This is a delicate situation. To be too harsh with Cas would damage the relationship Sam has done so much to build. Maybe Cas and Dean had a greater bond but the guy was still an angel and that- no matter what- that mattered. To Sam. It meant something. Even after meeting God and learning most angels were dick bags it mattered.

“Sure” he smiles “we’ll go out later. I’ll help you find a date. We could all use a night out.”

The frown on the angel’s expression makes it clear that’s not what he wanted to hear.  Lowering the magazine he’d been flipping through (a dating one no less), he turns and gives Sam his complete attention.  “I don’t need to find a date.  I’m asking you to teach me.”  He has yet to see why Sam would want to find someone else to show him when he was right there already.  “You don’t have to do it right now, but I’m still curious over how it is or should feel.”

“Sure Cas, what’s the secret?” 

The angel stumbles forward, apparently having had enough drinks to make him loose.  He has a teasing smile, small and yet conveying some sort of playfulness that was rare in the angel.  His hands tangle in Sam’s shirt, pulling him down to his level.  The smell of alcohol hangs to his clothes and had he been speaking directly to Sam’s face, it would have been on his breath too.  Instead, he leans his head against Sam’s head, close to his ear.  “I think I love you.”  The words are whispered and jumbled as he slurred them out, barely holding back a hiccup.  “But, don’t tell anyone”, he leans back, drunken smile still there before he stumbles away from Sam.  With the amount of alcohol he’d had, it wasn’t likely he’d even remember this conversation come morning.

“Encroaching?” Yeah maybe Sam’s had too much to drink as well. One single word and he busts out laughing, arm on his stomach and the other on the table to catch his balance.

“Yes, encroa-hic-encrotching, Sam.  This is serious”, and yet the angel couldn’t manage to pronounce the word correctly from underneath the decently sized fort.  “You n-need to either leave or join...join my kingdom.”
