this is an odd headcanon, but i can totally see Purple being the kind of guy to have a Specific Sauce that he puts on all his food (or having had one in the past). Something like ranch, hot sauce, mustard, etc, that he just puts on literally anything.

Alternatively, he has foods that he absolutely hates and refuses to eat, not because they taste or feel bad or anything, but because he had one (1) bad experience with it once and now won't touch it

absolutely. although the first headcannon makes him sound like a fiend. I'm here for it though.

So I saw someone else just ask if anyone will ever see the silly side of purple and I was wondering if you had any personal headcanons for purple in this fic that you have yet to share? Totes fine if not I’m just really curious (I love BTO sm 😭🫶)

YES okay so this is off the top of my head so i can’t remember if they’ve been mentioned before or not but i just wanna share

Purple was a kid who was really invested in space. he wanted to be an astronaut, had the little star protection light in his room, etc. part of this fascination is definitely from the fact that he never had the ability to see the sky as a kid, since he was underground. (this reminds me of a scene that i had an idea for… but idk if i’ll add it!)

Purple did actually attend a Yokai public school when he was younger. he does have documentation, and he is a legal citizen (of the Hidden City). draxum pulled him out of school after bullying due to his scars (thought mostly it was because the Council of Heads was getting on his ass and he didn’t want to put Purple at risk of being targeted.) He had private tutors and at least some formal education. He a smart boy!

Purple has a tendency to over apologize. I feel awkward adding this in dialogue because (even though you cannot talk to me without hearing me say “i’m sorry” at least 15 times) i think it breaks the flow and would be a little annoying to read.

Dude gets so excited when he knows the answer to a question. someone will be like “ugh why does x have to be this way” and he’ll push up his glasses and say “WELL ACTUALLY”. not because he’s mean or anything, but because he genuinely likes to divulge information.

Purple will burn the ends of his mask off. Yes, he knows there are scissors. No, he doesn’t need them. also he’s an edgy 14 year old so he absolutely will draw a slit in his drawn on eyebrows.

Purple likes to fuck with Leo. I said this in the Discord but I absolutely think Leo would say some mundane saying like, “I’m so hungry i could eat a horse!” and purple would whip around in horror and respond, “You would WHAT? Do you KNOW how offensive that is to horse yōkai?!”

i don’t remember the context for this but i think it’s still funny:

"I could use my bombs."

"WHY DO YOU HAVE BOMBS?!"

"Tsk. Youve clearly never blown anything up before."

purple has moments of over/under stimulation where he will just bang his hands on a table. i think this would be so funny to hear in the middle of the night and leo just walks in and is like “jesus what are you doing??”

purple is very sensitive to sound. he relies on sound to ground him, to keep him calm, but it can also be his worst nightmare.

purple watched black butler. idk when or why but he did. oh and undertale.

he grew up in Game Theory. i don’t care if he doesn’t like humans, it’s entertaining and he’s a fucking nerd.

absolutely!

a lot of what’s to follow will be the boys being boys. just general kid stuff. it’ll be awkward for Purple at first but at some point it’ll become more of the norm rather than the exception for him to crack jokes.

Could you make a reference sheet for the muzzle draxum used? In one chapter it mentions “the teeth closing in on him” and i think it would be cool to see the muzzle from the inside, and have more info on how it works

I have a hard time drawing it but I can try a bit later. I'll try to write out a description.

The muzzle looks like an ordinary mask made from metal with leather straps that tighten around the head and on top of the head. The muzzle itself is a shade of muted, dark blue. Lighter blue vein-like metal protrudes at the top and comes down to the bottom on the mask, looking similar to the vines Draxum can control. A small light is on the left side of the muzzle, glowing a bright red when a disobedience is detected.

The muzzle is magic, not completely mechanical. It can only be put on and removed by someone with a specific spell, and the parameters of the muzzle is set by the one who puts it on.

There's no real teeth that hurt the victim, just an invisible magic pain that feels like something is digging into your skin. The severity of this pain varies depending on the offense. This should not leave a mark or permanent damage.

The muzzle and items similar to it were advertised in the Hidden City as corporal punishment devices that wouldn't permanently hurt your child, but was discontinued after research showed adverse affects on children. They can still be bought but only by second hand sellers. The muzzle Draxum uses is a hand me down from his childhood.

I think if Canon Turtles ever met BTO Turtles Donnie would mention being on the spectrum in the same breath Purple would mention finding gender neutral pronouns appealing. They should both have an identity crisis its only fair /lh

i know this isnt an ask but its absolutely treacherous how many times i have to draw purple in different styles every chapter that gets released 😭 (due to looking at the old art and being like. is this SILLY enough?) i have to draw him so he is visualize able (if i dont have something to look at multiple times i forget what they look like) and when i draw him i will look at the old drawings so i can compare which is better

(he always looks very silly in my recent ones i think also sorry this is so long idk where to say this)
