7-year-old boy, enjoys being read to but doesn't looooove books. Very energetic, in case the 7-year-old part didn't already tell you that, SUPER (and I mean SUPER) sociable and outgoing, recently got his first dog (I don't know if any of this is useful to you, I'm just trying to provide info to make the suggesting easier.)

I've recently fallen in love with EllRay Jakes of EllRay Jakes is Not a Chicken Fame. He's getting picked on at school but he won't tell anyone because of REASONS and his father says if he's good for a week he'll take him to Disneyland but he keeps getting into trouble because of the picking on and OH so good.

No More Dead Dogs by Gordon Korman. Wallace Wallace is annoyed that he has to read this stupid book about a dead dog for English class. His teacher is so annoyed that he hated the book so much. Wallace is assigned to help with the stupid school play that is based on the stupid book with all the dead dogs in it and he ends up changing the play so there are no more dead dogs. Hysterical and fun and great.

It's super obvious but has he read Diary of a Wimpy Kid yet?
