"... It's safe to come out..." Paladin said calmly, dropping down to one knee, "You don't have to hide behind that garbage can anymore."
Bruce's
He knew the look of a lost child, and on the city sidewalks of an approaching evening things could get ugly, terribly quick and in less than an a few hours. Bruce Wayne had just ditched an executive meeting for what may have been the bitterest coffee he had ever the displeasure of accidentally gulping hot. Tossing the cup into a fashionable bin outside Wayne Enterprises, he watched the younger boy for a breath of time.
No one came for him, no expected adult scooped the little thing up, and his worry built.
"Hey there Champ,'" he had crossed a swarm of businessmen on the end of their eight-to-five, "Need help finding somebody?"
Ugh, I just have so many emotions over Bryce and seven year old Bruce because Bryce knows everything that's going to happen to him and she wants him to be happy because he's not totally broken yet. And there's also the fact that he's a kid and he's bringing out her motherly tendencies and inner wish to be a mother. She doesn't care about how weird that makes their relationship considering that they're two different versions of the same person, she still has the urge to take care of him the same way she would any abused child.
I just can't with those two.

The boy looked around seven, maybe younger, and Sophia's looked around him briefly, wondering if he'd come with his parents. Of course, she hadn't always stuck to her parents when she was younger - she'd often gone off on her own when she was only six years old, with no father in the picture and her mother often at work.
But at fourteen years old, she was more aware that kids probably should have more supervision than she'd had.
"Hey. Where're your parents?"

Bruce Wayne had just stepped out for a quick dinner and was on his way back to Wayne Tower when he saw the boy on the sidewalk. He approached him with a frown. "Hey, there, kid," Bruce said with a nod. He glanced around for someone that might object to his talking to the child but saw no one. Bruce looked back down at the boy with a frown. "Are you out here on your own?"
"He can, but he might get tired from it, you know? We can't spend our lives up here, as much as we'd like to." He offered a gentle smile and then patted the kid on his top of his head. He doesn't mention the squeeze, but rather simply pulls you closer, hugging you to his chest so you'd feel safer as they continue to fly above the streets. "Well, I'm surprised you aren't. Do you like it up here?"
