Happy Monday! Today is the first day of the #booktubeathon and I’m so excited to participate! I’m still recovering from jet lag so I didn’t manage to take pictures today, but I plan on taking them tomorrow. . . Today’s instagram challenge was to take a picture of the book that first got you into reading. There are so many books that kickstarted me into being the avid reader that I am today. The book that I remember that first got me into reading was the first #BoxcarChildren book. I still absolutely adore the story. I actually passed on my copy to my baby sister ♥️ Some other favorites are: ✨Fairest by Gail Carson Levine ~ oh my gosh I’ve read this book SO MANY times. Probably over 20. It’s so good! ✨ Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson - this was the first series that I accidentally read out of order. The first 2 books are my favorites ♥️ ✨Inkheart by Cornelia Funke ~ another favorite. I’ve read this series so many times. Specifically I’ve reread Inkheart SOOO many times. I’d love to do a reread eventually. ✨Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins ~ the books that continued to entertain me as I grew out of the middle grade genre. . . {swipe} Back in grade school, my twin sister had cancer. When she couldn’t come to school I was really lost but I was happy when I was able to travel to other worlds through reading. We loved to share our books and read them together. In the second picture, my grandpa is reading to Sarah and I one of my previous favorites: An American Girl short story from the perspective of Molly (my fave). I remember when he read this to us. Sarah was ill on the couch and I sat in his lap and we just listened to him read it out loud to us.
