Note: Once again, apologies, but owning my own business that has now acquired two new contracts has been keeping me busy. Not to mention, it's nearly Christmas. So I hope this will tie you over until I get back on track.
The world was dark and quiet when the first flakes came.
Grace woke to the soft crackle of the baby monitor and the low, uncertain whimper that meant Bora was somewhere between asleep and awake, but not entirely pleased. For a second, she lay still, eyes closed, brain foggy. Then the sound came again, a tiny hiccup of a cry.
“I’ve got her,” she mumbled, already pushing back the duvet.
Beside her, Seokjin made a faint noise that might’ve been agreement or might’ve been a snore. Grace smiled in the dark and slipped out of bed, feet finding her slippers by muscle memory.
The house in Seoul was calm in that particular way, only the middle of the night could be. No traffic hum, no neighbours’ doors, just the heater clicking faintly and the distant buzz of the fridge downstairs. The digital clock on the bedside table had blinked 2:41 as she’d passed it.
Bora’s room was down the hallway, the door left slightly ajar. Grace nudged it open with her shoulder and stepped into the soft glow of the nightlight shaped like a little moon. The baby was rolling restlessly in her crib, fists balled up, face scrunched as if she wasn’t sure if she wanted to cry or argue with someone in her dreams.
“Hey, hey,” Grace whispered, leaning over to scoop her up. “What’s all this about? It’s the middle of the night, you menace.”
As soon as Bora’s cheek landed on her mother’s shoulder, she quieted, thumb finding her mouth. Grace swayed gently, patting her back, breathing in the familiar warm-milk-and-baby-lotion smell.
“See? Nothing to be mad about,” she murmured. She turned toward the window, more out of habit than anything, and then stopped.
The small square of glass was glowing.
Not brightly. Just a soft, strange light that didn’t belong to the streetlamps. Grace frowned, stepping closer, adjusting Bora’s weight on her hip.
The garden outside was white.
For a second, her sleepy brain didn’t process it. The last she remembered, the grass had been a dull brown-green, the deck bare, the trees skeletal against the December sky. Now everything was softened. The little patch of lawn, the hedges along the fence, the wooden steps leading down from the back door, everything lay under a smooth, pale layer.
Snow.
Grace blinked, properly awake now. Flakes were still drifting down, a steady, gentle fall that caught the light from the motion-sensor lamp and made the air look full of tiny sparkles.
“Oh,” she breathed, more to Bora than anyone. “Look at that.”
Bora made a sleepy grumble, then lifted her head just enough to blink at the window, eyes unfocused but curious.
“It’s snowing, honey,” Grace whispered. “Your first snow.”
The words settled over her with a little jolt. It hadn’t really clicked until she said it out loud.
First snow.
She’d known it would come eventually, of course. It was December in Seoul; winter was properly here. But she hadn’t expected it at 2:41 in the morning, with her hair a mess and Bora half-asleep in her arms and her slippers on crooked.
Maybe that made it better.
She kissed the top of Bora’s head and gently settled her back into the crib. “Stay there. Don’t move. Don’t grow up without me,” she murmured, tucking the blanket around her. Bora wriggled once, thumb still firmly in her mouth, but her eyelids were already drooping again.
Grace padded back down the hallway and into the bedroom. Min-ji was curled into a tight ginger spiral at the foot of the bed, tail over his nose. Seokjin was on his back, mouth slightly open, breathing deep.
“Jin,” Grace whispered, leaning over him. “Jin. Wake up.”
He made a noise that sounded like “don’t want more kimchi,” and rolled his head to the side.
She smothered a laugh. “Kim Seokjin. Wake up. It’s snowing.”
One eye cracked open. “What?” he croaked.
“It’s snowing,” she repeated. “Properly snowing. And it’s Bora’s first snow.”
That did it. Both eyes blinked open, still heavy with sleep but interested now. “First snow?” he asked, voice softer.
“Yes.” She jerked her head toward the window. “Come see.”
Minutes later, they were both downstairs in the living room, wrapped in hoodies and sweatpants, socks thick and mismatched. Grace had peeked in on Bora again; the baby had drifted back into a light sleep, the monitor showing her tiny chest rising and falling.
They stood by the big glass doors that opened onto the back garden and just stared.
The world beyond the glass looked like it belonged in a postcard. Their small garden, usually so ordinary, was transformed: the grass smooth and white, the deck coated, the potted plants wearing little snow caps. The neighbour’s roofs, the fence, the branches of the tree near the back, all softened.
The Christmas tree in the corner of the living room cast a warm glow, its lights reflecting faintly in the glass. Outside, the snow continued to fall, thick and lazy, transforming the whole scene into something hushed and unreal.
“It’s beautiful,” Grace said quietly.
Seokjin slipped an arm around her waist. “Namjoon’s going to wake up and write three poems about this,” he murmured.
She huffed a soft laugh, leaning into him. “He can borrow my view. As long as I get credit.”
For a moment, they just stood there in comfortable silence, watching the flakes drift down.
“Let’s wake her up,” Seokjin said suddenly.
Grace turned to stare at him. “Wake her up? She just went back to sleep.”
“It’s her first snow,” he said, eyes wide and earnest. “We can’t just tell her about it tomorrow. She has to see it. We’re her parents. This is our job.”
“She’s eight months old,” Grace pointed out, but she was already smiling.
“Exactly,” he said, as if that proved his point. “Prime first snow age.”
She sighed, dramatising it more than she felt. “If she stays awake until sunrise, you’re on duty.”
“Deal,” he said instantly.
Waking Bora the second time took a little more effort. She frowned in her sleep as Grace gently lifted her from the crib, making small protesting noises that faded as soon as she felt a familiar chest under her cheek.
“Hey, baby,” Grace whispered. “I know. It’s rude. But I promise it’s for a good reason.”
They didn’t bother changing her out of her sleep suit; they just pulled a tiny knitted jumper over it and wrangled her into a padded snowsuit on the nursery floor while she blinked at them in hazy confusion. Her hair stuck up in soft tufts, and her cheeks were flushed from sleep.
Min-ji followed them downstairs, offended at being left out, then immediately lost interest when the heater kicked on and created a warm spot on the rug.
In the living room, Seokjin slid the glass door open just a crack. A rush of cold air swept in, sharp and clean, carrying that faint metallic scent of snow. Grace tightened her hold on Bora.
“Ready?” he asked.
“No,” Grace said. “But do it anyway.”
They stepped out together onto the small wooden deck. The cold hit instantly, biting at Grace’s nose and the tips of her ears, slipping under her hoodie. She huddled closer to Seokjin on instinct.
Bora stiffened for a second at the temperature change, then relaxed again, curiosity slowly waking up behind her dark eyes.
The garden was even quieter out here. The snow-muted world had a sound all its own, a sort of soft, background hush. Snowflakes landed in Bora’s hair, on the shoulders of her snowsuit, on Seokjin’s lashes.
“Look, Bora,” Seokjin said softly, angling her so she faced the garden. “That’s snow.”
One flake settled right on the bridge of her nose. Bora’s eyes crossed trying to look at it as she lifted a mittened hand, fingers flexing awkwardly inside the fabric, and then reached out. A flake landed on the back of her glove and melted almost instantly.
She stared at the wet spot like it had personally offended her.
“It’s cold, huh?” Grace chuckled. “Cold and disappearing. Welcome to life.”
“You’re so dramatic,” Seokjin muttered, but his smile was soft.
They stood there for a few minutes, letting Bora soak in the sight: the white garden, the falling flakes, the strange bright darkness of the early hours. She made small sounds now and then, half-babbles, half sighs, eyes tracking the motion as best she could.
Grace’s chest felt tight in that good, aching way. She thought of her own childhood winters in Manchester, of nose prints on windows in Germany, of watching snow fall from dormitory windows when she was a trainee, too tired to go outside but unable to look away.
She thought about younger versions of herself making silent wishes on first snows without ever imagining this particular future: a house in Seoul, a sleepy baby in her arms, Seokjin pressed warm at her side, the tree lights blinking behind them.
“Make a wish,” she said suddenly.
He glanced at her. “We’re not twelve.”
“Don’t disrespect tradition in my presence,” she replied, bumping his hip with hers. “It’s Bora’s first snow. You have to.”
He looked back at their daughter. A flake landed on her eyelashes; she blinked, startled, then made a tiny content sound, thumb seeking out her mouth again.
“All right,” he said quietly. “I wish she always has somewhere warm to come back to. No matter how cold it gets out here.”
Grace swallowed. “That’s a good one,” she said, voice softer. “You’re annoyingly good at this.”
“What did you wish?” he asked.
She hesitated, then shrugged one shoulder. “That she gets to see snow in all the places I did. England, Germany, here but with less falling on her face.”
As if the weather heard her, a flake landed squarely on Bora’s lips. The baby startled, smacked her mouth a few times, then looked mildly betrayed.
Grace laughed, the sound bright in the quiet night. “Okay, maybe not.”
They didn’t stay out long. The cold crept in quickly, and Bora’s eyes were already drooping again, the fresh air and strangeness of it all tiring her out.
Back inside, the warmth hit instantly, fogging the glass where they’d just stood. The snow outside looked even more magical from the other side of the door.
Grace unzipped Bora’s snowsuit on the sofa, fingers fumbling a little now that the rush of “we’re doing this” had faded. The baby’s body was warm and heavy, her eyelids fluttering.
“Did you like it, bb?” Grace murmured. “Your first snow at 3 a.m. You’re welcome.”
Seokjin stroked Bora’s tiny hand with his thumb. “She’ll sleep like a rock now,” he said. “Fresh air. Night adventure. Very exhausting.”
They carried her back upstairs, tucked her into her crib, and stood there a moment longer just listening to her breathing even out.
Back in their own bed, Grace lay on her side facing the window. Through the small gap in the curtains she could still see the faint glow from outside, snow falling over their little piece of Seoul.
Seokjin slid an arm around her waist, pulling her back against him. “Tomorrow,” he mumbled into her hair, already half-asleep again, “we’ll take her out in the daytime. Build a snowman. Proper photos with the boys.”
