Hi, I noticed you put the word(s) "sakataterihwàhten" under this gifset of Connor and Haytham. I've been trying to find out what it means, but with no avail. Do you know the meaning? Thanks in advance.

I don’t think it’s ever absolutely certain what it means, but from what I could find once upon a time that it may mean “I made a mistake”, although it may not be an accurate translation.

Ok so... this Vane/Silver thing... is it going to be a slash? Because I am so worried for the original ship now, you have no idea :O It is, of course, only up to you what you write (obviously:D), but just to give you some feedback, there's a fan of "Any Port in a Storm" (me) who got suddenly very nervous, if you know what I mean :D

Yes, there is going to be a sex scene - the installment is being written from Silver’s POV, and there is going to be a lot of conflicted emotions and frequent mentions of Flint. The series has gained something of an arc as I’ve been writing it, and this (working title “Dead Wake”) is primarily to further the plot as well as Silver’s investment in what comes next. 

What happens between Silver and Vane will be purely a physical encounter, and it will all be about Flint in a circumspect way. The final entry in the series (which will more than likely be called “Forestay”) is intended to pull all of the issues out in the open and bring Flint and Silver to a place of actual partnership. Flint/Silver is the core ship of the series, and even though Flint won’t be physically present in “Dead Wake,” his presence will absolutely be felt.

That's the thing - we were both there. It's just that we had such a long shopping list and we had to get lumber cut that we split up a few times, and sometimes I had the kiddo. He was bored, understandably, but trying to keep him away from the stacks of lumber and buckets of PVC pipe and stop sitting down in the aisle and while I'm looking at something he's run off around a corner and... AUGH.

He's my stepson, my husband's 6-year-old son from his previous marriage. I love him dearly, but there are times I need to not be around him anymore. It's lovely that I get to say, "This is yours," and give him back to his mother at the end of the weekend.

My husband sometimes turns to me and says, "Are you sure you want more?" and I really wonder.

Oooh, something that got cut…

There was a part in the captain’s cabin, when Flint talks about how a captain needs a fairlead and he mentions Billy, when Silver asks him exactly what happened on the side of the ship. I dithered over it for a while because the show hadn’t answered the question yet (and I knew they were going to), but also because I ultimately decided Silver didn’t care what had happened on the side of the ship. He already knew Flint was vicious when he had to be, so knowing what really happened to Billy wouldn’t have made him more or less afraid of Flint - which he is, because he has a healthy self-preservation instinct. Ultimately, when I started writing this section the fic started going in a completely different direction and I was really struggling with it, so I got rid of it.

I can’t give you exact words because I’m very much of the “kill your darlings” school of writing. If I cut something, it’s deleted and gone forever. I write, edit and re-write in the same document, so it’s very rare that my “rough drafts” survive. The only exceptions are things I wrote by hand waaaaaay early in my writing career and those are things I never want to see the light of day, thank you very much. I do have a print copy of Night Shift, one of my original works, but that’s because I got it for free when I won NaNoWriMo, and it’s getting very heavily marked up in black pen.

Wasn't you. It was in a brazilian website that tracks tv shows. I went there to mark the episode of Black Sails as watched (I watch too many tv shows so I need those kind of websites to keep everything in order) and in the comments section there was a guy ranting...like...OMG it was almost funny, he was in pure rage.The same guy was commenting  how hot the sex scenes between girls were and now he is raging because two dudes have kissed. I completely understand how some people are mad, but the explanation has to be because of the plot, because of character development. That's fair by me, but to complaint just because a character is gay/bi when you clearly doesn't have a problem when it serves your fetiches needs? NAH.

Hmm I signed-out of Google & tried as just another user & it worked. There's actually 3 other people watching it at the moment as well. Not sure why it's working for some and not others. Maybe clear the cache for that page? Click on the link and Press "CTRL+F5" or "CMD + R" for Mac? Maybe that will help. =/

Hi, GravesDiggers! I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you whether you happen to know about any video recordings of Rupert Graves in the play The Elephant Man. There's bound to be one, correct? The universe have had to, at some point, acknowledge the existence of the poor souls who would never have the chance to see it live and therefore there should be a "second chance" in the form of a video. If there isn't, the universe is a bitch...

Nearly all Broadway productions are recorded by the New York Public Library for their Theatre on Film and Tape Archive however you’d need to be in New York and have a valid research reason for requesting to view their copy of The Elephant Man (if indeed they have one - it’s not guaranteed).

It’s also possible there is a bootleg recording out there somewhere but you’ll have to ask Google about that (I only know of one such site and he doesn’t have it.)
