This one’s a doozy..

Wanted to make Lucille look a bit more unsettling for this. Instead of self sabotage by itself, this was also for Cuphead’s safety in order for the Devil to stay oblivious of them reuniting. Lucille can’t afford losing another friend to his “father”, so this was the best he could do for him, even if Cuphead can barely understand it, since he thought he’s given up years ago after his defeat. (Which was the last time these two saw each other.)