The house sighed around them, warm and safe. Outside, the first snow of the season fell gently over the roof, the garden, and the little room where their daughter slept, quietly tucking the night away under a blanket of white.
The Bangtan Gal Chapter 95- BREAKING!! BTS' Jennie & Jungkook DATING!?
Chapter Summary: JenKook pull a Dispatch and go public with their relationship. Marvel scouts Jennie after her MAMA Award performance and Jen wearing a moo moo dress leads to some spicy consequences.
Words: 13,000+
Genre: Mainly fluff. A dash of smol smut
Author's Note: Writer's block is the WORST. Godddd I was NOT expecting to take this damn long to update. Life got so busy. I am so sorry again for taking forever but I have been thinking about my stories and what I want to write next. I hope this one can hold you for a bit.
For this chapter, I apologize in advance for some hurtful words written for this regarding JenKook. You know how it is when idols reveal their relationships and that negative side of the fanbase hits. But I truly believe the positive will outweigh it all. Also, I have been considering Jennie's social media break to be longer. So instead of the Billboard Awards 2017, I want it to be even longer than that. Maybe until 2018. I think people will begin to say how much they miss her social media presence and what she would post when talking about certain things happening around 2017. Also it is great to take social media breaks.
Also warning about talking about fan hate and threats and ect.
We're talking Marvel in this chapter and the Marvel character is an Original Character, not a real comic book character just an FYI.
All right, enjoy!

Meanwhile, Mina and Jihyo from Twice were in a van with the other members, leaving the show. The two giggled amongst themselves as they excitedly read the posts revealing JenKook's relationship. It finally happened. The secret was out, and it was on their terms. They were so happy for their friends. The whole industry was shaken up by the news as they saw them both being the number one trends on social media platforms.
"They actually did it!" Mina beamed.
"I hope they're going to be okay. This is shaking up the industry, a lot," Jihyo said with worry.
"Any update from the group chat?"
"Yeah! Jennie and Jungkook just haven't responded yet."
The two looked at the 97 Liner group chat to see lots of memes and supportive messages towards the couple. On Jen's Instagram post regarding her relationship with Jungkook, her friends were quick to send comments of love and support
ItzAngelinaa: REAL LOVE! I love you, sis!

--------
"Honey?" Jungkook whispered, causing Jennie to stir and open her eyes. "We landed,"
Landed.
Back in Seoul. Back home. Hoo boy...
Once they step foot off the plane, there will be no more peace. And their lives as they knew them were going to change forever.
'Congratulations, Jennie. Half the world wants to be you and half the world wants to kill you for dating the Golden Maknae.' Jennie thought with amusement after thinking about what she and the others had done before she deleted all her social media apps from her phone.
Doomscrolling was an issue for her when she first got fan hate during her debut. She grew out of it and has been pacing herself more regarding social media. But after this big announcement, all platforms were bound to be a toxic warzone. She could see it now. Fans defending her and fighting with others, haters sending gross and racist messages, the whole package. She did not want to see that bullshit. And despite true fans flooding her comment section with positive messages to drown out the negativity, she just wanted to step away from screens for a while and look at the world around her, through her eyes.
How long would this break be? She had no idea, but she already felt free after taking that big step to delete everything.
Miss Bangtan stretched and let out a sigh as the anticipation grew. This was going to be a long night. A long week. A long month. Probably a long rest of the year, and next year, after the bombshell they just dropped with the support of their friends and the company.
She was going to take a hiatus from Fan Signs and other fan events with Bangtan. She decided to keep to herself while still being a part of the group, doing the upcoming tour, and other promotions. It was rare for something like that to happen, but it was nice that the company allowed this. She wanted to take a step back. Be a bit more low-key and just work. Work on music, singing, dancing, and other hobbies. She'll always love the fans, but a break from everyone was heavily needed to protect her mental health as she planned to surround herself with her trusted circle and family.
'You're going to be OK,' she thought as she watched people begin gathering their items and standing up from their seats.
Off the plane, Bangtan gathered their bags and began to walk through the airport. As expected, hundreds of fans, as well as media and Dispatch, were already there, waiting to get the latest scoop on the newly revealed couple. Dispatch was mortified. They were not expecting JenKook to reveal their relationship on their own. The company was working on the big scoop for months, but due to the couple's strategic steps in being one step ahead of them, it ruined the plan. This caused them to immediately release whatever information they pulled from watching them, way earlier than usual. This hasty decision had also caused fans to point out their mistakes that Jungkook himself corrected in his GCF.
The moral of the story is, Dispatch fucked around and found out. And the Golden Duo is always one step ahead. The thought made Jennie smirk in satisfaction. JenKook felt a huge sense of victory knowing that they beat Dispatch. Serves them right after being so nosy and ruining people's privacy. Couples should have the right to announce their relationship on their terms. What if they don't even want to reveal it to the public? They shouldn't be outed at all. The two wanted to reveal their relationship a bit later, but it was nice not to have to be so subtle with their love in public. Jungkook himself was eager to hold her without a care for who sees now.
Standing next to Jungkook, Jen could hear the loud screaming and cheering from afar.
"Oh boy," she murmured as butterflies hit her stomach.
"Own that shit, girl," Angelina nudged her with a smile. "Keep your head up high and show off your man. You have someone who has loved and cherished you for a long time. Also, never forget that you are surrounded by people who love you. Don't let any outsiders change that. We got you,"
"Hell yeah, I will," Jen firmly nodded. "Thanks, sis,"
With a comforting hand on the small of her back, Jen looked up to see Jungkook smiling in reassurance, causing her nervousness to continue to subside slowly. Jungkook was nervous too, but being close to her side made him feel at ease as they prepared for this next big step in their relationship. Being out in public.
"I'm right here with you. Ready?" he asked softly with a loving smile.
She smiled back and nodded. "As I'll ever be. I'm ready,"
"So...you two want to lead the way?" Jimin giggled, grabbing Jungkook from behind with a hug, causing the two to play fight.
"Get off, hyung!" Jungkook laughed.
"Ennie and Jungkookie~!" Taehyung cheered, grabbing onto Jen as she began to laugh.
"Would you leave them alone?" Yoongi chuckled as both 95 Liners released the couple.
"Yeah, we'll walk first," Jen replied. "I don't mind,"
"Yeah, I don't mind, either," Jungkook added and extended his hand out to her after putting his black mask on.
She happily took it after placing her noise-canceling headphones over her ears. She placed her phone back in her pocket after pressing shuffle, and Spotlight by Mutemath popped on.
'The irony...' she chuckled to herself, thinking about that Twilight scene of Edward and Bella.
With some security and staff walking in front of them, along with the managers, JenKook began walking while the rest of Bangtan walked behind. A smile crept up behind Namjoon's mask as he watched the young couple with their heads up high, walking together confidently.
'Here we go,' Jen thought as she firmly held her boyfriend's soft hand.
Their smiles never left their faces as they felt a huge weight lifted off their shoulders. They didn't need to hide anymore. They could love and embrace each other publicly, having a firm barrier to not let any negativity draw them apart, as they had promised each other.
As soon as the public saw the staff of Big Hit, cheers began to get louder as everyone anticipated the members, especially the newly revealed couple. Once JenKook stepped out, pandemonium hit. Thank goodness for those noise-canceling headphones, as her music drowned out the noise. But she saw the various expressions of excitement from fans and the urgency of the media, who were asking many questions regarding their relationship. The constant flashes of light from the cameras were a bit irritating as Jungkook led the way. Phones and cameras were all over, trying to get the best view of the new couple. Security did very well to avoid the entire group getting mobbed.
Jungkook's movements did not go unseen as he firmly pulled Jennie to him by releasing her hand and wrapping an arm around her waist, making her walk even closer to him. That sparked more screams as the action caused the Bangtan Girl to smile harder, which was caught on camera.
Jimin and Taehyung refrained from backflipping out of joy as they saw the way Jungkook pulled her closer. The two glanced at each other with glee and continued to walk through the chaotic fans and media with the rest of the members and staff.
Making it outside, security began opening the doors for the members to step in. As the members got in the car, JenKook remained outside. Just before Jungkook decided to get in, Jennie chose to stop him. She pulled down his mask and gave him a sweet kiss on the lips, which he happily returned, not having a care in the world.
As soon as they locked lips, a huge commotion occurred as loud screaming filled the area along with frequent flashes and clicks for photos. Angelina dropped her jaw while the members watched on in surprise and happiness. After the couple got in the car and sat next to each other, they were finally on their way back home.
"Well damn, that's how you stand on business with your man. That kiss had a purpose," Angelina praised.
"Really? Was the kiss necessary?" Jin playfully scolded.
"Yes, it was. That felt so good to do," Jen sighed in content.
"Definitely," Jungkook grinned.
"Well, the return to Seoul wasn't so bad," Taehyung giggled.
"For now. I'm glad I didn't get attacked," Jen pointed out.
"Like we'd let that happen," Yoongi said in a protective tone.
"Yeah, no way. You're always going to be safe with us," Namjoon reassured.
The ride back was peaceful and filled with fun vibes as various conversations occurred. Meanwhile, Jen and Jungkook caught up on the 97 Liner group chat, replying happily to all the memes and supportive messages.
Jennie: Safe and sound! I hope you all get home safely.
Eunha: We're so glad you two are ok!
The8: Yeah, that was a lot of people at the airport. No one tried to touch you, right?
Jungkook: She's fine. I wasn't going to let that happen.
The8: Good, I'm relieved.
Jennie: Yeah, I'm fine. No one tried to hurt me. Jungkook, the rest of the guys, and staff made sure I was well surrounded.
Jihyo: Are we going to discuss that kiss at the airport???
Mina: OMG yeah!! I've been freaking out since I saw the photos and videos!
Eunha: You two are so cuteeee
Jihyo: Aren't they?!
Mingyu: LOL get a room, you two!
Jungkook: We will ;)
Bam Bam: Hahahaha, keep it PG
Jennie: Hehehehe.
Hayoon: I won the bet! I predicted you two were going to kiss in front of the media!
Jennie: Betting again???
Jungkook: We're a hot commodity, aren't we, honey?
Jennie: Looks that way lol.
