A text came in from Tyler, alarming you. It read, “hey, we still on for tonight?” You mentally slapped yourself. That day you made plans later to have a study night with Cyrus. He was really flunking in school and you promised him you would help him out with the subjects.
You felt like you were being pulled between your two best friends. You were all together once. Thick as thieves. The three Musketeers. It was all perfect. But then the two boys separated as it did involve Cyrus’s sister. Every time you mentioned Tyler to Cyrus, Cyrus would blow up and get angry with you. And every time you mention Cyrus to Tyler, Tyler would get insecure and quiet. He would hate it. So you pretended to not be friends with the other when you were hanging out with one. They may not have been friends together but that didn’t mean you couldn’t be friends with them.
“Hey what are you staring at?” Cyrus interrupted your thoughts.
You shook your head, “nothing.”
“Alright then, lets go!” He clapped his hands. “I got a feeling were going to be studying all night!” He wrapped his leather covered arms around you.
“All night?”
“Yep!”
You gulped, “oh no.”
You checked the clock five times that evening. It was 6 and you were anxious. You had to meet up with Tyler, you just had to. This was something he’s been looking forward to all week.
“-that's when I do the, um, y/n. Earth to y/n! What’s wrong with you today? You’ve been out of it.”
You had to find a way to be with Tyler and Cyrus at the same time. “Yeah I’m good. Can you give me a sec I have to use the bathroom?” You quickly fled and got ready for Tyler. Changing your clothes to a dress. You jumped out the window and left your old clothes folded on the toilet seat. “I can do this. I can do this.” You repeated to yourself. You finally made it to the restaurant and saw Tyler sitting by himself. You smiled as you walked up to him. “Hey.”
Tyler stood up, “hey.” You went up to him and kissed him lightly on the lip. (I CHOSE I CHOSE I CHOSE U ALL KNEW THIS WHY U SHOCKED WHY U SURPRISED. TYLER DOWN ALWAYS COMES FIRST FOLKS.)
“Sorry I’m late baby,” you held onto his hands as you and him talked. Already a lot of time has passed. “Would you give me a moment love I have to use the restroom.” You ran to the back and ran out the restaurant to your house. You jumped through the bathroom window again and barged into the room that Cyrus was in, out of breath. “Hi bestie!”
“Hey y/n so you take long shi*s-” Cyrus chuckled. “What the f*ck are you wearing?”
Your eyes widened, “what?”
“The dress? What up with that? And you smell like garlic bread. What did you do in that bathroom?”
You leaned against the door relaxed as you said, “oh this getup? Well I wanted to show you what I bought at the mall.”
“Y/n. Tell me the truth.” Cyrus knew you were lying.
You threw yourself on your bed, “okay. I’ve been secretly hanging out with you and Tyler.”
“Y/n!”
“No, you don’t get to be angry.” You pointed an accusatory finger at him. “Its not fair. I love you both dearly and its not fair that you guys force me to choose. I’m not doing that. If I can’t be with both than I don’t want to be with none.”
Cyrus grumbled as he scratched the back of his head. He sat beside you taking your hands in his. “Were you hanging out with him while with me?”
“I promised you this and I promised him, oh no.” You checked the clock. “The restaurant, the dinner. Oh my God I hate myself. The restaurant is about to close! I got to go back to him.”
“Wait, you and Tyler are a thing? How long were you in that bathroom?”
“Cyrus, no time for that I got to run back. I need to explain to Tyler.”
“C’mon. I’ll take you its faster.”
“You’re going to help me?”
Cyrus nodded and you hugged him tightly. “I love you bestie.”
“Yeah, yeah lets go get your prince charming.”
You showed up and surely the restaurant was closed but Tyler was still there, sitting at the parking lot, looking down.
“Babe,” you called to him but Tyler looked like he was crying.
“What do you want?”
“I’m so sorry Tyler. The truth is-”
“The truth is we were being d*cks to her. She loves you man and I know you love her too. She is my best friend and she wants to not lose our friendship. We can’t make her choose Tyler. She promised this day to you and to me. She couldn’t let us down. I won’t make you choose anymore y/n.”
“Yeah me neither.” Tyler smiled hugging you and kissing the top of your head. “You can be both our friends, well his friend but my girlfriend.”
You kissed Tyler and said, “hey why don’t we ditch this fancy restaurant and instead go to McDonalds.”
“Sounds good to me.”
