he came for her. that simple fact cuts through all the pain in her body, the turmoil of her mind. for a few moments, it’s all that matters. he’s here. she whispered it over & over for all those years. reminded herself every day that no one would find her in that cell. no one would break down the lab doors and save her from hell. she was on her own. and the only person who would ever help her survive was herself. it’s a lesson she has carried with her even after claiming her freedom. it’s one she believed would be more relevant now than ever. yet there he is.
but so quickly, she is reminded why she isn’t the kind of person people save. eyes widen in horror when she watches the bullet rip through his flesh. him covered in crimson is a familiar sight, but it is so much more sickening when it’s his own blood. magnolia shakes her head. bound hands curl into fists as panic turns to anger. she can’t let this happen. it’s supposed to be different with him. there’s enough death tainting her soul. ❝ no. ❞ it’s a whisper at first. brittle. but she sees the men moving towards him and it makes her shout this time ❝ STOP! ❞
eyes shut tight and head dips down as the rage pours out of her. she can feel every mind in this room as if it was her own. and she reaches out for all but ray’s, feels for them with more precision than she has ever harnessed before. and then she strangles them. it seers through her own nerves but she doesn’t care. she doesn’t care how her own eyes bleed and crimson drips from her nose. just as long as they don’t get to take him away from her too.