Bam Bam: Everyone owes me, Hayoon and Yugyeom dinner
Mina: I could go for some hot pot one day
Jungkook: We'll have to plan to go eat sometime next year
Yuju: I'm down!
Jihyo: Me toooo
And everyone else began to agree and try to compare their busy schedules.
-------------------
"Yes, I'm fine," Jennie chuckled while petting Tony. "Don't worry. I'm feeling good. I'll be safe and in my trusted circle,"
Jennie was back safely in her room, seated on her bed, on a group call with her parents and sisters. She called them as soon as she made it home, and they all discussed the extreme turn of events at the MAMA Awards. Her family continued to praise how open JenKook were about themselves and could not stop talking about their kisses at the show and the airport.
"And you're still doing the tour, right?" Alani asked.
"Yep," Jen answered. "I'm going to be taking a step back from all those fan events. I think it'll be a good thing. But it's not going to be a vacation. I'll be working on other stuff instead, like music. So, I will still be at work. I won't be sitting at home, doing nothing,"
"I understand that. That could be a sign to work on that solo music,"
"Oh yeah. I want to share some of what I'm working on at the Philly show for the Wings tour. It'll be so special,"
"Oh?! It's been confirmed!? Big Hit is allowing it?"
"Yeah! A video announcement will be dropped soon enough. I cried when they told me. It'll be at the Wells Fargo Center,"
"You know we'll be there," her dad happily said.
"Yeah, the Philly show is gonna be lit! I just can't get over that stage presence. Like I wanted you to beat her ass on stage, but what you did was even better," Vienna praised.
"Oh, so we're all in agreement that she should have gotten smacked? Cause I did not like the way that she came at you," their mom brought up.
"No need to get violent. It's over and done with. She got the message. But I do admit sometimes violence can be the answer," Alani added.
"Wow, coming from you? Okay," Jen said.
"How is Jungkook?" her father asked.
"He's doing very well. We're gonna be getting ready for bed soon."
Jen turned and refrained from laughing once she saw Jungkook wearing one of her bonnets when he walked in. He grinned and motioned for her to put the phone on speaker.
"Oh, he wants to say hi. Hold on a second," she stood up, placed the call on speaker, and handed the phone to him.
"Hello! How are you?" Jungkook greeted in English.
Meanwhile, her family chose to say hello in Korean. Hearing both languages caused them all to chuckle.
"We've been trying to learn some Korean to make you feel more comfortable in conversation. Your English is outstanding. Jennie, you're doing an amazing job teaching him," her father praised as she appreciated his words.
"Your Korean is good! I appreciate you wanting to learn it," Jungkook added.
It made his heart leap with joy to hear her family speak Korean to him. His parents were learning more English to be able to talk to Jennie and one day meet her family. Perhaps they'll officially meet during their graduation.
After getting off the phone, Jennie pointed out the bonnet on his head.
"My bonnet? Really?" she laughed with him and snatched it off.
"I had to. Your reaction was priceless," he giggled as she rolled her eyes playfully and prepared her outfit for school.
"I feel you looking at me. Are you plotting something else?" she teased and stopped what she was doing to give him her full attention after a little while.
There was a look of love and earnestness in his eyes as the silence was comfortable with them being alone, while Tony was relaxing.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She felt her face flush and watched as he walked over to her.
Suddenly, he pulled her in for a smooch, catching her by surprise. His hands gently cupped her face as he kissed her repeatedly, making her almost lose her balance. Pulling away, leaving her breathless, he continued to hold her face and pressed his forehead against hers as they opened their eyes.
"I love you," he whispered.
She smiled. "And I love you,"
"I'm never going to let you go. I promise you,"
"I'll never let you go. I promise you. We're standing next to each other, remember?"
"I remember. Good night, Jennie," he smiled and pulled away from her.
"Good night,"
Jennie couldn't stop smiling as she watched him leave. After all this time dating, he still makes her feel so giddy.
------------
Reactions from idols did not go unnoticed by fans. BlackPink talked amongst themselves about JenKook, admiring their bravery, and were pleasantly surprised that they took the risk to reveal their relationship to the public.
"I think it's a beautiful thing that they did this. It shows how much they love and trust ARMY," Jisoo mentioned.
"Yeah, I hope to have that mindset, one day. To not have a care in the world and just love who I love publicly. Jen is in her idgaf era, huh?" BlackPink's Jennie added with a smile, admiring her.
“I cannot believe they’re doing this and staying strong. Have you seen the horrible comments on Jen’s page? I hope she’s okay. People are so awful,” Lisa said with a frown.
“She did say she deleted her social media to avoid it. Being away from social media seems to be doing more good for her. She still looks happy, and when I messaged her, she was still in good spirits," Rosé brought up.
“Well, that's good. Their announcement gave me whiplash. I was stunned.”
“I believe they thought about this for a long time. It’s nice that their company supports them,"
On a V-Live with BlackPink, they briefly commented about it with Rosé saying, “The industry is still buzzing about it. Jen always looks so happy lately, doesn’t she? Jungkook brings out a whole different side of her.”
“Yeah, and the way she looks at Jungkook is adorable. There is no denying it.” Jisoo smiled.
Even IOI was shooked and happy to see how Jennie went from helping them train during their show, to being a part of one of the biggest K-Pop announcements in the industry.
"There is never a dull moment with Jennie Unnie, is there?" Yeonjung giggled.
"I know. Now I want a boyfriend. They're so cute," Sohye sighed.
As the news about JenKook was still fresh, it appeared that fans were starting to see more idols being vocal about being fixated on Jennie, and some were calling her their ideal type. Whenever it was because of her looks or her personality, ARMY was happy to see people more vocal about how much they adored Jennie despite the relationship reveal. What caused a surprise was when Zelo from BAP tweeted, 'Pain...' when he retweeted a post about Jennie not being single. It was news to a lot of people besides BAP's fandom that he became infatuated with Miss Bangtan and always liked her posts.
Even Monsta X's IM brought up on a live that Jennie was an amazing person and someone he'd want to date if she were interested in him. And that he is happy that they are friends, and she is fun to talk to. Also, Seventeen's Seungkwan mentioned how fun her personality is and loved how well she plays volleyball, hoping to play a match with her one day.
On a V-Live, Mingyu happily spoke about his friends. "Jennie and Jungkook?" he grinned. "I’m pleased that my friends finally shared their love with the world. They will overcome anything,”
And the new group NCT had Johnny casually saying how much he loves Jennie's smile, and Mark calling Jennie his favorite BTS member.
With Bam Bam on a live, when asked about JenKook, he proudly spoke about his friends by saying, "I gave Jungkook a warning that I'd fight him if he breaks her heart. I told him he'd better treat her right. Jennie deserves all the love she gets."
Jackson laughed at him in the background and brought up that what Bam Bam said was true, and even Yugyeom confirmed it.

After Jin's birthday, which was celebrated with Jennie and Jin baking his birthday cake together, since she did not have time to do it before, Yoongi strolled around the dorm, taking a break from working on music. He decided to walk to Jennie's room to check on her. It was good that she was still doing fine despite all the chaos of the relationship reveal and MAMA Awards drama. But he still wanted to see if she was all right as the days went by.
Gently opening the door, he noticed that no one was in there and began to look confused.
"Smartie?" he asked, looking around.
Curious about her whereabouts, he pulled up his phone to track her shared location.
With Jennie, she sat on the ground, looking up at the sky, enjoying the solitude of Han River. Dressed in all black with a hoodie over her head, she was bundled up, and she was incognito as she enjoyed her alone time. It was nice to get a moment to herself to breathe and be away from the flashing cameras and constant screaming over her relationship. The pros and cons of being famous. She couldn't wait for people to freak out over a new topic. Going to school after revealing her relationship was a pain in the ass. Every day, the sneaking of photos and videos, people trying to know every detail of the relationship, and even some teachers were lowkey acting a little weird.
Overall, she felt good. Her head was still in a good space as she surrounded herself with good people and did not let toxic social media ruin her mental health. Taking a break from social media was the best choice. And as hard a choice as it was…taking a break from fan meetings was also the best decision.
As she sat, she continued writing lyrics in her notebook, taking time to work on some ideas that came to mind.
"Jennifer," a deep voice called out.
Turning her head, she smiled as she watched Yoongi approach her and take a seat beside her.
"Hey, Yoongi. Sorry, didn't feel like sleeping just yet. My mind is a little all over the place, and I started writing lyrics again. I couldn't get it out of my head. You know how that is,"
"I understand. I figured you'd be here when I checked your location. You doing ok?"
She chuckled, dryly. "Living the dream. But honestly, I am just tired of the constant media attention on Jungkook and me. And once we start those press conferences for our next album, I just know I'm gonna be bombarded by the reporters. Ugh, it's exhausting. It's even worse at school. The teachers are even bad, like damn, can we learn?"
Yoongi let her continue to vent as he listened, giving her his undivided attention. He pulled a few packs of Smarties from his pocket for her to munch on as she thanked him and proceeded to vent.
"Would it be such a big deal if I weren't black? They act like interracial relationships are something scary. It shouldn't be a big deal. It's been a bit rough seeing the death threats that my family and friends have dealt with. Come at me, but don't go after my family and friends. I even saw some bringing up that if I have kids, they want to harm them. Like? The fuck? Really? Is it really that deep? I'm not even thinking about the idea of having kids right now, but damn. Shit is rough. Really rough. But I'm going to be ok. And I know you guys will be there to protect me, too. Me and Jungkook. And I know that no matter what, I'm loved and appreciated. I will continue to do my best to drown out the noise. Honestly, this is all just making me want to keep my distance. Take a step back. I know I'm the one who gives the big fan service, but the true supporters will understand that I need this. I need a break. I just want to be with my friends and family and work in silence as I stay in BTS. I'll still do the tour, I'll still do my thing, but it'll be a little while until I can bounce back and see the fans for fan events,"
She let out a sigh. "It's just really us against the world, huh? My circle of idol friends is going to become smaller and smaller. I don't fuck with Amber anymore."
"Oh, really?" Yoongi asked, a little surprised since they used to hang out so frequently.
