yello! do you have or use any resources for identifying / learning to identify isopods? im trying to find a good starting point for learning to identify them myself :]
Hello! A couple I can think of off the top of my head are American and British myriapod and isopod groups, respectively. I also look at iNaturalist a lot, because they have a plethora of photos and really comprehensible range maps just because of the way the site works.
There are a lot of forums and blogs of hobbyists and experts where they discuss different species, and it can be kind of hard to find them easily because they are on individual platforms sometimes. But I find really useful information on occasion.
Another one I can think of is bugguide.net. They’re a favorite of mine for all things bug, including isopod, and again they have a plethora of photos and sometimes some good discussion too.
For really high quality photos of some more uncommon species, and pods that are mainly just in the hobby, there’s isopod.site from the amazing macrophotographer Nicky Bay
