Bubby Brister
Week 6: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers rushed for 186 yards but still could not keep pace with the Colts offense.
Pittsburgh running back Warren Williams had 97 rushing yards and two touchdowns before being injured on a run in the the fourth quarter. On the next play, however, Williams’ backup Tim Worley ran for a long TD to cut the Colts lead to 28-27.
But on the Colts next drive Jeff George found Bill Brooks for a 49 yard TD. The Steelers last chance at a comeback ended when Colts lineman Harvey Armstrong forced Pittsburgh QB Bubby Brister to fumble, then picked up the ball and ran it in for a touchdown.
NOTES:
-In the first quarter, future Super Bowl champion backup QB Bubby Brister recovered teammate/future broadcaster/future concussion awareness advocate Merril Hoge’s fumble and took it 82 yards for a touchdown. Duane Bickett blocked the ensuing extra point attempt.
-The Colts victory sets up a battle of undefeated AFC East powerhouses next week when they play the mighty Buffalo Bills.
-Bring it the fuck on, Buffalo.
Final Score: COLTS 42 Pittsburgh 27
Season Record: 6-0