"Yeah, she completely took Hyuna's side. So, what, I'm the bad guy cause I defended myself and checked her? And you know Hyuna is a done deal. There is no coming back from that bullshit she pulled. No one is reaching out to see if I'm ok except for Hayoon and the 97 Liners in the group chat and a few others. But damn, it's like some people that I thought would have my back, really don't give a fuck. It's crazy. But you know what? I'm disappointed but not surprised. Because I was warned that not everybody is your friend. And as we continue to be in this industry and get bigger and bigger, we really need to make sure that we're cautious about who we let into our circle. I'm so fucking serious, Yoongi,"
Yoongi nodded and pulled her into his arms as she leaned her head against his shoulder.
"All this fake love, it's bullshit," she added. "And I refuse to let any of you guys get taken advantage of by clout chasers and fakeassness. Over my dead body. It is on fucking sight once we break into the American music industry. Because that industry is not all rainbows and sunshine,"
"I don't blame you, smartie. It's going to be ok. And remember, you two aren't going to go through this alone. Especially you,"
"For sure. Thank you,"

Finally catching up with Diana, Jennie happily chilled with her at the Smartie Factory, eating lunch together. After catching up on gossip and life, Diana went down to business.
"So, I have some news. I discussed this with Big Hit already, and they are all for it. But it is all up to you," Diana said with an excited smile.
"Oh? What is it?" Jen asked as she decided to lie back in her chair.
"So, your performance at the MAMA Awards has gone viral."
"Yeah, I'm aware. What about it?"
"You know Marvel is working on movies, right?"
"Diana, now is not the time to joke around." Jennie's stomach dropped as she chuckled nervously.
Marvel has always been such a passionate subject. But why did she bring up Marvel? What about Marvel?
"I'm not. Black Panther's Director, Ryan Coogler and casting director Sarah Finn, have shown keen interest in you because of your performance. Specifically, your walk and how you seem to resemble a character that they are currently trying to cast for Black Panther. And they are interested in seeing if you want to audition for the role,"
Jennie immediately sat up as she tried to process what she had just said. "You're joking," she shook her head in disbelief.
"I'm being serious,"
"No, you're not. You're lying!"
"Girl, the emails are right here," Diana laughed and grabbed her folder and showed her the receipts, causing Miss Bangtan to freak out.
"What!? Me!? Audition!? What!?"
She giggled. "Yes, Jen. And I think you should try it out and see how it goes,"
After calming herself down, Jennie got a good look at the audition information.
"You know the character Arjana?" her manager asked.
It rang a bell. Jennie wasn't the biggest comic book reader, but in Black Panther, Arjana was a former Dora Milaje member and half American and half Wakandan who had a chip on her shoulder.
"Ryan specifically brought up your walk. He said it was a nice visual of how he wanted Arjana to walk in the movie. Because that character is known for her signature walk in the comics,"
"This is so sudden, though, like damn, he wants me to try to audition for a role like this?"
"Hey, some actors got scouted just by looking pretty and then got acting lessons. Don't sell yourself short. Besides, you've been taking classes. I think it's a great opportunity. It's not uncommon for singers to be in movies. You never know unless you try. So, what's it gonna be?"
After a moment, Jennie decided to take that leap.
"Okay. Let's do it."
"All right, I'll let them know and let Big Hit know. I'll get details on the audition script, when and where the audition is, and all that stuff. But for now, what you need to do is start researching the character so you can at least get an idea of what you gotta act like,"
"Sounds like a plan,"
Later that day, all that was on Jennie's mind was that audition. She spent all day reading up on the character in her room. Hearing a slight knock on her door, she told the person to come in. Jungkook walked in with a bowl of Smarties.
"Oh, thank you, babe. I've been craving these," she beamed and gestured for him to sit on the bed.
"You're welcome. You seem a bit worked up. Everything, all right?" he asked as he pet Tony, who was lying on her bed.
"A little on edge,"
"What's on your mind?" he asked as she placed her iPad to the side and sighed.
"So, Diana told me some awesome news, but I'm just really nervous. She told me that the director and casting director of Black Panther want me to audition for one of the roles of a side character."
Jungkook's eyes lit up as he immediately yelled "What!?" and pulled her in for an excited hug, making her laugh and embrace him back.
"Honey, that's a huge deal! You're going to do it, right?! You better do it! You'd be crazy not to!" he exclaimed.
She giggled and nodded. "I am, I am. I'm just a little nervous, that's all,"
"Don't be. They see something in you and see the potential. I think you're gonna be just fine. Maybe you should ask Taehyung to help you with lines,"
"I just might actually. So far, only you know. I'm gonna text Hayoon about it shortly."
"I'll leave you to it. But make sure you take breaks, all right? If you need anything, tell me. I'll be gaming,"
"I got you," she said as she got her forehead kissed by him and watched him leave.
She grabbed her phone and went on to text Hayoon.
Jennie: Hayoonnnnn. Gurl...you'll never believe what happened!!
After a few moments, she got a reply.
Hayoon: Jennieeeeee! What happened?
Miss Bangtan went on to text her all the details of her getting an offer to audition for Black Panther.
Hayoon: OMG OMG OMG ARE U SERIOUS?!
Jennie: YES! IM STILL SHOOKED
Hayoon: I'm SO happy for you ahhhhhh! Congratulations! How is everything going???
Jennie: I got the little script to audition, but I'm still trying to do some research to get a better understanding of the character
Hayoon: Oh, I actually know someone who can help u!
Jennie: Really? I would appreciate it. I need all the help I can get
Hayoon: Yeah! Remember I was telling you about the person who has been making me happy, lately??
Jennie pondered for a moment. A while ago, Hayoon had told her that she had been seeing someone privately.
Jennie: Yeah!
Hayoon: She's the comic enthusiast I've been talking to. Nonfamous and works at her family's comic book shop. She's my partner now!
Jennie: Omggg that's so sweet. I'm so happy for you!!
Hayoon: Thank you. I trust you, and I talk about you a lot to her. She'll be more than happy to help you learn more about the character. If anyone knows superheroes, it's her. She'll be your guiding light. I'll send you the address and let her know you'll be making a stop.
And after that, a few days later, Jennie found herself in front of the shop. She was told to come in after closing hours so she could have privacy, which she appreciated. While Jen was doing this, the rest of Bangtan went to Japan for their fan meeting. The boys informed her that a lot of ARMY at the fan meetings asked about her, which made her happy.
"Hi!" a Korean woman around her age beamed and let her inside. "Auditioning for Arjana from Black Panther, correct?"
She looked stunning with her blond hair in a big ponytail and blue glasses over her face. She had jeans and a big Spider Man shirt on, as she welcomed Jennie.
"Yeah, I am! Thank you for this. I'm nervous, but Hayoon recommended that you're the best person to ask for help on the character."
"My girlfriend knows best," she grinned. "It's nice to meet you, Jennie. I'm Hana. She told me a lot about you. Thank you for being by her side all the time. She's lucky to have a good friend like you."
"Nah, I'm the lucky one. She's been the best. It's nice to meet the person who has been making her so happy. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me."
"Thank you. So, talk to me. When is the audition, and what are they doing?"
"Ok, my audition is in a few days. All I can really say is that the role is small for now, and they plan to film a scene here in South Korea and want Arjana's introduction to be there."
"Hm...the big factor is Arjana's walk and her signature catchphrases. Hayoon told me a big reason why they wanted you to try out the role is that your signature walk is something they see in Arjana. The fact that your Mama Award performance is still talked about to this day is amazing. I understand why the casting directors are interested in seeing what you can do. But just a walk isn't going to get you the role. From the videos I've seen of you, you have her mannerisms down, but you need to fully embrace the character."
"Thank you, and that's why I'm here. I was going to buy some Black Panther comics to prepare. I wanted to read up on her and get a feel of how she carries herself," she said as she began to grab a few comics.
"Wait, don't pick that comic up."
"Why not?"
Hana proceeded to grab a few specific comics of Black Panther. "If you want to nail that audition and make the role your own, these are the only comics you need to read. Read these and you're good to go."
"That's it? Just these?"
"Yep. The rest will be elementary. I like the enemies-to-lovers trope. I'm interested to see how Bucky Barnes and Arjana will look on the big screen. Keep me updated on your progress."

One evening, Jennie was dancing to her music playing in the background while braiding her hair into two pigtails in her bathroom and placing a pink bonnet on her head. She then heard her phone buzz.
Vienna: Are you wearing the moomoo?
The moomoo dress.
Jennie checked out her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a pink one. The loose, ankle length dress was comfy on her. Since she and Jungkook have gotten super comfortable with each other, Jen wanted to begin wearing moomoos after Vienna suggested it. Her sister seemed even more excited than she was about wearing one, but she thought it looked cute.
Jen: Yeah! Thanks for this! It's cute and comfy. I chose the pink one for tonight. Perfect loungewear.
Vienna: Oh, good! Have fun getting devoured! ;)
Jen: Huh??
Confused, Jennie chuckled and shook her head.
"Goofy..." she murmured.
Fresh out of the shower, she wore the moomoo with nothing underneath. It was another rare night where JenKook were alone. The guys were either out eating or still in the studio. And whenever an occasion occurred, JenKook liked to take advantage by staying behind. They spent tonight watching a movie, and then she chose to shower while he decided to game online with his friends.
"He's in the building on the right," Jungkook announced as he sat in front of the TV in the living room, playing another one of his favorite shooting games with his friends.
His headset was on as he sat on the couch, shirtless, wearing black sweatpants. He glanced over to see Jennie walking out of her room and did a double take, getting a full view of her not wearing anything underneath her outfit. It distracted him, the way her chest bounced and her ass jiggled, and as a result, his character got shot down, making his team lose the match.
"Damn GGs!" he heard one of his teammates on the mic.
Unknown to Jennie, who went to finish straightening up in the kitchen, Jungkook remained captivated as he observed her, tilting his head to the side to get a better view of her backside.
What was she wearing? And why did it look so good on her?
"Yo, Jungkook, you still here?" another teammate asked.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm still here," he answered, forcing himself to look back at the screen and ready up for another match.
Feeling her soft hand run through his hair, he smiled and muted himself, looking up at her.
"What are you wearing?" he asked as he tried to keep himself composed with his eyes lingering down to her lips.
