Been awhile since I posted anything lol. Sorry about that. I have been drawing though so there are things that I’m gonna post just not all at once.
So I’ve been picking at this for awhile now. I wanted to make another bug character but this time I actually wanted it to exist in one of @whitemantis’ worlds. Since I’m not well versed in Japanese culture I went with Shattered.
This here is Ma’at-aka. I know its intimidating lol. I based her around Egyptian culture. Gave her a “beehive” to reference the elongated skulls that pharaohs and such would do. She is a scarab queen and most importantly, leader of the Golden Scarab. What is it? Bug illuminati lol Golden scarabs are EVERYWHERE but you would never know since its a sekret. She’s not mean or evil or anything, very powerful but also regal and composed. She could easily ruin Aruc and his trading empire but knows that he has loyal followers that would seek her out and kill her. So yeah that’s a no haha. I have this scene in my head where she would offer Saa the night in her underground palace and tell her some personal stories and what not. Ma’at lives in the shadows, denied God after some tragic events in her childhood. She sympathizes with Saa but doesn’t understand her need to “prove” herself to God when he obviously doesn’t want her. At least that’s how she sees it. She’s just bitter about what happened and feels as though he doesn’t really care.
She may be a beetle but she doesn’t have 3 layers of skin, only 2 with the second being harder than normal but not as hard as three. With her dark coloring and harder than normal skin, she can withstand the sun perfectly. She dresses scantily in defiance to God but it works out that she doesn’t get burned easily. But yes bug illuminati. And I probably got things about the culture and stuff wrong in Shattered oops.
