Character Intro - Bruin Becker
“I’m fine,” Bruin responded, tearing Grant’s hand from his shoulder, and standing up. His vision spotted at the quick rising, though he did the best not to let it show. “I just- she…” he fumbled with his hands, “...that’s my corpse lying there. That’s my brains splattered on the wall.”
Bruin is, probably, the most “normal” out of the cast, having had a pretty normal life after his adoption. In fact, at first glance, he might even seem a bit boring- especially when comparing him to his roommate, Grant.
A man with a deep intuition and adoration of organisation, who can sometimes come off as harsh but ultimately just wants to be loved, and the biggest history need of them all.
However- like most things in the town of Lunewell- he should not be taken at face value, for as the time of slumber arrives, it becomes more apparent why Bruin works at the antique shop, and why he is further from normal than he would like.

OC-Tober day 9
Prompt: Mentor
The more I write him, the more I’m realising that Grant is basically my spirit animal. Also, finally seeing Bruin, who has been througly neglected thoright all of these.
As always, the prompts list I’m using comes form @oc-growth-and-development (:

Grant was skilled at a lot of things. He was a champion of trivia games, master of competitive Pokemon, and a pretty good singer, if he were to judge himself.
What he was not, was well coordinated.
This was no more apparent than at the moment, where he was swaying in a waltz about as elegantly as a drunk octopus.
“Left leg out, not right leg,” Bruin repeated for what felt like the millionth time, before going back to chanting 1, 2, 3 in time with the music under his breath.
Grant tried to follow the instruction, he really did, but instead, he ended up fumbling, and knocking both him and Bruin right to the floor.
He quickly got himself off his mentor's chest, and shot Bruin an apologetic smile.
“Wow,” Bruin just said, getting himself off the floor, “you’re such a bad dancer, that it’s impressive.”
“Clumsiness is truly my superpower,” Grant responded with a sigh. “Thank you for attempting to teach me, you have the patience of a saint.”
“I don’t mind,” Bruin said quickly, “I actually quite enjoy teaching. Especially ballroom dancing.”
“Say, how did you get so good at the waltz? I didn’t think you were the dancing type.”
Bruin got a small smile at that, and though harder to spot through his tanned complexion, Grant could swear he saw speckles of pink on his cheeks.
“I- I’m not, usually,” Bruin began, “but, when I was younger, I would watch a lot of historical dramas, and fantasise about living in a more elegant era.”
He met Grant’s eyes, “more specifically, I would- ah- dream of… well…” he fiddled a bit more with his hands, “...being twirled around on the dance floor, in a beautiful white suit, by a handsome prince or a beautiful Princess.”
Grant was a bit stunned, before he broke into a wide smile. “Awwww!” He cooed, “who knew our Bruin was such a romantic?”
“I thoroughly reject that notion,” Bruin said sharply, though the corners of his mouth were turned up, “and if anyone- I mean anyone- were to think the same thing, I can promise you that drowning is not a very peaceful way to go.”
“Don’t worry, my lips are sealed by the strongest superglue.”
Bruins heaved an eyebrow and gave him a look. “Ok, ok, maybe school glue and not superglue, but seriously, I will try not to tell a soul.”
Grant stretched out a hand, “now, let’s get back to our waltz lessons, so I can sway you around like the pretty prince you are.”
