jewish femme lesbian culture is wanting a butch to help you clean ur channukiah after the candles melt literally everywhere and then immediately make them latkes after <3
enjoyed the very jewish tradition of seeing a movie and eating chinese food on xmas, but i literally fainted at dinner and am now getting tested for iron deficiency so uh… ya win some ya lose some ig?
i'm generally not interested in entertaining one of the most toxic, hostile, horrendous people i've ever had the displeasure of meeting online, so i'll try and keep this concise and to the point.
how predictable that a singular private ask i sent to the person getting on a decades old account letting them know that i knew who they were, i knew what was going on, and i sincerely with they find a better friend caused a monumental public crash-out on their friends end revealing the truth me that my friends/community members honestly kinda already knew.
and to this person bc i have high confidence you're keeping tabs on me just as you have been on my friends for years (and are inevitably going to react to this on your 500th blog):
✨Here is a fun little survey for anyone who wants to participate. You do not have to be tagged or receive any asks to join. You do not have to be a @pathandpractice tag member to participate. It is not an ask game; just a good, old fashion myspace-style survey. Just copy this post questions, post your answers, and (if you feel like it) tag a few blogs. Please keep this description and credit to @pathandpractice when reposting. ✨
If your magic had a soundtrack, what would be its theme song? while i as a person am a very "bubblegum pop meets musical theatre." i'd argue my magic is a bite more "alt dream pop meets folk music." some songs i think would be great examples include: witches by alice phoebe lou, cant catch me now by olivia rodrigo, we are androgynous by girl in trouble, everybody scream by florence + the machine, and running up that hill by kate bush.
What’s the weirdest substitute component you’ve ever used? not sure if i can think of anything off the top of my head, but in my defense not a lot feels weird or strange to me in the realm of magic. i do however love using components in unconventional ways that counter peoples usual perception of them (ex: i know cinnamon is seen for many as symbolic of prosperity, attraction, protection, etc. but i once used it in a curse bc the person was allergic to it lol)
What’s a superstition you don’t believe in? I think I don't really follow many superstitions about "bad luck" as i don't really believe in the stereotypical idea/conception of "bad luck." its treated like an inherent assignable attribute that can be given to people but i think everyone has up and down times in their life and perceptions of luck are really just based on perspective/personal bias rather than being a trait we all inherently have as "lucky" or "unlucky." now don't get me wrong, i'm still a superstitions person and i also believe in things like the evil eye, but i don't conceptualize that as "bad luck" as its more akin to a hex or curse than anything. as humans we are impacted by the positive and negative things around us, but that's a result of our environment and peoples actions, not because of some luck meter we are all measured on.
What’s your most chaotic spell outcome? How off-target did it go? lets just say me and an ex of mine tried to do this new years spell manifesting things such as good health, a good relationship, so on so forth in the year to come. well... my disabilities worsened, she turned out to be a shitty partner about it (among other things) and we eventually broke up. part of me wonders if it backfired bc her heart wasn't fully in it and did not have 100% pure intentions for me... guess ill never know for certain!
What’s something "completely mundane" that feels magical to you anyway? a lot of stuff actually... going on a walk/being in the sun, lighting candles/incense, dancing to music, eating cultural foods. everything has a little magic within it if you just let it.
If your intuition had a voice, who would it sound like? i suppose myself as its coming from within me, though i've got hyperphantasia so to some degree it already does have a voice floating around in my head.
What kind of magic do you think you are/you would be bad at, and why? as much as i try to be a "jack of all trades" kinda folk witch, im sorry but you will never catch me being a very good herbal/wortcunning witch. i love plants and folk herbalism don't get me wrong! but i'm not very intuitive when it comes to plants and if my many failed succulent/cacti windowsill gardens have anything to say, i seem to have whatever the opposite of whatever a green thumb is.
