bugchicklv replied to your post:there's nothing wrong with an artist reestablishing their career with a broader audience. cassadee lost a lot of things when hey monday broke up and deserved a chance to get it back. just because someone already has fans doesn't mean they don't deserve to win. cassadee did have the advantage of hey Monday/all time low fans but christina never had any of what cass had except YouTube fans
Makes perfect sense. It’s kind of why, though she totally deserved it, Kelly winning AI1 felt staged - she’d already been “discovered” and had a deal - it just fell through and didn’t work out at that moment so…eh.
yeah, it's like when people who've been discovered before come onto the show, they're kind of automatically expected to win, and it annoys me. i mean, sure, careers fail, but you had your chance, let it go
kelly's situation seems different, though. like a deal falling through is different than being apart of a band or a solo artist and releasing a full album or two. so, i can see why kelly deserved it, but cassadee and now possibly christina? no
(and besides, christina did have a little job going behind the scenes on the idol tour in 2012. and if you get to go on tour with colton dixon and phil phillips, you've really won a life, imo)
