Hes hiding his arm in this shot. Corruption perhaps? Or something else?
I have some questions. (Mostly Rambles)
You know, out of everything in the finale the one thing that has been itching me about it is we did not get any real insight on corruption. @novantinuum original post on the theory said that Steven Corrupting would maybe give us the opportunity to explore the mystery of corruption because we really don't know much about it. And that idea was so fascinating to me.
However what we got seemed to have opened up even more questions about corruption. I Am My Monster was the first episode where we were not in Steven's perspective. He was practically so far gone that we the viewer could not follow him. So we were not able to know what Steven was experiencing while in Monster form.
Like, this is going to bother me because it boggles my mind. And the whole scene with White connecting with him and her saying that the Monster was not Steven anymore?? Like hello?? What does that mean?? I need to know.
All we can go on right now is after Steven is healed based on his reaction he seems to be confused of why everyone has their full attention on him. He seems to start to ask if he had hurt anyone and maybe even starts to say he was sorry. So, I'm wondering if he was at all aware of what was going on in Monster mode. Cause it doesn't seem like he does.
Also the way he ended up corrupting seems to be him thinking hes a monster and then turning into a monster. Some fans might come up with the conclusion that it was his body shapeshifting to his emotions. The other side points out that Blue Diamond says "Is he...corrupted?" But like she didn't even know about corruption so how would she know if he was corrupted. So its like a mix bag of was Steven corrupted or was it just his body shapeshifting?
And the way he turned back could have been his healing tears or it could have been him not feeling like a monster anymore after getting a few reassuring speeches from his love ones.
Like it really could have been either/or.
Like honestly I think they added the dialogue from Blue as actual confirmation that yes he is corrupted. Cause if it was shapeshifting Yellow's powers would have worked I think?? Maybe? Idk.
Someone please ask Rebecca cause man am I confused and facinated haha.
Parallel I noticed in Fragments from Little Homeschool. This episode is chalk full of parallels from the first episode. This youtube video here shows some other parallels from Little Homeschool.
Okay, here's my prediction.
So, apparently the two promo images are for the next two episodes which is wild. So what I am thinking is Steven, with his body reacting like hes in danger, the outburst will make plants be summoned as body guards for him and attacking any potential threats (just like Watermelon Stevens in the original series).
Take a look at the environment and the appearances of the Bush Stevens. They are big and intimidating (have kind of Greaser look to them).
We see a park bench, so maybe there were some bushes around the area that got hit with Steven's power to make them come to life to protect Steven?
And my prediction is that during the ambush (pun intended), Greg's van gets crashed/crushed. The gems show up to help protect Steven and Greg. (Maybe cause it looks like they are in the same area as Little Homeschool maybe they overheard or saw the comotion and came to help).
Then at the end of the episode we will see the "Leave me alone" scene which something will happen and Steven might run away.
Then we have Fragments.
With each week I always can't come up with a prediction of what's going to happen with the second episode they air (first Bismuth Casual, then Growing Pains, now Fragments), but I do associate these images with being in this episode.
Maybe it's just he ran away from home to Jasper and they train maybe? Like the last time we saw Jasper she stressed him out to awaken these pink attacks in the first place so thats probably not the best idea? And something goes wrong? Anyone's guess is better than mine.
I'm very anxious for these episodes. Each week my anxious meter has went up considerably.
Steven Universe Fear Here We Are~
Thinking about the leak for Together Forever.
I wonder if its gonna be like throughout the episode we know hes gonna propose or if he drops the bomb when he actually does it. Is it going to be a buildup plan or like a panicked last resort?
"Connie has a very clear vision of her future and Steven wants to make sure he's a part of it."
Rewatched Bismuth Casual to get some info. Connie seems to have been busy and might be on some sort of break from Cram School (or maybe a weekend off for hangouts). Being we haven't seen her since episode one's cameo showing her studying, she seems to have been busy a lot and very absent from Steven's life.
"When Connie and I were fighting to save the universe things were sort of easier. We were fighting the same fight, now it's like we're living different lives. I wonder if I am even her best friend anymore."
Hes been feeling like this for a couple months.
"Connie I'm sorry...I dont want to hold you back."
"I don't mind."
"You've got cram school, new friends, you're going places and I'm happy for you, but I feel like you're drifting away from me. I wish we could reconnect but...I DONT KNOW HOW TO SKATE."
"Skating is what you're worried about?"
This convo makes me feel Connie doesn't fully grasp what's going on with Steven. She's confused and misled into thinking he's just talking about skating in general. She does not realise Steven's issue I don't think.
And everyone who's heard the audio leak might have came to the same conclusion that the Stevonnie fusing in this episode might also have jumpstarted the idea of Steven wanting to be a permafusion. Stevonnie helped him connect with Connie again. Stevonnie solved a problem. For a moment he wasn't alone.
Plus the scene from the promo of seeing Ruby and Sapphire and whatever convo they have after unfusing. A recipe for disaster for sure.
Also a thing I noticed:
"I know you might think I'm being sentimental but this makes sense!"
Then we have a quote from Aquamarine:
"That's the problem with you fusions. Sooner or later, you will become sentimental."
Steven Universe Fear here we are.
Episode Titles Rambles:
In Dreams - where Steven probably starts experiencing night terrors. Can not wait to examine this boy's dreams. Yummy symbolism.
Bismuth Casual- some sort of Bismuth episode, pun. Have no clue what this could be about, but since the next episode maybe he makes rings with Bismuth? Idk
Together Forever - ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING NAME i know its the proposal episode. I know i wanted a throwback title to a older episode, this is not what i meant.
Growing Pains - according to the written leak, after the proposal is rejected is gonna be Steven's last straw before he starts corruption. This episode is probably him going to the doctor like in the promo.
And that leaves two episodes the week after and then the four part finale. So we can say we have potential for like 5 episodes of Corrupted boy.
And thats my ramble good day.
What if Steven exploded and all the stuff got slung to the cliff face?
Ive had explosion theory since I gathered this possible forshadowing for it:
"Of course! We're also going to need a space suit for Steven so he doesn't freeze or explode." Steven imitates an explosion. (Space Race)
"I told my parents you have a nuclear family!" "Nuclear?! Sure, they make stuff blow up sometimes, but that's because they're magic, not radioactive!" (Fusion Cuisine)
Steven Bomb
"So what does pink mean? Is Lars (Steven) gonna explode or something?" (Lars's Head)
For me explosion theory could mean a emotional explosion rather than a physical one, but still the shot makes me wonder where that crater would have came from.
What do you guys think?
Hospital??
