Before the introduction of mobile phones in 2007,when the only phones in use were landlines this used to be a busy area. Just beyond that knee height hedge used to be where the pay phones were. I remember going there as a child and calling my dad. There was always a line where the payphones worked,slowly the Pre-Paid card phones were introduced. Back then swiping the card on the payphone and making a call was equivalent to the amazement of my first touch screen phone. Today that whole area is cordened off and I'm unsure if what the current structure is.
