Need some guidance!
Working on what was supposed to be a one shot but it’s over 10 K.
It’s a tale of a medieval princess suddenly inheriting the throne after the untimely death of her brothers. She intends to rule but still needs a husband to help stabilize her status as queen. A certain blue eyed dark-haired man is a candidate.
Here is a little snippet of it. When it is done should I still post it as a one shot (it’s going to be longer) or should I split it up?

Closing the door to Prince James’ chambers, Barton placed his hand on the small of his wife’s back and ushered her into theirs. Dismissing the servants, he closed the doors to their passageways then stood facing his wife with his hands on his hips.
“What is going on?”
“Nothing, Husband,” she answered, not trying to hide her smile.
“I know nothing,” he declared, “and this is something. No secrets.”
“After Queen Viola faced the cabinet and you supported her against Pierce and Schmidt, she went to her rooms and cried herself to sleep.” He frowned, not aware of this. “Nothing to worry about, but us ladies presented ourselves to her the following morning. We had a very frank talk about what was desirable in a husband.” He still frowned. “I sang your praises and meant what I said.” Reaching to his hands, she pulled him to their bed, sitting on the edge. “I don’t know why I brought it up, but it was like my brain was telling my mouth what to say and it just came out and we all decided that there was a suitable candidate.”
“Wife, what are you talking about?”
“Him!” She pointed towards the hallway. “Prince James Barnes. He is unmarried, handsome, learned, and just the fact that he experienced Wade Wilson and didn’t kill the man indicates he is a man of great tolerance and patience. In the few moments I spent in his presence, I’m already convinced that he is free of the pretensions of most men of his station. Having grown up with a father who accepted a position beneath that of his mother …” Barton grinned, earning a playful slap on his chest from his wife. “You know what I mean. His father did not want to be king, although I’m certain he advised the queen quite well on many matters. Prince James might be amenable to a similar status with Queen Viola, allowing her to rule and keep her line going. At the very least, he would be a damn sight more suitable for her than that cur Rumlow.”
Barton physically turned to look at the hallway, then looked back at his wife. Barnes? The fourth son, who balked at being shuffled off to the seminary, and went on a two year voyage trying to find meaning in his life, was a viable suitor for their queen? Her face brightened.
