Work was quiet that day, thankfully. Barry was able to get each task he needed to done. That made it easier at least, when it came down to running to the lab and patrolling the city as the Flash. He was barely even late heading into STAR labs, a fact that he was ready to blurt out to his friends the moment that he stepped into the room. “I hope you realize that I am a full ten minutes ea-” he started and then quickly cut himself off as he took a look around the room. Neither one of his friends that he worked with was in the cortex of the lab.
Instead, there was a strange man sitting in the chair he or his friends usually occupied, acting as if he owned the damn place. “Uhh....” He blurted, looking down at himself and wondering if he had used his speed noticeably as he came in. Though considering the fact that the paperweights weren’t set down properly and some of the papers were tumbling around the room, he could assume yes. He reached into his pocket, texting one of his friends that they had an intruder and not to come.
Barry took a step closer, despite his instinct screaming that this couldn’t possibly end well. After all, no one was supposed to be able to get into the lab like this. Who was this? “Sir, the lab is closed. Has been since the explosion,” Barry informed the man, pointedly ignoring the Flash uniform hanging up to one side. If he just pretended hard enough maybe they wouldn’t address that particular elephant in the room and the man would leave. Though maybe he was kidding himself too. “I’m afraid you’re probably in the wrong place here.”
