I never managed to unsee their pre52 interaction, the change was so drastic that it was just…weird.. to see them be chummy

thats my problem i mean apart from jason not being jason and tim being reverse tim(anti-tim..tom drak) it was too drastic and unexplained? i mean it was typical of the reboot but it was just too much too quick

also i might be one of the few but i honestly dont like how dc swept jason’s resentment/hate/trauma over his death and now he’s chummy with everyone in the batfam? where is the awkward interactions where he’s being again “accepted into the batfam” and they’re all trying to get to know each other

yeah I totally agree, to have that build up could have driven his story arc - and the whole fam’s really- and added much more depth and made it more engaging than just suddenly changing the characters to fit the dynamics we want to see

yes exactly and i feel sad we probably will never get this in canon. Im holding on for the hope of a writer/creative team to actually do jason and his relationship with the batfam justice (honestly its so complex and interesting!!!!) or maybe ill have to wait for someone to do a fancomic or a fanfic portraying this and ill be satisfied for the moment

I kind of agree, yeah. honestly, I love that jason and dick have an actual relationship now, but to me they always should have had some degree of that. they kind of ramped up the angst way too high in pre52 for me, but then they smoothed it over like it was nothing after, and it was still weird, esp. in some cases like Tim and Bruce. they should have let jason work it out more gradually and make different strides with each of them while still acknowledging his trauma

no yeah yeah thats exactly what i mean, i dont mind that jay and dick have a relationship now its all ive ever wanted even back pre52....because the circumstances back then (how separated dick was from bruce because of, depending on what you think is canon, how he wanted to be his own man/bruce fired him) prevented them from having any kind of friendly-ish relationship then jay died and then he’s portrayed as “unhinged” “unstable” “kill kill kill kill”. So yeah I do want them to have a relationship, i want them to be bros even if they cant or wont consider each other brothers but like you said i would’ve wanted it to be gradual, start with slowly getting to actually know each other instead of jumping to we’re chummy, thats what i usually feel iffy about with nu52 jason and even now in some issues of rebirth. I want my batfam together but I don’t want it at the expense of the characters developing relationships or an ooc characterisation or in jay’s case his trauma not being acknowledged
