I saw your post about questions. I have questions!! Er, one question. I wish I could think of more tbh.

- of course the partygoers hunt and eat wanderers/humans, but on Capri / Valravn's page it mentioned they joined a hunting party of wanderers to take down a host. Do wanderers often fight back or try to hunt down goers? And how often are they successful (if they do)?

(been binge reading your backrooms character bios and think their so so cool, I hope in the distant future when I finally try to update my own ocs on Toyhouse that they'll be a fraction as fleshed out and interesting as yours!!)

Howdy! :] Wanderers have gone after Partygoers in return, yes! It's mostly rogues though, away from their packs as a group of Partygoers is stronger than a group of wanderers (Their venom is super nasty even if you don't become assimilated.). Not only does there need to be the right timing, place, confirmation they're a rogue etc, but also the right weapons. Spears and other polearms are preferred as being at arm's length is asking to be bit. Though if they have the resources, liquid pain darts and mobile firesalt cannons can work as well. Lamprey was overthrown by his pack and outcast onto Level 37, where months later rumors spread of his existence outside Level Fun via The Hub/Bifrost.

A particularly bold group made the decision to rally up and attempt the journey to it and wipe him off the map since Hosts are considered extremely dangerous if hostile (The average Host is 9-18 feet tall and often possess unique traits and abilities/gifts which normal Partygoers don't. That and Host venom is more potent than regular Partygoer venom. I'm sure there's those who were interested in selling it for poisons/weapons too.). A Host without a pack is viewed as opportunity, even if they'll eventually be replaced again.

AND TYSM!! I'm so happy people enjoy my characters and their stories. I've worked super hard on them, and am still actively working behind the scenes. I absolutely love your's as well, and am excited to see those bios when they eventually come to fruition!

whats some head cannons you have about how the backrooms in general?

Yeesss...

Mentioned in the Sentinels post, it's a sort of force of nature/semi-living thing? I also call the Superstructure the Void on occasions, which is what all the levels themselves are within. Like a bubble? It's full of dead stuff and living stuff and inanimate stuff and it's capable of recycling and transmutating things into other things. Individuals who are made up of this "cosmic junk" are known as constructs. This is also how the Backrooms itself came to be. It's as old as our known universe because it formed as a reflection of it. Explanation for why everything looks so similar to our world. Not much is known about it even then though, it's fairly anomalous and mysterious. I haven't explored it much but there's likely wanderers and entities who worship the Void/Superstructure.

New beast, Trinket (they/them)! @partygore told me I should keep them (I make adopts regularly and they were going to be one of them, but we got attached lol)

They’re apart of Zinnia’s pack! They facilitate arts and crafts and are one of the primary Partygoers who’s collaborated on designing her slings. Energetic but gentle and knows when to be calm (Though they do have a lighthearted mischievous side) quite vocal and good with the pups/younger Partygoers. They absolutely adore Trinket’s strange tail, which mimics a dragon’s head! Helps them learn how to create in various artistic mediums, such as paint, papercraft, sewing and more! Much of their skills were both from pre-assimilation, and taught by Zinnia herself. Like the rest of her pack, Trinket is highly loyal to her. Has one fang which is larger than the other, and hangs out like a snaggletooth as a result. Body is heat sensitive (Think like mood rings), meaning you can trace designs onto it. Trinket’s hide has been used as a coloring book many of times. It doesn’t harm them though. Average venom levels, however rarely uses it, preferring to cold store it for use in venom antidote, as Zinnia’s pack do not actively assimilate for the sake of gaining more members.

Trinket goes missing during the war, and is presumed dead since, though unconfirmed.

soooo I was reading through your OC lore and I want to know- what are Sentinels? Because they seems cool/silly

RUBS HANDS TOGETHER EVILLY...SOMEONE FINALLY ASKS... >:] Below the cut, it's A LOT

Sentinels are pseudo-mammals (Think pangolins and armadillos if you want a specific animal comparison on appearance, they're not reptiles even with their scales!) made up of frankenstein'd parts of dead wanderers and entities. In my personal headcanon (Shared with oomfie Hollow/partygore), the Backrooms/Superstructure itself is a simultaneously living and non-living construct, beyond human recognition. It has the ability to take old, dead flesh and absorb it into itself, repurposing it in the creation of specific entities. All entities were originally created this way, however a majority of said individuals have long since died (Present-day's entities were created via reproduction, whether it be asexual or otherwise, varies from entity to entity.)

This is, of course, with the exception* of Sentinels; though no new Sentinels have been recorded being 'born' (Theorized the 'limit' has been reached.). They noclip into the world covered in blood and viscera, scaleless skin mottled in appearance. Very prone to disease and death at this stage, it's crucial they're immediately taken to a space where they can rest and be protected. Many cannot walk properly in this stage and must be taught that too. They're capable of holding their own within a couple of months to a year.

All Sentinels are 'born' on Level 52 (Two variants exist. Polar, born to 52B, and standard, born to 52A.) and were created with the sole purpose of guarding and caring for the other entity they cohab with; Partypoopers. Some choose to be guards, others medics, some glorified babysitters for the children whose parents are busy scavenging or partaking in other duties (Sentinel caretakers will have a certain number of Partypooper 'pups' in their possession at a time. This can swap around quite often, groups trading depending on various factors. A great majority of Partypoopers aren't the best parents, but this is required for their survival considering where they live, even on a safe, stocked level like 52.).

Sentinels must constantly be working, or they'll physically and mentally deteriorate. They can live for over 250 years, but many die early due to understimulation, and several have died during the war. The 'Fun War' caused them to scatter, and they no longer have a designated native level (Only Odinn remains, withering away on her once shining throne, refusing to let go of the past.).

