Some beautiful adult female Chinese mantis ( Tenodera sinensis ) in my yard.

The other day I saw an Armored Night-Walker!

Last night I saw a Garden Snail! I loved the way the light shined through its tail+shell :)

So yall I got a tarantula on Saturday. (My birthday gift to me!)

I had been planning to for a while and had been looking at different species. And then I was out picking up some supplies for a friend and saw this spider last weekend, and decided to take some time to think about it, prepare, and make sure I really wanted them. A week later, I went back for her.

They are a Brachypelma albopilosum (curly hair tarantula) and their name is Halo. I don’t yet know their sex (spiders dont care about gender I’ll call her whatever i want in the meantime)

I got her from a local private store, they didn’t know her exact age, but shes not fully grown.

She was a bit pissy I had to kick her out of her enclosure so I could fill it with more substrate, but shes hiding in the tunnel I made for her. She already dragged her water dish clear across her enclosure lol (without spilling it, what finesse!). Trying to disturb her as little as possible for the time being. She did eat though. This is BY FAR the heaviest invert I’ve had up to date so her hitting the tongs was quite a surprise lol. 

I’m pretty much already head over heels for her, shit I was the first time I walked back to the car without her. I wasn’t even interested in curly hairs before I saw her pffff.

She was belly up in my driveway so I moved her near a tree. I thought she might be at the end of her life but she just up and flew away!

This grapevine beetle looks like it got tangled in spider web! But it was doing just fine! crawled onto my hand and flew back up under our garage light! So glad to finally see one of these in person ;v;
