The Philippine Navy (PN) just commissioned into Service another Nestor Acero class, Fast Attack Interdiction Craft (FAIC) at their Headquarters in Manila, and it is the BRP Tomas Campo (PG-908). The BRP Campo is the seventh of nine FAICs that the PN ordered from Israel, and whose Contract was signed in 2021.
The BRP Campo is named after the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) Hero and Medal of Valor Recipient, the late Sergeant Tomas Campo who displayed exceptional Courage and Heroism in Lanao del Norte in April of the Year 2000.
Sgt. Campo saved the Lives of 11 other PMC Troops before succumbing to the Injuries he received from Enemy Gunfire during an Encounter. Only two more FAICs to go for the PN before the order is completed.
