did avians and bugferrets not evolve from an aquatic ancestor or have i misunderstood? if that's the case, where did life originate on those planets?

You aren't thinking stupid enough. I didn't mean uninformed aliens with a low familiarity with Terran biology are assuming life on Earth didn't start in the ocean, I'm saying that some of them think humans are direct ancestors of animals like dolphins because we are both mostly hairless and like being wet. Like we're an amphibious clade that got back on land recently and still lowkey miss the water

Caught up on rtts during the weekend which sparked my interest in the world again and wow.... I really like bug ferrets... bug ferret oc :) stuff I wrote down for it, although nothing is set in stone ->

"Shy and easily overwhelmed, for a bug ferret at least. Often feels stupid when interacting with other bug ferrets and isn't faring very well in the family they're married into, but doesn't have many other options. It's mostly due to being easily (metaphorically) trampled over, while the family also being on the bigger side is a bit much for them. Oh well…"

i do plan on making rtts ocs but i've seen people just turn their existing characters into the aliens and technically three of these aren't even mine but the idea made me go hmmmm so. Runaway to The Abyss. Rift to The Stars. whatever. also Helen being the tiniest is really funny to me they're going to punt her into next thursday

Wanted to design Wurndon's outfit (Centaur)

Also in light of the newest RTTS Ama that explains the flexibility of the centaur clan system, I wanted to have some fun plotting out Wurndon and Molasses' (Molasses' is Wurndon's Bug Ferret mate)

I haven't thought of names for Molasses' family, but his surviving members make up the majority of the tree. Wurndon functions as a second in command having both his own "entourage" and having the title "patriarch".

Molasses' eldest sister, who has two pups, is the matriarch when it comes to important decision making due to Wurndon's brain damage. She mostly acts as a worker.

Wurndon still works after the incident but only works part-time as opposed to full-time and now has to have a partner at all times to ensure he stays safe. He also doesn't get assigned any tasks that could put him in a dangerous situation like climbing, crawling, or swimming.

Their clan name (whenever i think of one) will be interchangeable as "blank" clan and "blank" family :3

Edit: Oh! I wanted to add. Molasses' male sibling is the only other survivor of the incident, while his sister was on maternity leave to care for her pups since they had been practically just born. And their grandma is retired <3

Drew this instead of working. Trying to figure out bug ferret ocs for a possible fanfic. I like drawing real bugs but man are bug ferrets hard to get used to.

The urge to name them after human foodstuffs is overwhelming. Tentatively nicknamed Watermelon, Limewire, and Creamsicle (bottom to top).
