Beale Street Music Festival
Thousands of music lovers flocked to Tom Lee Park, for the single biggest musical celebration Memphis, TN will have this year, Beale Street Music Fest. For three full days, strangers become friends as they share blankets and gather together around stages to hear acts like Lenny Kravitz, Paramore, Wale, George Clinton, Hozier and of course, Ed Sheeran.
Ed Sheeran is pure musical genius! Before attending music fest, I had a healthy respect for Mr. Sheeran and his musical abilities. But, until you have experienced it live and for yourself, you cannot appreciate the depth of his talent. Sans, background singers, a band, or any of the many trappings we have become accustom to seeing during live music sets, he “wowed” us all.
From the youngest Beale Street Music Fest attendee to the oldest, we swayed to the sound of his voice. Like the call of a siren, Ed Sheeran held you under his spell. He rapped, sang, danced, and choreographed the audience into a unified dance frenzy. We smiled, cheered and danced along for over an hour. Not to discredit any of the other acts who participated in the fest but, truly the best was saved for last.