"Okay, don't laugh. I know I look like a grandma," she chuckled. "It's a moomoo. Vienna ordered me some. I always wanted to wear one, and I was like why not now? It's nice and comfy, right?"
"You look good. Really good,"
"Really? Thank you," she grinned, pleased that he didn't make fun of her for it. "How's the game?"
'Screw the game. I want you,' he answered in his head.
"It's going fine," he said out loud.
"Cool. Well, tell the boys I said hi. I'll be in my room,"
He watched her walk away as his eyes roamed down to her ass once again.
"Fuck..." he whispered, biting his bottom lip lightly and shaking his head, feeling his arousal rising.
Of all the times for this to happen? He should have pinned her down on the couch when they were watching the movie. There was no way he was going to be able to focus on the game with her looking like that. Her clothing is so simple, but getting a nice view of everything and literally easy access to just...
"Focus," he said to himself as the game started and he unmuted his mic. "Jennie says hi,"
The boys happily acknowledged that, as Jungkook remained distracted, wondering if he could control himself or act on his arousal. Their time being alone in the dorm was coming to an end. Someone was bound to get back soon.
As some time went past and a few more rounds occurred, Jungkook saw Jennie walking back to the kitchen, listening to music on shuffle as she danced around, unaware he was watching.
Booty going up, down
I ain't got no problem spending all of my money
She must be trying to kill him.
She has done this in the past, dancing around. He was used to it and would join her or watch in amusement, but the outfit she wore was making it extremely hard to continue gaming with how everything was moving so nicely.
As soon as she went back into her room with her music to continue dancing around, he had had enough.
"I have to go," Jungkook abruptly exited the new game, causing a chorus of complaints and confusion from the guys, having one man down.
He immediately turned off the console and TV, placed his headset and controller down, and got up from his seat, walking right after her. He let his free will take over. She was his. And his only.
Shutting her door quietly and hearing the click confirming he officially locked it, he watched her as her back was facing him.
Determined, he closed the distance between them, swiftly, grabbing her wrist, turning her around as a startled gasp escaped her.
"K-"
Before she could even speak, he was all over her, claiming her lips desperately as she stumbled back. He pulled her against him, feeling her soft breasts press against his chest, smooching her repeatedly while she gently tried to push him back.
"Hey, wait-"
He pulled her back in again, and she squealed against his mouth, jumping slightly as she felt his hands roam down and squeeze her ass.
Jennie was surprised at his actions as she kissed him back, unable to resist. Jungkook seemed to have been just fine, gaming with his friends. Now, all of a sudden, he's kissing her and having his hands all over her?
"You know we got school bright in the morning, right? And someone is bound to be home soon. We can't do this, now," she laughed nervously, weakly attempting to push him away.
As soon as he gave her that look. That prolonged gaze filled with desire, she knew she was done for. She soon found herself turned around and pushed up against her desk as he began grinding against her. Feeling him poking against her, she began to squirm as he held her with an arm around her waist while his other hand cupped her breast.
"You really want me to stop? Wearing this...wearing nothing underneath...You're doing this on purpose," he claimed, squeezing her breast as her breath hitched.
All of this because of this dress? He was acting like he was starved with the way he moved against her and touched her.
"Look at me," he commanded gently, placing a hand on her chin to make her look at him.
He pressed his lips against hers tenderly and began grinding against her again, making her whimper against his mouth.
"You don't get to walk away from me after all you've done. Not looking like that," he murmured against her dark skin as he kissed around her neck, smelling the vanilla lotion she applied earlier.
She felt his warm breath against her ear as he told her, "I want to try something new with you,"
---------
Vienna lounged on her bed, laughing to herself, assuming her plan was going well.
"What are you laughing about?" Alani asked as she sat on her own bed with her phone.
"Oh, nothing~! Just doing a little experiment for Jen,"
"Oh Lord…what have you done?" Alani cringed.
"I told her to wear the moomoo,"
Instantly, Alani froze and looked at her incredulously. "Vienna, you didn't…"
"Listen, I'm sure she's having a grand ol' time, right about now. Our little sister deserves a little alone time with her man."
------
She sure was, as tears of ecstasy ran down her face while Jungkook thrusted into her relentlessly, making her feel things she had never felt before in this new position. The dress was hiked up, and her poor bonnet was lying on the floor somewhere as their bodies glistened with sweat. All she could hear was the sounds of skin slapping, his panting, and soft grunts, along with her cries as she was completely at his mercy while overstimulated from her first climax.
Still against the desk with him pressed up against her, he continued to caress her, appreciating every curve, occasionally uttering about how pretty she looked like this.
"I know..." he murmured against her ear as she cussed and sobbed out his name.
On a strict time limit, this was going to be a quick one, with her already close to the edge again as she arched her back. The worries of her being too loud and possibly someone coming home soon went away as she was overwhelmed with the pleasure he gave her.
She whined when he pulled out abruptly. He then made her lie on her back in her bed as her chest heaved up and down, catching her breath. Jungkook stripped himself bare, removing his sweatpants and boxers. The sight caused her face to flush as he locked eyes with her. As soon as she tried to move back, she saw him shake his head.
"I'm not done yet," he said as he grabbed one of her ankles and yanked her toward the edge of the bed, making her squeal. Grabbing the end of the pink dress, he pulled it over her head, tossing it on the floor.
He was rougher than usual with her. They've been intimate quite a few times now, but this right here was way different than their previous private moments together. And it was something they both were enjoying as they explored each other.
After crawling on top of her, he lined himself up against her entrance and slowly slid in again as his kiss drowned out her needy moans. Wanting to switch positions, Jungkook grabbed her thick legs and pushed her thighs against her chest. Using his strong arms as support while he leaned in close to her face, she began crying out to him as he proceeded to move. His pace gradually got faster as he studied every single reaction, cry, and whimper to remember exactly what made her tick.
It wasn't long until they both hit their sweet release as a satisfied smirk came across his lips. If he could, he would have taken his time with her and kissed every inch of her body. But for times like these, doing something quickly wasn't too bad.
After removing the condom, he helped them both get under the covers, and he pulled her close, both catching their breaths.
"See? We're still home, alone. It worked out," he said, feeling victorious in achieving his goal before someone arrived.
"Mm...one of these days we're gonna get caught," she guaranteed as he kissed the side of her head.
"I know, but not today," he grinned as she let out a breathless laugh. "Sorry if I went a little overboard. Was that okay? Are you okay?"
"No, that was amazing. I'm fine. I should wear a moo moo around you more often,"
"Mm-mm," he shook his head. "Don't wear those here. Wear them only if we're alone. Like if we go on a trip together and stay at a hotel. I don't want anyone else to see you in it. Especially if you don't have anything underneath. I want it to be for my eyes only."
"The dress is the issue? Really?"
"After what I just did to you, yeah," he admitted sheepishly, making her laugh.
She liked the way he was rougher with her and how he had her from behind. Maybe one day she'll push his buttons a little bit to have this happen again.
After putting back on his clothes and helping her get cleaned up, he gave her a cold glass of water from the kitchen.
"Thank you," she sat up, placing the blanket over her chest and downed some water, savoring the coolness. "We need to air out my room. It reeks of sex, we gotta get rid of all evidence,"
"One step ahead of you," he said as he opened up her windows and grabbed some of her air freshener to spray around.
"I'll wash the sheets," she offered.
"Nah, stay in bed. I got this," he reassured and leaned over the bed to kiss her forehead.
"Thank you, babe," she beamed and watched as he cleaned up.
After a while, she called out his name, making him turn. "Thank you for always making me feel so good about myself. I always feel so special being with you," she told him.
"I should be the one thanking you for having me be so lucky to make you feel the way that you feel. You're amazing. And the fact that I get to be the one to have you like this is something I'll never take for granted. I can't wait to do it again."
---------
"You look happy," Vienna laughed as Jennie answered her FaceTime call with a bright smile the next day after she came home from school. "Sooooo how'd it go?"
Seated at her desk in her room, Jennie immediately felt flushed as she got flashbacks of her intimate night with Jungkook. It felt like she got the sonic coins knocked out of her, and she was in a pretty happy mood. She was just sore and began to like the idea of having quickies from time to time.
"You plotted this, didn't you?" Jen put it all together.
"I did it to Alani and had to do it for you, too," her sister laughed.
"I was not expecting to get my back blown out like that. I'm sore. Fuck...I did not think my body could bend like that. What have you done!?"
"You're welcome!"
"No, for real, it's like something in him snapped. Like, I thought we were finished, and he pulled me back and told me he wasn't done. And then I'm getting flipped and bent all sorts of ways. Positions I haven't even thought of trying just yet. A moomoo drives men that crazy?"
"Hehe, it's not always about lingerie,"
"You always like to play cupid but never want to be in another relationship,"
"You know why," Vienna frowned. "No more dating for me. I also decided to be abstinent until further notice. At least my sisters are happy with their lovers,"
"And that's fine. But I think one day someone will change that perspective of you not wanting to date anymore and treat you like you deserve. I hope one day you will open up your heart again. You deserve to be happy with someone, too."
"I guess," Vienna shrugged.
Suddenly, Taehyung knocked on Jen's door, which was open, and walked in.
"Hi, Ennie! What are you doing?"
"Hey, Tae! I'm on the phone with my sister, Vienna."
His eyes lit up, and he cheerfully went over to the phone, instantly. "Hi, Vienna!" he spoke in English.
Vienna's eyes brightened as she smiled and waved. "Hi, Taehyung! Long time, no see! Oh! I watched that anime you recommended! My Hero Academia,"
"What did you think?"
"It's great! I'm still on season 1, but I like it! I wonder what my quirk might be,"
"Your quirk is Vienna. Vibrant and kind. Your quirk makes people smile, just like you make me," he confidently said.
The sudden response caused her face to warm up as she let out a chuckle, feeling touched by the kind words. "You're too sweet, thank you, Tae,"
Jennie glanced at her phone. Vienna was cheesing after what he told her. She then glanced over at Taehyung to see him smiling even brighter than usual. And the fact that he said this all in English? It felt like he had been practicing a lot to be able to say that to her, so she could understand him.
"Oh, I gotta go. My yoga class is coming up. Have a great day, you two!" Vienna waved.