What’s a sign or omen you completely misread at first? when i was a teenager i lowkey used to be obsessed with angel numbers, and listen while i do believe repeated numbers can be omens/signs, i was kinda feeding into mental health issues with it at the time so i've had to learn that not everything is signifigant and get more discerning about my parameters for omens/signs.
If your altar could judge you, what would it say you’ve been neglecting? i can just picture my altar very gently lecturing me about the importance of keeping a cleaning schedule and finding time to tidy up my space... which my altar would be absolutely right about this, but i have not yet mastered the skill of keeping an apartment clean all the time soooooo.....
What fictional universe would your magic thrive in? somehow both a D&D fanatasy-esq setting but also like a magical girl setting. i think its something about my love for magic rooted in folkways/cultural heritage but also the importance of community and my values that helps drive my magic.
What is a witchcraft-related hill you will die one? if your magic is rooted in appropriation, bigotry, spiritual bypassing, harmful rhetoric, etc. your magic is shit. i'm all for respecting other peoples magical paths until y'all start causing harm and speaking over marginalized people.
What’s a habit you have that accidentally turned into a ritual? habitually putting on my protective/charm necklace is just a ritual at this point lol
If your could take the shape of an animal for a day, which one would you choose? SEAL 1000000% i feel like such an irl selkie honestly
What’s something you’ve outgrown spiritually, but still feel nostalgic about? there was a point in time where i had a bit of an interest in a sorta polytheistic approach to my judaism, but honestly my conceptions of divinity and how the universe works have advanced so much im on a completely different level. i will always have a respect/admiration for jews who have a polytheistic approach tho, always coming up with such interesting theology!
If your magic had a moral alignment (chaotic, lawful, neutral), how accurate would it be? true neutral... i have things i do abide by but sometimes i let the mind gremlins take over
What’s a belief you held early in your practice that makes you laugh now? i don't think i really have an answer for this one.. or at least not any that haven't been answered by a previous question, and even then i don't think i'd laugh at myself too hard. i've got no shortage of things in my life that i look back on and laugh at dont get me wrong, but nothing specifically witchcraft/magical related.
If you could bottle and save one feeling for spellwork, what would it be? the feeling of hope/inspiration... that moment when life feels good and you trust that everything will work out and be okay and theres a road with brighter days ahead of you.
What’s your “this shouldn’t work, but it does” method? a witch can't give away all their secrets, eh?
What’s the most aesthetic over practical thing you’ve done in your practice? i think i do a good job of balancing both as to beautify things is a mitzvah, but oooooh how i love taking photos sometimes just bc it looks cool and i want to capture the moment/vibe forever.
If your practice had a warning label, what would it say? warning: hours of incoherent and nonsensical autistic ramblings and notes within, parse through them at your own risk!
What was the first magical/witchcraft book you ever read? cant say for certain and i was like... 13 and don't remember fully. my guess is either the only astrology book you'l ever need by joanna woolfolk or something prob by like... scott cunnigham bc ofc

today i wanted to share a few things:
- ive started reading and taking notes on “the hebrew priestess” by jill hammer and taya ma shere. i don’t fond myself particularly fond of taya’s writings within the book, its a little too goddess feminism for me, but theres definitely been some great information on jewish womens historical practices and folklore/myth.
- channukah just ended, but it was magical as ever! did a lot of gathering in community, many of whom i have found have magical approaches to judaism even if they don’t define it the same way i do. there’s just something about the magic of singing prayers like spells, being intentional in the candles you choose, talking about ancestors like judith or chava and adam, etc. and i hope to continue building this community in the coming years.
- the winter solstice also happened! its been an on-and-off kinda winter with it either being relatively warm and rainy, or harshly cold and snowy. i admittedly didn’t do much in the magical sphere for the day — rather, i took it as an opportunity to get some much needed rest. winter to me is a season of rest and retreat which can be hard to embrace in a capitalist society, so i really try to any chance i get!
those are all my updates for now, but im excited to hopefully post more here :3
