            Did he know that Paris cared about Chat Noir? Of course. However, the care for a superhero or idol is different. In truth, they don’t know you. Many he’s never even spoken with. They care for you, yes, but truly they don’t. The care for who they see. The image that is plastered on nearly ever news station or website.              Everyday, Adrien’s normal life was just the same. Its one of the reasons he could so easily adjust to the role of a superhero. Because in truth, the role of Chat Noir came with more freedoms than his role as Adrien Agreste. So in reality, the duty of superhero was more so a downgrade from his usual responsibilities than anything else.              “Well, yes I know that... but...” But Marinette truly knew him. He’d laughed with her, felt heartache with her-- and so much more. She knew him, while everyone else didn’t. On both sides of the mask, if not Chat Noir more than Adrien-- given how he usually was. “Its... hard to explain.” More like impossible. After all, he couldn’t give her proper context. 

            “I just... Well, you know how they say there are always two sides to every coin? Lets just say... my sides are pretty similar in the sense that people care about me more so as... Something less personal. Someone they put on a pedestal, and see... Someone whose not me. Granted I don’t really help that, but its not like I have much of a choice.” A sigh filled with exasperation came and went. “I just... It means a lot to me. Your not just some stranger cheering for me from the sidelines.” More so than he could say. “Plus that’s... Well, I shouldn’t be saying this but-- that’s probably... The first time I’ve heard someone say they love me since my mother passed away.”

“Hey, Marinette!”  If Adrien were completely honest with himself, he may have enjoyed the way that she jumped, sometimes - not that he liked scaring her, he just liked that he could sneak up on her like that. Chat Noir’s stealth was often put down to the fact his suit was black, in the media, but Adrien was pretty good at staying out of sight - especially when there were cameras involved. Or school lockers. They made for useful hiding places.  He grinned, and caught one of her fly-away books for her, like it was the most normal thing in the world. “I wanted to talk to you. We’re headed to London in a couple of weeks for the fashion show - Nathalie says there’s an extra seat, if you want to come. You might even get one of your designs in, who knows? There’s a masquerade ball before the event.” Adrien would have invited Nino, only - well - Nino did not have any interest in fashion, and he didn’t think it would have been much fun, even with his best friend. Adrien liked Nino, but he couldn’t imagine sitting there in shared miserable boredom with him - except to occasionally laugh at themselves before they found some excuse to sneak out.  Marinette might actually have some interest in it, and it definitely couldn’t hurt to have someone his age invested in an event like this one. “It’s a great opportunity to mingle. I could introduce you to some people - once you find me, I guess!” what with it being a masquerade. “The travel’s on us, obviously. Are you interested?”

“Evening, m’lady. Fancy seeing you out here.” Yes, fancy indeed. Wasn’t like there was an Akumatized victim out there terrorizing Paris, just like every other time they seem to meet. “Out doing some shopping? I think red’s definitely your colour.”

Some pain 4 @buggiisms​

           Adrien was a self sacrificing boy, and he knew one day that would come back to bite him. The question was, on what side of his life would it strike first. Although in reality, he should have anticipated which side the coin of fate would fall. Because without a doubt, he was riskier and much more reckless when a pair of ears and tail were dawned.            At first, he hadn’t realized what had happened. Pain was an odd phenomena with things like this. Above all else, his abdomen just felt hot. Looking down, his hand came into contact with the liquid that seeped through the magical leather. As the seconds ticked by, why were things starting to spin? Why was it that his vision was starting to blur? Green luminescent eyes cast downward, and faintly registered what the liquid was. 

             Ah, that was right. This Akuma used sharp metal beams as weapons, and one had been going straight for Ladybug when she wasn’t looking. The boy moved without thinking. It was instinct more than anything. The desire to protect her overwhelming him, and causing his limbs to move before reason had a chance to catch up. Within the back of his mind, he swore he could already hear Plagg chastising him for being so reckless. Perhaps it was this very thing, that signified just how much he hadn’t quite registered the severity of the situation yet?               It was getting colder, and was getting much harder to stand. His knee’s buckled, as he fell to them like dead-weight. Why as it, that he suddenly was so weak? Why was this hot sensation spreading like this? Questions relay in the faint depths of his mind, as he desperately tried to fight off unconsciousness.               He hadn’t realized when the familiar green light had started to appear, nor did he see how the Akuma’s actions immediately ceased. A familiar insignia appearing on the victims face, as they raised their hands to their ears-- as if the man behind all of this were yelling at the top of his lungs. Deafening them. All Adrien knew, was that things were starting to get blurrier and blurrier. Colder and colder. Although there was a thought that rang in his mind, as he turned as much as he could manage towards his partner. 

          “... A-are... you okay?”

Oh, finally, here it was. So, this is the place huh?, it didn’t looked so bad from the exterior.

Standing there, casting a glance at the evening sun, she quietly allowed her poleaxe to fade away. It was best to not walk in there with a weapon.

Eventually, the ex-akuma moved, taking entry inside this bakery place, the home of Marinette. 

As soon as she did, the tiny bell, above the doorway, made a noise. Gothitelle stared across the food at disposal before being addressed by the mother. ‘’Uh, no, i’m not planning to buy snacks. I’m here for your daughter’’.

Blinking, the woman walked to the staircases, that led to the upper floor. ‘’Marinette!, sweetie, someone wants to talk to you!’’, she called from downstairs, hoping the call was heard.

“I can tell that you think what you’re saying is funny, but… no.”

“Oh, come on, bug! You have to admit, I’m… Beelarious. Get it? Bee-larious?” The smile that lit up Queen Bee’s face was almost embarrassingly giddy, causing her mask to crinkle slightly at the corners from her own personal amusement. “Like… Like, ‘hilarious’, but with ‘bee’? Hah! I’m so funny!”

Her eager attitude and bubbly expression had less to do with any of her actual humor, and more to do with the fact that she was getting a chance to show off her comedic skills (or lack-thereof) in front of a girl that she so openly admired– Ladybug.

The Ladybug, who was not just her idol these days, but was also her partner in anti-crime. Crime fighting? Superheroing? Whatever. The title didn’t matter. What did matter was that Chloe now had the opportunity to hang out with the hero nearly every other day, all while under the guise of a bee-themed hero in an undeniably flattering super suit.

“Okay, honey,” Queen Bee tried to smother her smile, knowing their mission to stop the Akuma currently attacking downtown Paris was no time make jokes– but still not letting it stop her from using a playful pet name. Just an extra nudge to get underneath her teammates skin. “I’ll cool it down. For now.”