After saying their goodbyes, Jennie ended the call.
"Smiling kinda hard, are you?" she teased him.
"I am?" he asked, bright smile never leaving his face. "I'm just looking forward to talking to her again about the anime,"
"The anime. Riiiight," Jen giggled, interested to see where this was going to go and chose not to get involved.
As time went on, the members would occasionally do V-Lives, and throughout every single one, the absence of Jennie was evident as comments brought her up. The members never asked her to join a live, respecting her decision to take a step back. Each live, the members announced it and happily informed ARMY that she was happy and doing well.
"How is Jennie?" Jimin read a comment as he took out a lollipop from his mouth and grinned. "Ennie is doing great! She's taking a long social media break, so she won't be doing any lives anytime soon. But when she is ready to come back, she'll surprise you, ARMY. When you see her in public for our group activities, give her lots of love and support, yeah?"
'Jennie looks sad,' some comments like this would float around social media, but they would immediately be debunked when they see mutual friends of hers posting her, with permission, to show that she was doing just fine.
'I saw Jennie in public buying ingredients to bake. Looks like someone is getting a cake. Maybe the boys?' a fan tweeted and took some photos of her from afar as she looked at peace and unbothered.
Then it was business as usual with Big Hit dropping the video of just Jennie, which excited ARMY. There was a faded location on the WINGS USA tour announcement photo, and today was the day that it was revealed.
In the video, Jennie cleared her throat and knocked on the camera a few times. Her hair was in a cute bun and she wore an Eagles jersey.
"This thing on?" She beamed and took a step back to wave. "ARMY! It's your girl, Miss Bangtan, and I have so exciting news! BTS is FINALLY coming to Philly for one night only at the Wells Fargo Center! I am incredibly honored to perform in my hometown with my boys! We got some special things planned. An hour before the official show, there is an intimate showing of me showcasing some things I've been working on, and I have some special guests I'm bringing along too!"
As she excitedly closed the video to thank fans for the support and Big Hit for making this happen, she told attendees for the Philly show to bring it and show how they get down in Philadelphia.
And then Big Hit posted the video reaction of BTS in a meeting, and how the staff announced that the hidden date is indeed in her hometown. The scream of delight from Jennie and the immediate jumping up and down with excitement before shedding tears of joy and getting embraced by all of Bangtan went viral.
Fans tweeted:
'Jennie crumbs! We're getting Jennie content!'
'You can tell she was holding back tears filming the announcement video. She's so happy!'
'It's really special cause of how long she's been asking to perform in Philly. Now she gets her wish,'
'How can you hate on someone this precious? Someone this genuine in wanting to perform for us in her hometown?'
'This is so wholesome #BTSWingsPhilly'
And the big thing was? All tickets sold out for Philly once they went on sale, which made her cry once again. Despite everything, true fans sold out the show she anticipated the most for the WINGS tour, and she couldn't wait to show them what she was made of.
-------
Today was the day Taehyung was going to assist Jennie in her audition for a role in Black Panther. When she told him the big news, he jumped for joy, thrilled that she was going to take that step into acting. He had high hopes that she would nail the role despite her expressing apprehension.
"You need the script?" he asked.
"Nope. Got it memorized," she reassured and let out a sigh.
This character...she had a chip on her shoulder. She was upset she didn't get the leader position for the Dora Milaje and ended up leaving Wakanda, wanting to venture out on her own. And she chose to stay back in America. And for the Black Panther, T'challa reached out to her to assist him, Okoye, and Nakia in South Korea.
"Arjana, don't start," Taehyung sighed, acting as Shuri.
Jennie let out a scoff and shook her head, clearly upset. "No, I am gonna start! Are you kidding me? You want me to babysit some white boy?"
"The white wolf needs to be watched,"
"So you want me to help the person who killed T'Chaka? You know the discrimination I faced because I'm a halfbreed, and yet T'Chaka, bless his soul, welcomed me with open arms? And now he's gone,"
"I miss my father. And I know how much my father has meant to you. But you owe me, and you agreed to be my support in Wakanda now that you are back. We need to learn to forgive. The white wolf was brainwashed."
"I..." she let out a frustrated sigh and crossed her arms. "For you...fine. How long am I suffering for?"
"I'm working on undoing his brainwashing. I need you to watch him from time to time. Help him in this peaceful environment. Be kind to him,"
Jennie rolled her eyes. "Fiiiine,"
After going over that scene a few times, they went on to work on a small scene for the South Korea set.
As much as Jennie hated to do this, she had to channel her old leader, Hailey, because some of the lines reminded me of her cockiness and how she acted above everyone. For some reason, it helped with the acting.
Getting started, Jennie looked up at Taehyung with a smirk. "Well, well, well. Looks like little miss leader needs my help,"
Taehyung, playing at Okoye, who had a rivalry with Arjana, spoke in annoyance. "Respect clearly has not been present in a long time. We can handle this without you."
"Yet you called me," she responded, acting like a smart ass.
"Our prince called you. I refused."
"Huh. Looks like a you problem, cause I'm here, now," she grinned, raising her eyebrows to taunt her.
Taehyung took a step forward and stopped as the script said that T'Challa had stopped Okoye, while Jennie raised her hands in defense.
"Hit a nerve?" Jen asked, amused.
Taehyung spoke T'Challa's lines, "Ladies. We are here for a purpose. Not to fight. We must work together."
She smirked. "Yes, my prince,"
After practicing that scene a few times, Jennie did some walk cycles in character, remembering her MAMA Awards performance.
"I think you're good to go, Ennie. You nailed it," Taehyung praised after a few hours of practicing.
Miss Bangtan let out a sigh of relief, feeling more confident after working with him. "Thanks, Tae! I feel more than ready, now."
Making a quick stop in America, Jen went on to the audition. And of course, it leaked to many news sites that she was asked to audition for the movie, which sparked debate. Although the media had no idea what role she auditioned for, people brought up how the director and casting director noticed her from her viral performance. Of course, reactions were mixed. Some thought she didn't deserve the chance since she was not an actor, some were proud of the accomplishment, and some were supportive that BTS is venturing out to do more things besides singing and dancing.
At the audition, there were so many hopeful actors. People with way more experience than her, as she tried her best to remember her lines. It was Marvel. The competition was extremely competitive. Once it was her turn, she was filmed as she said her name and began the two scenes, and then was filmed walking in character. Surprisingly, she was asked for a callback, which was a really good sign.
After a while, she was back for a chemistry test. Her eyes sparkled when she walked into the room and saw Chadwick Boseman in a bright mood, patiently waiting for the next actress to arrive to do a chemistry screening. Once he turned to see who walked in, he smiled.
"Hello, I'm Chadwick. I'm playing T'Challa in Black Panther," he said in a friendly tone, extending his hand for her to shake it.
"Hi! It's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Jennie. I'm auditioning for Arjana," she shook his hand, grinning happily.
"I'm looking forward to working with you. How are you feeling?"
"A little nervous, but I'm ready,"
He was so sweet and made her feel at ease as they did some small talk and enthused about the movie. She thought casting picked the perfect person to play Black Panther. His aura brought joy, and he handled everything with grace. She couldn't wait to see what he does on the big screen of this movie.
She told him, "Thank you for having me. You know, whether I get the role or not, I'm excited for this movie. I'm excited to see the representation of strong black women. They're strong because of their strength, and they will look beautiful while kicking ass on the big screen."
The screen test went very well, speaking the lines with ease, like she was actually in the movie. Her main focus was Chadwick, and she blocked out everyone else. After that, she was told to go into another room.
'Holy fuck...' Jennie almost stumbled once she saw Sebastian Stan chatting it up with a staff member, waiting for the next person for his chemistry test.
What the fuck? HE was here too!?
'Keep it professional and fangirl later,' she thought as she pulled herself together.
She kept her head up high and walked confidently into the room with a bright smile, speaking to everyone and turning to Sebastian, who happily greeted her and was excited to work with her. If she gets this role, this is who she'd be working with frequently for some Marvel projects. Her character was a future love interest for his character, Bucky. And it was going to take a few movies and possibly other projects before Marvel thinks about letting anything like kissing happen. Also, she'll be older by then. If she did get the role, she anticipated a debate among fans of Marvel and K-pop regarding the age difference between her and Sebastian. Maybe it would be her age that'll prevent her from getting the role. Maybe they wanted someone older to play this role instead of her.
The negative thoughts began to cloud her mind and distract her, before Sebastian kindly told her to take a deep breath and to have fun while saying the lines. The one specific line the casting director wanted to hear was "I don't like you," and it was a line she worked extremely hard with Taehyung to nail.
"Action!"
Jennie looked up and glared at him, speaking in annoyance, like she didn't want anything to do with him. "Let's get straight to the point. One. I'm only doing this because of Shuri. Two. I don't like you. And three. To make this as painless as possible, don't get in my way or piss me off. Clear?"
"Crystal, doll," he replied with a nod.
Doll?? That wasn't in the script.
She ended up glaring at him again, and outside the script, she found herself calling him out in character. "What did you say to me?"
Sebastian broke out into an amused smile and corrected himself. "Crystal,"
"That's what I thought. Let's go," she bumped into his shoulder as she walked past him.
After that, the scene ended, and she was good to go as Sebastian praised her efforts and liked what she had done.
Now was the waiting game to see if all her efforts were enough to nail the role.
---------
Jen made it back to South Korea and chose to go straight to Taehyung's Hwarang press conference to support him with flowers in her hands. She just wanted to make a quick entrance, covered in black sunglasses and a hoodie. With the help of one of Bangtan's staff members, she quickly headed towards the stage.
As soon as the media began to notice her arrival, flashes and a chorus of surprise and excitement came through the room as Taehyung's eyes lit up, noticing her immediately.
"Ennie!" he grinned and waved.
Quickly, she smiled and bowed to everyone before handing him flowers.
"Hey! Congrats! I'm so proud of you! I'll see you at home, bye!" she giggled and ran out as the staff escorted her, making some of the media and cast laugh at the abruptness.
