Lakeland Tapestry

An angle of the Wasdale valley that I haven’t previously shot before. This is from a raised craggy headland near Countess Beck just next to the shore of Wastwater, looking towards the rolling craggy fields that lie underneath the covered fell of Buckbarrow (meaning “the hill of the male goats”, 423m/1,388ft). I liked the layering and folding of the landscape in this composition leading towards the thick mist covering the fells. =)

Wastwater, Wasdale, Lake District, Cumbria, England.

ISO100, ƒ/18, 3secs at 14mm (21mm full-frame equiv.) using a slim polariser and a hard 2-stop ND grad filter stacked on my Sigma dp0 Quattro. This is a single exposure, processed in Sigma’s Photo Pro, edited in Photoshop.

This was when the thick mists began to burn off, revealing the brooding and atmospheric valley in all it's glory. I love how the green patchwork of fields provide some colour contrast and scale in what is an otherwise barren and monumental landscape. There's even a dusting of snow on the distant higher mountains.

hey! i was wondering if there's anywhere i can find out more about your new film i ship it, because i'm v excited but also have no idea what's going on / what it's really about so yeah thanks! ^.^

Unfortunately there’s no website or hub where you can go to find info about it besides just tracking the hashtag (#ishipitfilm), but be sure and subscribe to yulinisworking's youtube channel, http://www.youtube.com/yulinisworking , so that you’ll catch the film when it’s out in October, and probably follow her for updates. I also will be posting updates whenever they’re available. And I don’t know how much I can tell you about it besides that me, seanpersaud, and Joey Richter star in it; there’s music written by buckbarrow; there’s a Harry Potter/Wrock element; and I’m thinking and hoping that you’ll like it.
