architect part 2
A little time is your power. A lot of time is my loss. So you can hold the hours and believe it’s for both of us. All your words have melted, little puddles turn to rust. So we listen to the traffic and let it fill the hours up for us. The quiet keeps us moving and fills us up with future thoughts. They may be the undoing of all the truths we’ve lost. Maybe we could leave the hours and all the silence and the rust. All the words and the power and all the things we think we’ve lost. And if we find each other frozen, holding on – still lost. We’ll leave the old searches broken and look for something that made us…made us…
Your Shadow
I haven't crossed the bridge in days, but I can see the buildings growing. Lights are glowing through the new windows. I'm sure you never thought you’d see things back the way they used to be. And I still feel you blame yourself, I still feel you blame. I can still see the day I became your shadow. Lights and stars blurring days and years, so many people lost inside your fears. And I still feel you blame yourself, I still feel you blame. You know what could happen now. We could build our bridges stronger. You could be more than impressions to me, and everyone hereafter. But things won't change, not even earthquakes could swallow your pride. So I'll stay, across the bridge, watch the day - watch your shadow. I'll stay over here, across the bridge, watch the lights come on - watch your shadow.
I wrote this entire album after reading the "NO MAN'S LAND" story arc in DC comics. This song was inspired by Dick Grayson's relationship with Bruce Wayne. I was trying to get inside Dick's mind and speak from his perspective, as he witnessed Bruce's return to Gotham.
