Transrail Lighting Stock Drops 7% Below Listing Price After IPO Oversubscription
Transrail Lighting's stock saw a sharp decline of 7% below its listing price following its debut on the stock exchange. The company's IPO had garnered strong investor interest, being oversubscribed by 80.80 times on the final day of the offer, which concluded on Monday. The ₹839-crore initial public offering (IPO) had set a price range between ₹410 and ₹432 per share. It raised ₹246 crore from anchor investors, with a mix of fresh issue shares and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of equity shares by the promoter, Ajanma Holdings Pvt Ltd.
The fresh issue proceeds are intended to meet increasing working capital requirements, fund capital expenditures, and support general corporate activities. Transrail Lighting, a prominent player in India’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) sector, specializes in power transmission and distribution, with integrated manufacturing capabilities for lattice structures, conductors, and monopoles.
Stock Trading Details
The company will be listed and authorized for trading under the 'B' Group of Securities, as announced by the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). A special pre-opening session (SPOS) for the stock will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024. After debuting, Transrail Lighting's shares began trading below the listing price, reflecting market volatility in the aftermath of its IPO.
