It’s a big day today! I’ll be teaching a joint class with James Moore via zoom at 10am, followed by a Q & A. Then tonight the premiere of our piece “The Space Between Us” by Bruno Roque will happen at 6pm 😊 It’s such an strange, unsettling moment, but through it all @seattle_dance_collective has kept me grounded. Like always, the arts never fail me. Dance continues to guide me and I’m grateful everyday that I can contribute to the art form. In two days I will have the opportunity to perform “Anemnesis” by Bruno Roque at the inaugural festival, SOLO at @ontheboards As a performer I’m asked to fold myself into a works, taking on a task to be whatever the choreographer wants. Sometimes I feel more myself in the process, more authentic, and other times I asked to be someone else. For this special solo it will be the first time I get to tell a bit of my own story, one of loss, cope, and coming into awareness as a child. While it only scratches the surface of my life, choreographer, Bruno Roque has gathered inspiration from my childhood stories and brought my thoughts and emotions to life in the physical.
