#SubwaySums Exhibition in NYC

For thousands of New Yorkers, the Subway is simply a means of getting from point a to point b on a daily basis. The iron horse gallops from station to station getting passengers to work, school and everywhere else in between. The Subway also possesses a culture of its own, from the architecture; the tiling, concrete, and lines of yellow paint, to the musicians, the panhandlers, the proselytizers and the straphangers themselves. Photographer and artist Bryon Summers captures this vibrance of the New York City Subway System in his #SubwaySums series, revealed at an exhibition space on the Lower East Side. His first gallery exhibition was complete with sounds from along the 6 train line, numbered prints of the platform edge underneath all of the photos. Learn more about #SubwaySums here.