Sentinels partner with one another (Or other entities) for life and will remain loyal even after death, refusing to partner again. If one is feeling extreme emotions or dying, their colors begin to fade. Sentinels can be revived using large amounts of blood, but the corpse must be immediately transferred to a cold space to not be disturbed. Sentinels do not begin decomposing for decades unless tampered with. Despite this, it is incredibly disrespectful and frowned upon to revive a Sentinel who died of grief or natural causes. Resuscitation is rare, needing proper bloodwork and a large number of willing participants, only a handful of successful revivals are recorded.

PHYSICAL CHARACERISTICS OF ALL SENTINELS:

At least 2 heads, rooted directly into their brain. Can have up to 6 heads. Lenses with any shaped/colored pupil sit within these heads. Sentinel brains are stored in a sturdy neck stump, near impossible to break. Heads are fragile in comparison, defended profusely during a fight. If a head is pulled at or crushed, Sentinels can suffer mild to extreme brain damage.

Thick, near-impenetrable scales covering their backs, smaller ones across their bodies. (Polar Sentinels have large spines/studs jutting out just beneath their tails). All scales are made up of organic metals. Sentinel scales can shed and be gifted. It's considered a very intimate gesture to gift scales, reserved for partners, family and closest friends. Aforementioned scales have the ability to be forged into strong armor and weaponry, making them a valuable but rarely seen find.

Fur on their underbellies, around their neck stumps and on their wrists (Only with Polar variants.). Fur sheds when stressed and can disappear for years.

Shoulder and hip spines (More noticeable on Polar variants.).

Specialized breathing vents lining their sides.

Varying in height from 7-10' tall (Standard) and 11-16' tall (Polar). Taller and shorter can exist, with the tallest recorded Sentinel referring to herself as 'Vega' at 18' tall.

1-3 pairs of arms.

Large, strong claws for digging.

Any muscular or chubby body type. A skinny Sentinel is a sickly/understimulated Sentinel.

Sentinels lack biological sex and reproductive organs. Their digestive systems are notably also incomplete, ending at the small intestine, which breaks down any food/liquid not disintegrated by their strong stomach acids and converted immediately into energy.

The ability to switch between a quadrupedal and bipedal position.

A mouth located just beneath their chests, lined with sharp, conical teeth. Seamlessly closes, not visible unless a Sentinel is threatened or eating.

Natural markings of any sort. If a Sentinel is born with low-visibility or no markings, they'll paint them on themself.

Warm-toned skin (Standard variant) or cool-toned skin (Polar variant). Do not stray far from grey and darker tones (Unless leucistic or albino.) and are never bright, saturated colorations.

Rarely, mutations can come about, also called 'gifts'. They come in two forms; Maelstrom and Firebane.

Firebanes have a special flammable coating on their scales and teeth. They can self-combust and breathe fire with the clicking of their teeth/scales (Odinn is a firebane.). They're an extreme version of the unmutated Sentinel, which can only heat their scales to extreme levels. All members of the species radiate an ambient heat, comforting when not enraged or afraid.

Maelstroms have a velvety layer of fur on their scales, microscopic thin. They conduct extreme static electricity by rubbing their scales together.

*Many humans still become entities this way, however true constructs no longer exist aside from Sentinels.

If I end up remembering something else about them, I'll reblog and add onto this, I hope reading my ramblings is entertaining, I adore these fellas and they're the result of almost three years of worldbuilding and roleplay! I do not allow the creation of Sentinels for anyone else other than close friends for personal reasons, I ask anyone reading this do not create one of their own as a boundary. You can take inspiration though, I don't own the idea of anthro camera head monsters!

Got any about smilers? (Or the other shadow creatures/entities that are related)

(Also any extra 'goer/partypooper HC's you haven't shared yet?)

I DO HAVE SMILER HEADCANONS! :D Below the line it's a lot, haha

-Smilers, Frowners and Rattlers are subspecies of one another. I have this older art which gives a general idea of what I mean, but this is older art. I've been meaning to make a new one. Not much will change I just wanna improve on it.

-Mammalian-esque (Pseudomammal. Possess some but not all aspects of mammals).

-The little 'horns' on their head aren't horns or ears. They're additional muscle structures that allow them to express better. Their actual ears are on the sides of their head, and don't have an outer portion.

-Knucklewalkers, though they can walk upright if necessary.

-Capable of speech and are intelligent on a human/wanderer level. Not all are willing to actually talk, with Frowners being the most willing. Those who have not been taught spoken language by either entities or wanderers communicate with gestures, growls, hisses and clicking sounds.

-Faces are bioluminescent. Can flash, dim and brighten. Skin of all three is only visible in certain light levels, making them appear as only faces if not in full/partial light. Also possess bioluminescent dots along their body used for intimidation.

-Can have fur but don't always have fur

-Rattlers, if aggressive, have the ability to let out low, booming calls which temporarily stun any nearby creatures due to its audio frequency. They prefer scavenging and digging for their food but are the most territorial of the three.

Some Partypooper/Partygoer stuff I don't think I mentioned before!

-Partypooper venom neutralizes Partygoer venom. Aside from decisions made by a few of the Hosts in me and Hollow's rp/storyline, this is one of the reasons the Fun War is initiated.

-Partypoopers have claws developed for climbing rough surfaces like trees. They have very good balance and can sit on narrower branches easily. Their bodies are also acclimated to climbing head-first down.

-Hosts were originally melded/created by the Superstructure, though all current generations are Partygoers who've been assimilated into Hosts after the death of previous generations.
