp potato wedges on the side. This is good for sharing among your friends together with a set of beers and cocktails. So don’t worry about following your meatless traditions this Lent, Brotzeit is always a great place to visit with their awesome Lenten Specials.

Safe and Fun Oktoberfest and Holidays at Brotzeit Philippines
With Metro Manila being downgraded to Alert Level 3, we can finally breathe a sigh of relief as we enter the holiday season. But that doesn’t mean we should let our guards down. We should still follow all the health protocols and minimum safety requirements to ensure we don’t go back to stricter restrictions. That’s why it is important to choose a restaurant where you can safely dine in while still adhering to all necessary safety standards.
Brotzeit Philippines is one of the safest and most fun places to celebrate Oktoberfest and the holidays with friends and family. With the lower quarantine levels and shorter curfew hours, Brotzeit’s two outlets in Shangri-La Plaza and Bonifacio Global City are now open daily from 11:00am to 12:00mn. More importantly, all their staff are 100% fully vaccinated so guests can enjoy their authentic German beers and dishes with the highest protection they can get.
Brotzeit has always been known as a festive location so vibrant conversations can still be done safely as all tables come with sturdy glass panels. Maximum dining capacities and social distancing measures are also enforced to ensure proper spacing for guests. They use Aeris Active which provides hospital-grade disinfection on hard surfaces, kills COVID-19, and provides antibacterial protection for up to 7 days or 200 touches.
They also have a spacious al fresco area for those who prefer an even safer dining environment. Although the official Oktoberfest festival in Germany has already finished last October 3 (Trivia: Oktoberfest actually starts towards the end of September), it’s not too late to celebrate this annual event and have a safe and fun dining experience here in Brotzeit.
Brotzeit’s fresh draught German beers are always the best way to start any gathering. My favorites are their beer mixes like the Affensaft (P300) which comes with banana syrup or mango juice.
There’s also the colorful Blaues Bier (P300) with its vibrant combination of beer, vodka, blue curacao and mixed fruit juice. You can also enjoy their Buy 1 Take 1 promotion on all cocktails daily from 11am-6pm.
Let’s start this Oktoberfest celebration with some Bavarian Pretzel (P300). These are the iconic German breads which are freshly baked into their signature shapes. You can also enjoy them per piece for P90 each.
The Dried Pork Sausage (P260) is also a great appetizer to whet those taste buds. These dried pork sausages are cut and served with pickles and mustard.
One of Brotzeit’s newest items is the Doner Kebab (P290). I remember when our group was given a little taste test last year featuring these kebabs. It seems that they have really perfected the recipe because these are so good to munch on. The spiced beef strips are mixed with cabbage, onions, chili sauce and garlic cream sauce then stuffed inside a thin pita bread.
You can’t visit Brotzeit without having one of their juicy sausages. The Pork Cheese Sausage (P520) are sausages stuffed with cheese with a seductive hint of smokiness. It is served with potato salad and sauerkraut.
The Currywurst (P485) comes with even more bolder flavors as this very long pork sausage is topped with chili-curry sauce and then served with a generous portion of potato wedges.
But the highlight of our Oktoberfest celebration was the signature Brotzeit centerpiece that we always come back for whatever the occasion.
The Crispy Oven Roasted Pork Knuckle (P1350) is an all-time Brotzeit favorite and is the quintessential German dish. The pork knuckle is cooked until the meat is tender then oven roasted for the perfect crackling skin. The meat is actually infused with beer to give it that special taste.
Bite into a piece of the skin and hear the beautiful crackling sound that will really make you go for more. Its very crunchy skin and tender pork is always a meat lover’s dream. Have it with gravy or just enjoy it with sauerkraut, fried onion strings, and mashed potatoes.
For dessert, the Emperor’s Cake (P240) is a great option to share with the table. The shredded rum and raisin pancakes are served with cranberry sauce for a sweet and delightful ending.
Brotzeit is open daily all the way until 12:00 midnight to give us a festive holiday season. For those who are still hesitant to dine in, Brotzeit’s German-inspired menu is also available for pick-up and delivery through www.brotzeitdelivers.com. Here’s to celebrating Oktoberfest the whole year round. PROST!

We may not be able to throw huge Christmas parties this year, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate the holiday season with our closest friends and family. Instead of inviting other guests to your home, it may actually be safer to dine outside at a safe and responsible restaurant that follows all health protocols and procedures.
Brotzeit Philippines is probably one of the safest and most fun places to celebrate the holidays with friends. We did that just last week at their Shangri-La Plaza branch where we got to sample Brotzeit’s new Christmas Menu. It was a cheerful and merry afternoon filled with laughter, sumptuous and meaty dishes, overflowing German beers, and lots of glass panels in a secure al fresco dining environment.
Brotzeit’s two outlets in Ortigas and Bonifacio Global City are open daily from 11:00am all the way to 12:00mn. Their German-inspired menu is available for pick-up and delivery, but if you want to have the full Bavarian experience, it is still best to go there and dine in yourselves, especially with their ice-cold beers.
Brotzeit follows all the recommended health procedures set by the government, including temperature checks with masks and face shields.
All tables come with glass panels and social distancing measures to ensure proper spacing for guests. Brotzeit is known as a fun and festive location so vibrant conversations between friends can still be done safely.
Contract Tracing and Health Declaration Forms on each table can be filled up using QR Codes. They use UV light disinfectant, germicidal and sterilizer for the safety of their guests and staff. They also use Aeris Active which provides hospital-grade disinfection on hard surfaces, kills COVID-19, and provides antibacterial protection for up to 7 days or 200 touches.
Every year, Brotzeit launches a special Christmas Menu to celebrate the holiday season. We started with the Wild Mushroom Soup (P220), a rich and creamy soup that comes with a puree of wild mushrooms and truffle.
Next was the Flammkuchen (P290) which is a crisp Yule flatbread topped with savory roasted bacon and onions. I really like how much meat they put on this flatbread. Every slice just overflows with bacon and that’s how I like my pizza.
The Beef Wellington (P1200) is a popular English pie that has seasoned beef tenderloin baked in puff pastry with mushrooms and black forest ham. This is served with wine-braised red cabbage, roasted potatoes and red wine sauce.
For our main courses, the Schweinbauch Roulade (P840) is a great option. The pork belly roulade comes with a rolled and broiled autumn crisp pork belly served with truffled mashed potatoes and roasted winter vegetables.
My favorite among the Christmas menu is the Baurnente (P1300). This is a tender roasted duck breast and leg quarter served with wine-braised red cabbage, warm bread dumplings, and red wine duck jus. The sauce goes well with the succulent duck and this is a different way of enjoying roasted duck aside from the usual Cantonese style.
For dessert, we had the Pumpkin Brulee (P190), a glazed spiced pumpkin custard topped with cinnamon cream. This is quite a heavy dessert, with the creamy pumpkin custard providing a sweet ending.
Guests can also order the Brotzeit Winterplatte (P4000) which is good for a party of four. This German Christmas platter comes with a round of wild mushroom soup, roast duck, pork belly roulade, and broiled pork knuckle. I’m sure this will satisfy any hungry group.
Of course, don't forget to pair your feast with Brotzeit's fresh draught German beers. My favorites are their beer combinations including the one that comes with mango syrup. You can also enjoy a Buy 1 Take 1 promotion on all cocktails at their Shangri-La branch from 11am-6pm daily! That should be more than enough reasons to visit Brotzeit during this holiday season. Prost!
