i saw a post about the misuse of "evan" in fics and completely agree and would like to say. #mytruth about the will scene is that the issue which buck was dealing with, in that moment, was something that had started before eddie came into his life: not buck thinking he's invincible like his mom (and others) mischaracterized it to be, but rather that buck thinks of himself as having such little worth in people's lives that he can be done without. so "you think you're expendable" is eddie recognizing buck's behavior for what it really is, and him confessing about the Will is to prove to buck the "but you're wrong" of it all. and eddie begins all of this by calling him "evan" yes to get his attention but more importantly because that's the version of buck that he's trying to get through to
