WHO: Jace Pearce and Danielle Anderson 

WHAT: Zombie Apocalypse prompt 

WHEN: Evening 

WHERE: In their house

SUMMARY: AU Verse!Jacelle. Danielle and Jace discuss their broken engagement while trying to survive through the night. 

DANI

Danielle mounted the last piece of wood to the window, securing it in place before she pressed the nailgun to it. She wanted to make sure that there was no way any zombies could get inside the house. She checked the locks on each door for the second time before cleaning up all her materials. Danielle never felt like a stranger in her own home until a few days ago when she called off her engagement to Jace. They have been fighting for a while now, usually over small things, like not replacing the milk or washing the dishes. But, those fights always escalated to Danielle’s doubts about their engagement or Jace’s concerns that Danielle was never going to commit. So, honestly Danielle didn’t know why calling off their engagement was such a surprise. And, if she knew that there was going to be a zombie apocalypse the next day, she probably would have thought things through more.

Danielle probably let her own insecurities about their relationship get in the way of their potential marriage, but there was no time to relive the past since they now have to worry about surviving another night in their home. As Danielle walked into the living room, she saw Jace sitting on the couch. She can’t remember the last time they had spoken more than two words to each other since she called off their engagement, but maybe tonight they would be able to have a civil conversation. “All the windows are bordered, and the lights are off, I think we are safe for another night. I only see about five from the upstairs window, so maybe they have moved on to another area for awhile.” Danielle whispered as she leaned on the doorframe to the living room. “Hopefully, this will be over in a few days, and we can…start our lives again, I guess.”
