Buffy 10x17 reactions under the cut: 

Is it just me or is Andrew a biiiit reduced to sexuality this issue? Most of it made sense -- up until that talk with Buffy. Buffy talking about not realizing things were mistakes until she was hurting people she cares about, hm, that sounds very reminiscent of demon summoning, killing your best friend, recombinant demon genetics, making a bot out of another friend, almost resurrecting Tara . . . not coming out. 

And what is Andrew talking about “what if”s? What “what if”s? Have the writers forgotten Andrew’s other giant hang-up: he doesn’t think he deserves happiness? So what if Andrew figured out earlier that he wanted to be with a guy, if he doesn’t think he’s allowed to let himself want anything? And Andrew has been torn up with guilt for years; he would know that. 

I mean, if they were going for the what if of “what if I didn’t fuck up” that would have worked really well, but they were definitely talking about his sexuality and I just don’t know how it was relevant. 

I mean, it’s nothing the writers can’t come back from. If the writers deal with why Andrew was scared to come out to himself, I could see that really fleshed out. (Scared of doing more bad things under the influence of someone like Warren, mayhaps?) 

I’ll keep my fingers crossed; this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s terrible, but I’m definitely wary-eyeing this atm. 

That said I AM VERY GLAD MY BABY IS BACK AND I WANNA SNUGGLE HIM TO BITS
