“Laissez Faire (Let It Be)”
Bruce Daigrepont
"A profile of Cajun accordionist Bruce Daigrepont and the Cajun dance he started at Tipitina's 22 years ago. Shot on location in Metairie and New Orleans during the Platypus Workshop, February 2008".
Don't miss your chance to see this local music legend perform this Friday at NOMA!
Bringing a bit of Cajun country to NOMA!
The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) would like to invite you to the Where Y'art?! event this Friday with music by Bruce Daigrepont. Performing Cajun songs and old-time country ballads, Bruce almost single-handedly has popularized Cajun music and dancing in New Orleans. Gina Forsyth will join Bruce on his accordion with a sizzling fiddle and vocal harmonies for a rare duo performance. Bruce is fully immersed in the singer-songwriter tradition. Several of Bruce’s compositions have entered into the standard Cajun dance band. Bruce is about pride of culture and heritage; pride in being what he is, a Cajun from the heart, with a story to tell, through his music.
