I treated myself to the @realtechniques brush cleaning palette and brush cleaning gel before Christmas, have been using them for the last few weeks and wanted to share my thoughts... Before purchasing these I was using a small silicone facial brush/pad from Primark and Johnsons baby shampoo (one of my first photos from August 2015). They were working great but I needed a bigger cleaning surface for larger face brushes. The Real Techniques cleaning palette is great. The surface has different textures for all shapes and sizes of brushes. The sides of the palette are also raised so it's easy to work the shampoo into the bristles and easy to hold as it has a strap across the back. For very small or soft brushes I did find myself having to go back to my mini silicone pad though, as this is more flexible and gentle. The cleaning gel however...I am not a fan. It cleans some of the makeup off but not all, leaving my eyeshadow brushes still stained with the previous colour and my foundation brush still greasy with product. My eyeshadow brushes did feel clean but didn't look clean and after using the Real Techniques gel several times, I resorted to baby shampoo to get all the residue off. Overall, I'm happy with the cleaning palette but would not repurchase the gel cleaner.
