BUCKLENA WEEKEND 2025
Greeting fellow BuckLena's! We're back and so excited to announce our next BuckLena event: Bucklena Weekend!
We will be celebrating from ***September 19th to September 21st. Mark your calendars!
How did this event come to be? Well we found out the talented @yucalorice and I shared the same birthday. If you don't know who @yucalorice is she is the most dedicated BuckLena artist. We are so grateful for the countless amount of artwork she's fed us. She has even been dubbed "BuckLena's Princess" due to her contribution in the fandom. Check out her twitter. And hi, I'm G (@gahdamnit), the creator of the BuckLena discord, co-runner of the BuckLena events, fic writer, occasional gif maker, and above all fic enthusiast! This event was created to give back to Yuca and the other creators in the fandom. To show appreciation for what they have created. Inspiring each other within the fandom. ***the weekend has changed by a week to accommodate admins personal life. Give us time to fix the poster.
3 Days, 1 Prompt
So what makes this event different? It is a 3 day celebration rather then a week long one. And is centred around one prompt. Creating Fanfiction based off Visual Creations! (including fanart, fan edits and comic panels) Alternatively for the editors, artists, gif makers, manip makers out there you can create based off your favorite BuckLena fic. (here's an example of a fic edit: I, II from another fandom)
Make sure to use the hashtag #BucklenaWeekend wherever you post your creation.
On Ao3 you can also submit your fanfiction to the Collection: BucklenaWeekend.
How to add to the collection. Simply input: "BuckLenaWeekend" into the "Post to Collections/Challenges" area and press enter. When you post your fic it will automatically be added to the collection!
2 Easy and Simple rules
Credit the fanart/edit/creation your fic is inspired by and add a link to the original. (can be at the beginning or end notes) All generative AI is strictly prohibited from the event. This includes AI art, AI chatbots, Character.AI, etc. AI can be a great tool, but your creativity is what makes something truly special. Don't let AI create for you.