Her entrance was bound to be put in the articles being worked on at the conference, with some netizens claiming that she shouldn't have interrupted Taehyung's moment and others thinking the gesture was cute. But overall, Taehyung was delighted that she came. He knew she was returning to Korea the day of his conference, and the fact that she made an effort to support him straight after arriving back was precious. When he made it back to the dorm, he made sure to let her know how much he appreciated it.
As time went past, Jen was back at the Smartie Factory, on a FaceTime call with Diana.
"Any news?" Jennie bit her lip slightly out of nervousness.
Diana shook her head. "They're still working on evaluations."
"Ugh, I should have said my lines differently."
"It's going to be fine,"
"I went off script, too."
"You need to relax,"
"I just...I just wish I did things differently,"
"The audition is done and over with now. Take a deep breath and let it go. Let's just wait and see,"
She let out a breath. "Okay. Okay. You're right."
She should stop freaking out and let nature take its course. If it was for her, then it was for her. If it wasn't, then hopefully another opportunity will be.
After getting off the phone, she chose to work more on music for the upcoming Philly show of the WINGS tour until she received a FaceTime call from Layla.
"Hey!" Jennie waved.
"Hiii! How are you?!" Layla beamed.
"Busy as heck, but I'm getting by,"
"Oh, I bet. You look happy. I'm glad you're drowning out all the noise from the media."
"Best decision ever. So, whatcha need?"
"Did I make it obvious?"
"A little because of how nervous you look," Miss Bangtan giggled.
"Okay, you got me. All right, I know it might be a bit over the top to ask, but the worst you can say is no. Um…so I have a song that I'm workin' on for my new album. I really would love for you to be a part of it, if you feel comfortable. I-I'll pay whatever you want for the feature. Just let me know. This song is nice, and I feel like you'd fit it well," she nervously requested.
"Layla, relax. It's cool. Send it. I'll listen to it."
"Really? Thank you. I just sent it. Let me know what you think."
After she sent the song, Jennie took the time to hear it, enjoying Layla's vocals and the lyrics. Nodding in approval, she decided to accept it.
"Are you sure? You're cool with it?"
"Hell yeah, let's make a banger. For old time's sake," Jen beamed.
"Thank you. We'll have fun! How much do you want?"
After she told her the rates, Miss Bangtan requested, "Just do me a favor and donate half of it to some of these organizations I've been supporting."
"You got it," Layla wrote the information down after she let her know. "Let's think of a date to start our sessions to work on this."
"Yeah. Here's my schedule for the rest of the year and going into 2017," Jen went on to email her information.
"Oh yeah, tour season for Wings! I gotta make it to one of your shows,"
"Speaking of shows, would you like to join me for the Philly show? I'm showcasing some solo stuff and maybe we could preview the song we're collaborating on there, too?"
"Oh, I'd love to do that! I'll let my team know,"
"Good. Big Hit wants BTS to kind of break more into the US market, soon. I'm excited but cautious about what that'll entail."
"Hey, just remember, the more famous you get...there will be clout chasers. Not everyone is your friend. Don't make the mistake I did. And don't let fame change you, okay? Promise me that. Stay to yourself. Keep that circle small. There are many snakes in this industry...I hate it so much. It consumed a handful of friends of mine. You saw what became of Amity. Just be careful and protect Bangtan's peace as well. Be their anchor that I wish that I could have been for my old friends."
Jennie nodded, understanding the depth of her words. "I will."
------
"UGHHHHHHH!" Jennie exclaimed as she angrily tossed the broken hair tie in the trash in her bathroom.
"Uh, you all right?" Jungkook peeped his head into her bathroom as she angrily put her hair in a bun with a new hair tie.
"No!" she snapped before wincing in pain from the sharp cramp that abruptly hit her. "God...I cannot wait for this shit to end."
"You're on?"
"No, I'm just yelling for no reason, what does it look like? You literally see me fighting for my life here and you wanna ask me if I'm on my period? Go away!" She rolled her eyes, annoyed with his questions.
"Yeah, that's my answer," Jungkook chuckled, used to the mood swings. "You need more hair ties?"
She let out a sigh. "Yeah, can you pick some up? I would, but I need to lie down, I don't feel so good. I'ma have the heating pad on me for a bit."
"Relax. I'll get it."
"Oh, and pads with wings," she added as she walked to her bed.
"Got it," he nodded, like it was the simplest request.
About an hour later, Jennie stared at Jungkook, dumbfounded, in the kitchen. She glanced from him to the two items on the counter.
"Korean fried chicken wings?" she asked in surprise.
"Yeah, you said pads with wings. This was it, right? These are the wings you usually like," he responded innocently with his doe eyes meeting her confused ones, hoping she was happy with what he purchased.
Suddenly, she began laughing. "I said pads with wings,"
"Yeah, these are the pads and these are the wings you wanted," he pointed them out.
"Pads with wings,"
"That's what I got for you. What's wrong?" he looked confused as he checked the items.
Those period cramps subsided as she proceeded to giggle at how he misinterpreted her request. It was cute, and she appreciated the gesture.
"Babe, I meant pads with wings. The wings are connected to the pads. Not wings as in food,"
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Wait, what? There are pads with wings? That's a thing?"
Shaking her head in amusement, she kissed his cheek.
"Yes! Anyway, thank you, I'll enjoy these,"
-----
Author's Note at the end: I hope you enjoyed this and it was worth the long wait. I'm going to begin working on the next chapters after a little bit. I really missed this and am glad I finally got my groove back.
The song Layla and Jennie will collab on is Want Me by Chloe and Halle. I loveee that song. It'll be like an interlude song with Jen doing Chloe's lines while Layla handles Halle's. I also have fun ideas for the WINGS Philly show! Stay tuned!

All the boys sighed, annoyed, as time ticked by.
They had been stuck at that photoshoot sight for more than an hour at that point, just waiting for the last member to arrive.
Pacing annoyed, Jin sighed and looked towards the managers, “Sunny never takes this long. What even happened?”
The same manager that had answered him about three times now, shrugged and repeated the same mechanical answer “She left a little later than everyone else, so her car got stuck in traffic”
“She left ten minutes after us, traffic couldn’t have gotten that much worse in such a small-time frame. I mean, it's been hours, are you even talking with her manager?”
“The cell service is awful on the road, you were the one who complained about it when we were on the way.” The same manager sighed and checked his phone again, “The last news we got was that they were leaving Seoul and the roads were blocked”.
Patting the couch next to himself, Jimin waited for Jin to sit down and gave him a side hug “Hyung, we should probably distract ourselves for a while, then we won’t even notice how late she’s being”
“I don’t think he’s stressed about that. It is a little weird that everyone in her car is out of reach.” Namjoon thought out loud and Suga added, “Knock on wood something bad happen, but I also don’t have a good feeling about how long this is taking”.
Jungkook laughed and fidgeted with his sleeve, “I mean, this is Sunny we're talking about. Cell service or not, she would probably find a way to text us to complain about being late or something like that”.
As soon as he got done talking, another manager came from outside straight to the group. The boys quickly got confused, as it seemed that the directors were starting to repack their unused equipments.
“Shooting is being postponed. We just got in touch with Seoul’s Center Hospital, and it appears that Sunny’s car was involved in a crash” The manager sensed how tense the boys got and held up his hand to continue without interruptions.
“The manager driving is under a small surgery right now, but the doctors think everything will turn out well. As for Sunny, she only had a sprain on her wrist and a dislocated shoulder. We couldn’t reach them until now because her phone got broken during the crash”.
The group went silent as they took in the news, Taehyung being the first to speak up with a simplistic “Holy fuck”
“What do you mean, ONLY a broken wrist and a dislocated shoulder?” Jin snapped, getting red from the neck up. Yoongi placed a hand on his shoulder, speaking annoyed, “Hyung, her manager had to go into surgery.”
“Is she still by herself?” Jimin frowned worried.
“The hospital contacted the company a couple of minutes ago. Somebody is probably already on their way to make her company”.
“Great, why aren’t we heading there too?” Namjoon looked around for the rest of the managers and clapped his hands, “Let’s get moving. We’re done wasting time here”.
Sunny sat peacefully on the hospital bed while a Hybe staff typed furiously on his phone, probably updating her higher ups on the idol’s and her manager’s conditions.
Although she had also gone unconscious, Sunny didn’t show any signs of concussion or any other damage that didn’t involve her arm. As she was sitting for being monitored for a couple of hours, the girl couldn’t help but feel anxious over her manager’s situation.
She was lost in thought when the door slammed open by Jin and J-hope quickly entering the room with the rest of the boys following behind.
“I knew something had happened to you, careless child” The eldest crossed his arms standing at the foot of her bed, and starting a choir of “How are you doing” and some variations of “you scared us to death”.
“Can everyone calm down? I can feel a headache creeping in” The girl whispered, hoping they wouldn’t hear her, but miraculously all the boys fell silent and shared worried glances.
“Did you hit your head during the crash? The doctors should test you to see if everything is fine up there, I mean, you could have hurt your brain during it. I’ll call someone over to check if your head is okay” Jimin went into a mild panic state, yet before he could leave the room, Namjoon grabbed his arm and stopped him.
“I already went through every exam possible. Everything is fine, I would just appreciate if you guys could be a little more quiet”.
“We worry about you, and this is how you thank us?” Jungkook rolled his eyes and jumped up to sit beside her on the hospital bed. “How are you doing, though? Does it hurt anywhere else?”
“I didn’t actually feel any pain, I guess. By the time the adrenaline cut off I was already on painkillers, so I guess I’m fine” She did her best to shrug, despite the cast on her arm and isolated shoulder.
“Are you okay, though?” Yoongi frowned as he noticed her uneasy appearance. Tapping two fingers on his head, he added, “Mentally, I mean. It must have been pretty scary”.
Taking a deep breath, Sunny allowed herself to share a little of what’s on her head, “I guess it still isn’t over. It depends on what happens with manager Unnie”.
This was one of the few times Sunny looked smaller than she was. Seeing her being vulnerable and worried left the boys wondering how could they just push aside the fact that she did just go through a potentially traumatic experience.
“Let’s keep it positive that everything is going to turn out fine, okay?” Namjoon broke the awkward silence that had built inside the room, and taking his cue, Taehyung scooted over to where her injured arm was.
