Three weeks ago today, my Dad and I had the joy of singing with The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. I am so excited to share these photos for the first time, featuring the 11:00 a.m. service, when we sang with the BT MASS Choir! I pray my reflective words below will encourage you this evening. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart." As a little girl, I listened to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, wondering if I would ever have the opportunity to travel to New York to hear them sing. Four years after my Mom passed away, my Dad and I decided that we would travel to NYC for the first time to worship at Brooklyn Tabernacle, in lieu of Christmas gifts. My Mom loved holidays, so the void of her not being with us left a major dent in our holiday plans, despite our best intentions to make the holiday merry and bright. This was the first time I could remember being fully invested, completely overjoyed about Christmas, since the last time my Mom was with us for the holiday. I felt as if a weight had been lifted off of my chest the moment I walked through the doors. Christmas was Christmas again! It was certainly not a coincidence that the Brooklyn Tabernacle Christmas program that year was titled, “Christmas Once Again.” God uses all sorts of things to speak to us, even three simple words written on a church bulletin. Since our first trip to New York, God has allowed us to worship at Brooklyn Tabernacle many times. Some people travel to New York for the Statue of Liberty or Empire State Building. Others visit to “shop until they drop,” or to try the plethora of popular hangouts for foodies. While these aspects of New York are enjoyable, nothing could ever compare to being in the presence of Jesus Christ. The special anointing within the walls of this sanctuary is truly like a little piece of Heaven on earth. While I have always loved worshiping at Brooklyn Tabernacle, it has always been my desire to have the opportunity to minister alongside the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. God gave me the desire of my heart. The greatest aspect was the honor of glorifying the name of Jesus Christ! He is my everything! #BTMusicCon2017
