Okay so did anyone ever notice that like. Buck doesn't actually have the Sacramen-Cho stare?

Like, sure, his eyes glow purple, but that's more an aesthetic choice to make him scarier. We never once see him with eyes that glow like the rest of the thousand.

I think it’s pretty obvious why when you think about his backstory.

The thing that brought him to the black woods is no longer a desire for him, so there’s nothing to be amplified.

His desire was, initially, to summon Rhok'zahn. Muu states pretty directly that even before eldrich gods COULD interact with humans, Buck was already obsessed with her. He would have been the one to seed the black woods, and it would have immediately amplified his desire for Rhok’zahn more. Probably so much so that he would snatch the kiss from her that made him immortal.

But his immortality is what caused his desire to waver. He saw the immortality as a curse, brought by the very one he worshipped so much. He believed that she cursed him with eternal life and eternal suffering. So he grew to resent, even HATE his god. The object of his desire. No wonder he lost the stare.

But since he couldn't leave the black woods, and he couldn't die, he started torturing his god and morphed the woods to fit his wrathful desires. To aid in the mental torture of Rhok’zahn.
