I just want every weekend to be exactly like the Midwest Cup weekend. It was perfect.
Melinda: We are just getting a head start on our winter workouts. Haha
Danielle: Oh jeez that's a scary thought!
Melinda: I do NOT want to be behind in January. Mac is going to kill us!
Danielle: Yeah, that was really scary at the meeting when he said he'd be able to tell if we worked out or not... I'm just gonna accept that I'm gonna die.
Melinda: Orrrr get a head start!
Danielle: Well yeah i'm gonna try to, i just feel like i'm still gonna die!
Melinda: It will get easier though. And we will be sooooo in shape. Butts and brooms will be begging us for our photos!
I love quidditch.
I love this team so much. I cannot fully express how proud I am of us. So far we are undefeated, and we have won two tournaments. I don't know about you, but to me that's a pretty big deal.
The people on this team are by far some of my favorite people on the planet. I am beyond lucky to have such great friendships with them. Despite the fact that we are constantly teasing each other and making fun of each other, I know that it's out of friendship, and in reality these are some of the nicest people I have ever met.
Not only am I proud of my team, but I am also proud of myself. I have grown so much as a beater, and I'm happy that I was able to step up to the challenge when my team needed me. But the fact that I scored during the ten minutes that I chased at SQuiB reminded me that I still have skills in my favorite position as well. I do feel bad though, because in an attempt to get into another girl's head this weekend I had to make fun of her a little. I apologized after the match, and I'm sure she knew I was merely joking, but I still feel bad that I stooped so low. I also had to yell at another beater during the semifinal match. (Yep, that was me.) But seriously, when that much is at stake, and you are blatantly breaking the rules, I'm going to get pissed at you. It's just kind of embarrassing because so many people heard me.
The members of my team pride ourselves for being a good team that is also a nice team. There are so many great quidditch teams out there that are made up of jerks, and we actively strive to not be that way. I'm worried that with our recent success people are going to start seeing us differently. We have a target on our backs going into the Ohio State tournament in a couple of weeks, and I really want people to see us as an awesome team made up of amazing people.
