澳洲文史學者家博（Bruce Jacobs）日前在美國智庫的演說中，從歷史角度指證：「台灣從來不是中國一部分」，呼籲全球和亞洲的民主國家都應告訴中國這句話：「台灣不屬於你！」

據《美國之音》報導，家博是澳洲蒙納許大學亞洲語言與研究中心的教授，他將出版新書《轉變中的台灣認同（Changing Taiwanese Identity）》。近日他在華盛頓智庫全球台灣研究所演講時表示，台灣在1624年到1988年間，受到荷蘭、西班牙、鄭氏家族、滿清、日本和國民黨的統治，不過並沒有被「中國」統治過。

家博認為，在滿清帝國統治下，中國跟台灣只能算是滿清的「殖民地」，所以不存在中國曾統治台灣的概念；更指出，長期受到殖民統治下的台灣人民，不被允許擁有自我認同，在日本、國民黨的統治期間，只能使用日語或國語，更被視為「次等公民」。到了蔣經國晚期漸漸開放和自由化後…