“We should probably distract ourselves until we get some news. Do you know how long you’re going to have this cast for?” He asked, also checking with the staff member if they had a sharpie on them, which they easily passed it over to him.
Looking skeptically at him, Sunny complied, “The doctors said about a month. And if you’re thinking about drawing on it, I’d rather not”.
“Why not?” Taehyung whined, unclasping the pen and reaching over for her arm. Which the girl tried to get it out of his reach, but having her movements limited, she couldn’t do much more than lean to the side, almost pushing JK out of the hospital bed.
In the middle of the chaos of her screaming for V to not write anything, Jungkook holding onto her in order not to fall off, and Jin screaming for them to be careful, Taehyung managed to get his signature on her cast arm.
Smiling victorious, he ignored her sulking and passed the sharpie to J-Hope, who much more gracefully also signed the cast. Sunny could only sit there and watch as, one by one, the boys took turns writing their signatures, as if she were some injured fan who had the luck of meeting them inside the hospital.
“There you go” Jungkook added a heart at the end of his signature and closed the sharpie once and for all, “Now you have your cast signed by Bangtan themselves”
“Technically, it's seven out of eight” Sunny pondered out loud, slowly appreciating every one of their names.
“So, what are you waiting for?” The boy was about to give her the pen, when he noticed something. Letting out a breathy laugh, Jungkook rolled his eyes, “You really were unlucky to the point of injuring your dominant hand”.
“Why are you saying it like I got to chose which wrist I wanted to screw up.” Getting ready to shove him off the bed once and for all, Sunny got interrupted by a nurse coming inside the room and politely introducing herself.
“I was sent to tell you that everything occurred well with Ms. Choi’s surgery, and that soon she’ll be moved into a room like this one”
Finally, breathing relieved, Sunny gave her a thankful smile and leaned back on the hospital bed. Closing her eyes for a moment, until somebody placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Feeling better now?” Taehyung gave her one of his boyish smiles, and she nodded, closing her eyes again, “I really want to take a long ass nap. Today has been a ride, and it’s not even noon yet”.
Aera and Jung Kook of BTS surprise fans on Day 1 of the Arirang tour
ARMY was given a huge surprise on Day 1 of BTS Arirang Tour when Jung Kook and Aera performed an unreleased song. The two took the stage and belted out harmonious vocals to the new R&B masterpiece titled 'Still Beautiful' which was written and produced by both members with lyrics written by Aera.
Still Beautiful tells the story of two people who fell in love when they were kids but had to part due to certain circumstances. The melancholy expressed in the first half of the song is pulls at your heartstrings, but in the last half it changes from melancholic to upbeat with themes of reminiscing. You might start with tears but end in a smile.
We hope this song stays on the set list and ends up on Spotify soon!
Summary: Maternity clothes is only one part of pregnancy Grace isn't looking forward to.
Words: 1.5K
If Grace were being honest, she’d been stealing from the boys’ wardrobes for the past month.
A hoodie here, a T-shirt abandoned after rehearsals, a pair of joggers that stretched without asking questions and anything from Seokjin’s side of the closet that he didn’t immediately notice was missing, though he seldom minded. If anything, he looked vaguely pleased every time he caught her in one of his jumpers, like it meant something deeper than comfort.
She’d stopped reaching for her own clothes without even meaning to. Her wardrobe was full of things that used to fit like a second skin, but now they felt like a trap.
The boys’ clothes didn’t.
Their shirts hung looser, their waistbands forgave, their hoodies made space for her stomach without making it a problem. They let her breathe, let her eat, and let her sit through meetings and rehearsals without constantly adjusting the fabric, as if she were trying to hide a crime.
Because the bump was there now, real enough to change the way she moved and the way the public was now fully aware of what was going on behind the scenes.
She was wearing one of Jungkook’s many black T-shirts that afternoon, the cotton soft from a hundred washes, when he looked her up and down and frowned. “Yah,” Jungkook said, pointing at her as if he’d just solved something. “That’s mine.”
Grace didn’t even flinch. She just lifted her tea to her mouth, calm as anything. “Is it?”
He stepped closer, squinting at the neckline as it might confess. “It’s literally mine. That’s my favourite one.”
“You have fourteen favourites,” Grace said dryly. “You’ve got about twenty black t-shirts of the same make in your closet.”
And that had been that.
But Hobi, ever nosy Hobi, had caught on and one day at a meeting had clapped his hands and declared that Grace needed to go maternity shopping. The moment the words had come out of his mouth, Grace had sighed heavily and sunk into her seat because she knew what that meant. It wasn’t a case of picking something off the shelf and putting it in the basket. She now had to try stuff on because this bump wasn’t going to stay this size, and that was something she’d had to adapt to.
Seoul didn’t exactly overflow with dedicated maternity shops, but online, there were plenty of options, and once Hobi had decided on something, it became a mission.
Two weeks later, Grace was called into HYBE.
When she stepped into the styling room, it looked like someone had raided a warehouse. Bags lined the floor in neat rows, and the stylist team were already slicing through packaging, shaking out fabrics, and hanging pieces on rolling rails. There were soft knits and wide waistbands, flowy dresses and structured sets, coats, jackets, trousers, and even underwear, all in colours that felt deliberately gentle. A few bolder pieces that screamed Hobi had opinions.
“Did you buy everything?” Grace asked, entering the room as Hana and Sejin followed, with Seokjin bringing up the rear with a bag that came from their local coffee shop.
Hobi barely glanced up. He grabbed the nearest bag and tore it open with the enthusiasm of someone unboxing a new phone.
“This is everyday stuff,” he announced, already shaking out a soft knit like it had personally offended him by being folded. “The BTS maternity wear? Designers are on that.”
Grace snorted and dropped into the nearest chair, accepting the tea Seokjin handed her with a grateful hum. “Of course they are.”
Ever since the pregnancy announcement, every designer they’d ever worked with had been calling. And calling. And calling again. Red carpets, interviews, airport looks, and finale stages – everyone wanted their name attached to Grace’s “maternity era”. It had almost turned into a bidding war, polite on the surface and feral underneath.
But everyday clothes were different.
Every day meant comfort. Clothes made by people who understood pregnancy from the very beginning, through the swelling and shifting and sore days, then after, when there was nursing and recovery and the slow, strange process of a body finding its way back toward something familiar.
It went on for two long hours.
One hour was spent wearing bras and underwear behind curtains with a member of the stylist team who knew Grace’s body better than anyone else. There was a comment that was muttered, but somehow Hobi and Seokjin managed to hear it, which was ‘Your chest has definitely grown bigger,’ and that caused an uncountable number of giggles.
“You’re both twelve years old,” Grace called out from behind the curtain.
“I told Yoongi-hyung the other day that something was different,” Hobi called through his laughter. “He told me to divert my eyes.”
Grace made a sound of pure disbelief from behind the curtain. “Yoongi said that?”
Seokjin’s laughter pitched higher, helpless. “Of course he did,” he wheezed. “That’s the most Yoongi response I’ve ever heard.”
Hobi slapped the table lightly like it was a punchline that deserved applause. “He was like,” he dropped his voice into a perfect deadpan imitation, “‘Hobi-ya. Divert your eyes.’”
Grace sighed heavily as she stripped off the maternity underwear, unimpressed. “Nice to know everyone in the group cares about my boobs.”
That set Hobi and Seokjin off again, louder this time, while a stylist rolled in the first rack of clothes. And just like that, it started all over again.
Another hour of trying on tops, trousers, skirts, dresses, blouses, jackets, coats, maternity jeans, leggings, anything with a waistband that didn’t feel like a threat. Anything that let her breathe again.
By the end of it, the pile of yes had become its own small mountain. Everything approved was clipped, tagged, and gathered to be sent straight to Grace and Seokjin’s apartment. Everything labelled 'no' was repacked with swift efficiency, including the knit dress that itched like it was made of brambles, which Hobi banished from the room as if it had personally insulted him.
When the chaos finally slowed, Grace emerged in a pair of maternity jeans and Jungkook’s T-shirt, slippers on her feet, looking and feeling like she’d just survived a war.
“What now?” she asked, dropping onto the couch and accepting the snack Seokjin passed her without even looking, pure muscle memory at this point.
Sejin didn’t hesitate. “Rehearsals.”
All three BTS members in the room groaned in perfect, dramatic unison. It was slow going, but at least they only had to travel down a few floors, where the rest of BTS was waiting.
“Does Noona have clothes now?” Jimin asked, glancing over what Grace was already wearing.
“She has more clothes than Hobi does,” Seokjin confirmed as Grace made her way over to the couch and immediately sat down, sighing. “I need a nap now,” she laughed, but accepted the bowl of fruit Jungkook had ready for her.
Taehyung wandered closer, peering into the bowl of fruit with the seriousness of an art critic. “Is that the good pineapple?” he asked, as if this mattered more than the schedule.
Jungkook nodded solemnly. “It’s the good pineapple.”
Namjoon looked up from where he’d been scrolling through the rehearsal notes on his tablet, eyes flicking from Grace’s slippers to her face with a quiet, assessing gentleness. “You okay?” he asked.
Grace popped a grape into her mouth and gave him a thumbs-up. “I survived the Great Bra War of HYBE. I deserve a medal.”
That got everyone going, laughs and teasing bubbling up at once, which jolted Hobi like someone had pressed a button. His head snapped up. “Oh!” he burst out, pointing far too enthusiastically. “Yoongi-hyung, I was right; Grace’s chest is a different size!”
The entire room went silent, as if they were right in what they had just heard, before the laughter returned with Grace joining this time, covering her eyes with her hand and wondering not for the first time in nearly fifteen years why she signed up with Big Hit.
Yoongi, who had been conserving his energy in a chair, slowly opened his eyes and looked at the third part of the rap line. “Hobi, no one is looking at Gig’s chest apart from you and Seokjin-hyung.”
The two men mentioned spluttered as they stood and tried to defend themselves, but it was no use; the entire room was filled with laughter, including from the dance team who had wandered in at the right moment, or maybe it was the wrong moment.
Namjoon, suffering as only he could as a leader, stood and sighed. “Let’s not talk or look at Grace’s chest, and let’s get on with this rehearsal.”
